Stunningly Amazing Projector!
I honestly could not be happier! I did countless hours of research on this product and it truly paid off and blew away my expectations! I bought an ABOX projector about a year ago for $130 and after a year it burned out. This Optima HD 143X is mind blowing. The picture is honestly better, brighter, and clearer than my 1080p flat screen TV. The 3D is also phenomenal if you are into that. The best thing about this model is that the bulbs, rated for 10,000 hours!, are only about $60 to replace, which is incredible compared to the average being a few hundred! Do not hesitate and buy this now, you will not regret it. The picture is even so bright you can have it going with the lights on which is unheard of for a projector in this price range. There is a reason why it is #1 on every projector site for budget projectors. Depending on your space I believe it goes up to 330 in! I have it at about 100in now due to limited space. I also did buy the square trade 4 year plan because with something this price the extra $30 seemed worth it. Have had for a few weeks but will never go back to a regular TV. This truly turns every movie, show, and video game into a theatrical experience. I also highly recommend the HomeGear 110in electric screen, also on Amazon. So cool with the press of a button it raises and lowers and the quality is great. Hope this helps someone!

Best projector under $500
This projector is honestly the best you can buy under $500. I am using it for my home theater set up and it's great. First mounting the projector to the ceiling was a breeze. I did buy a celing mount and had no issues. Next was getting the picture adjusted was super easy using the remote. I flipped the image since my projector was upside down and focusing was easy as well. Lastly the picture quality is very impressing in dark rooms.

First projector was a dud, second one seems fine
I had to return the first model I received as it started flickering badly. Dynamic black was off and it was set to low brightness settings, but the lamp showed signs of failure after only a week of use and after 3 weeks it was clearly about to burn out. My previous Optoma projector lasted 18 months before dying. Fortunately it failed quickly enough for me to be able to get a replacement sent and it seems to work fine. I'll adjust my review if I start to have problems again.Customer service for Amazon and Optoma were helpful.

Extremely Pleased
I had an Optima projector for 12 years and was very satisfied. When it finally gave up, I bought an off-brand (VANKYO) replacement, which was very disappointing. I returned the VANKYO, and after comparing Optima, Epson, and other brands, chose this unit. I have been VERY pleased with my purchase. The image color and quality is terrific, including photos from my laptop or movies on my DVD/BlueRay player. I've only connected things through HDMI, but having other input options is nice in case they're needed. The built-in speakers are nothing to brag about, but I consider speakers in a projector as emergency backup, at best. The image quality is what I wanted, and it's definitely what I got through this Optima projector!

Great for 3D Blu-Ray movies
I bought this projector to relive and share the experience of seeing the movie Alita: Battle Angel in 3D with family and friends. Seeing Alita in an IMAX 3D theater was the best movie experience I've ever had, so I wanted to find an affordable way to bring the most spectacular and rewatchable movie I've ever seen home. Unfortunately, the Alita Blu-Ray won't be released until July 23, so I will have to update this review after that. I tried Pacific Rim with the Optoma HD143X projector, a 100" screen, and 3D DLP glasses, and my family loved it! For my family, it was the first time they saw Pacific Rim, and I don't think that they would have loved it nearly as much if it wasn't for the brilliant 3D video delivered by this projector. I used a Playstation 3 with an HDMI cable to play the 3D Blu-Ray for Pacific Rim, and I learned the hard way that in order for the PS3 to recognize the projector as a 3D device, the projector has to be turned on first and switched to 3D DLP mode before the PS3 is turned on. I've also connected a laptop to the projector with the HDMI cable, and brightly lit videos look great even in daylight. On the other hand, dark videos and movies look much better in a dark room than in daylight. I was originally concerned about active shutter 3D DLP glasses making the image darker, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the glasses didn't noticeably change the image quality. I was also able to find reasonably priced 3D DLP glasses. I originally wanted to a 3D TV, but affordable sets are hard to find since the major manufacturers discontinued them a few years ago. This projector convinced me that it is much nicer and more impressive to use 3D DLP projection on a 100" screen anyway.

Perfect Picture Projector
This projector is seriously perfect!!!! I was worried when my husband bought it because it wasn’t one of the top priced projectors and usually the higher the price, the better the product... but this proved that theory wrong! The picture is literally perfect and it’s just on my living room wall. It fits my wall at any size I would want it from small to the entire wall size and the picture isn’t affected it all. The sound from the projector is loud enough to not even need separate speakers. The sound fills my entire room without it being at max volume. It was easy to set up and I absolutely love having it.

Bought a Vankyo v600 first. Get this instead.
Tried to save some money by getting a Vankyo since it was $200 cheaper and had the same resolution. It wasn't as bright, had a lower quality 1080p picture and I could not get it focused. The screen would focus left to right instead of all at once. This projector is ten times better. It has a much better, brighter picture as well as a much quieter fan. Only complaint is the remote is too bright at night.

Amazing picture! I didn't expect this to lol as ...
Amazing picture! I didn't expect this to lol as good as my 1080p TV considering the screen would be 40 inches larger (100in) however my family and I were blown away with the picture. the black. levels are great! the contrast is amazing too. no input lag... waiting for my screen to be delivered I'm just projecting on a white wall for now

Day 1: I'm Extremely Impressed
I received this projector today, and set it up this morning. I've been using it for a few hours so I don't have much time with this. Later I will update the review if something changes. This is the updated version of the Optoma HD142x. It's got basically the same specs except the lamp for the HD143x supposedly lasts longer. That's the only information I could find that was different. So first off, I have only had experience with cheap projectors with weird, just different enough names to not infringe on trademarks. So if you are coming from a sub 200 dollar projector to this, your jaw will hit the floor when you see the differences. The picture quality is fantastic. I have just a little under 100 inches of screen, at about 9.5 feet throw distance. If you have a small room, this isn't a short throw projector, so you may not get the screen size you'd like. Tried some HD movies llke Blade Runner 2049 and Ghost in the Shell, and I was really impressed. You aren't going to get the blacks that you get on a plasma or OLED screen, but the colors were really vivid. Even with ambient light and lights turned on, the screen was still bright enough to watch without issue. The blacks turn into browns, but it is definitely watchable. I didn't notice any rainbow effect, either, which I guess is sometimes an issues with DLP projectors. I then hooked up my PS4 and tried out Horizon Zero Dawn, easily the best looking game on the system. The HD143x has a game mode in the menu settings that brightens the screen and does some things to fake an increase in FPS. This is noticeable. I could see the slight slowdown that usually occurs with lower FPS immediately, but I don't think it would be enough to hamper my playtime or my enjoyment. But if you are a pc gamer playing on a 120Hz screen and move to this, maybe not, I don't know if I'll be doing it. This projector doesn't have a lens shift, but it does have an electric keystroke, which is so much nicer than those analog keystroke levers you get on cheap projectors. It also has a 3 screw mount setup. Most of the universal mounts I found were for 4 screw setups, but I was able to make it work no problem. It's also extremely quiet. I'd say it's only slightly louder than my ceiling fan. It's a great projector. It's the best projector I've ever owned, but I only owned cheap ones prior to this, so I don't know how it compares to others in this price range. I think my dad may actually buy one for himself. He saw mine and wanted one. P.S. the projector doesn't have blue tooth, so if you want to sync it up to your blue tooth system, you'll want to get a transmitter. It has 1 usb port, but it is for power only, meaning you can't plug in a usb drive and play movies or music.

Click buy it now!! You wont be mad.
Been using optima for 10 years for my outside projector. No way you can argue with that. Smokes the Epson in the same price range 7000 more co trast ratio. Kids love it. Not waiting til pitch dark anymore for the fire pit movie. Deff a safe bet. Plus who needs the other features the 800$ ones come with. Unless you go 4000 lumens. The money isnt with it. $20 computer speakers. Worked perfect as the pair.
