but it works great on my spotting scope and telescope
I had my doubts about using this product with my Samsung S8 note, but it works great on my spotting scope and telescope.

Nifty Little Adapter!
I put this on my crossbow scope and it works perfectly with my iPhone X. Had to adjust it a bit until I got the right angle but now my pics and videos are exactly centered on where I am pointing my scope. Note: I had to put the mount on the scope opening opposite my eye as the scope main tube was too thin for the smallest setting on the thumb screw. Blessing in disguise because I get a much better picture/field from being right on top of the scope in a landscape view. Can't wait to take it out in the field and video the next harvest!

Great Adapter
Man I love this adapter. It works well with my binoculars and my monocular. I used it to take videos and pictures on both. It is also nice to be able to use the phone instead of the view finder to watch the Eagle. My wife and I were both able to watch at the same time. The attached photo was taken with my iPhone X attached to my binoculars.

the smaller padding works better; for some phones the bigger padding works better
There is a similar product with a catchier name for $8 more. I bought one of each. The only difference is that this one has slightly bigger padding on the sides where the gadget clamps onto your phone. For some phones, the smaller padding works better; for some phones the bigger padding works better. And you can always get scissors to trim the padding. Otherwise, identical parts and identical materials. This took a few minutes to clamp onto the microscopes at my school but we got the hang of it pretty quickly and got AMAZING images on the students' smartphones.

Great value piece of equipment.
As a big nerd, I’m a huge fan of this product. It works quite well on both fluorescent & light microscopes. It is equally at home on spotting scopes. It functions as a teaching aid too. Fits a regular iPhone 7 just fine.

It's a well built mount and does what it says. I have a Galaxy S8 with a fairly big case and it fits fine. I'd imagine it fits the vast majority of phones, including the larger ones. Everywhere your phone would come in contact with the mount is padded, so don't worry about scratches or anything. The mount is also extremely sturdy and made primarily of metal. I wouldn't go throwing it around, but I don't see it breaking with regular use. It's a major pain to try to fit your phone in and align it with the lens at night, but that's not really a problem with the mount. I've found that shining a flashlight through the front helps quite a bit.
