An essential tool if you fish braid
I used regular clippers since I started fishing. Cutting braid needed several tries and often ended up with frayed tag ends. I don't know how I fished without these snips in the past. This is a spectacular tool and worth every penny. If you do any kind of serious fishing using braided line, you need to invest in these. I attached them to my back pack and the 3 foot retractable cord is plenty long and keeps the snips always secure. I've been using them for several months now and have had no issue with either the snips or the retractable cord.

Cuts nice clean ends on braid
I liked this small unit from the time I first tried to use it, every time I snipped braided line it did the job of nice clean cuts. The small ends allow one to cut the line shorter than other devices, I haven't used it in salt water environment yet but it looks like it wasn't designed to take that kind of torture. So I'll mostly use it in freshwater environments.

ZING & SNIP all day long.
I no longer go fishing anywhere without, even when I stop for a quick couple of casts on a pond on my way home from work. It's been attached to another zinger with my hemostat, the only other tool I never fish without. I no longer worry about what damage I may be doing to my teeth by trying to bite through various nylon and mono-filament lines, even occasionally a braided line...(let's be honest, we all have tried to chew threw one). Nail clippers might be cheaper but heck, we all have a pair somewhere in the bottom our tackle boxes already and we still don't use them. Ease of use - very easy to use one handed, it slides out of the locked position without much pressure at all. It however is enough to keep it locked when marching around through the brush to your favorite fishing hole. Leaving you without having to worry about an open blade slicing open your ridiculously priced waders. Durability - ZING ZING ZING - me pulling the SNIP along it's line and letting go, just because. It's been soaked, dropped, sat on, and played with like a fidget-toy for all last season. I've fished with it for 3-5 times a week all year, making a ridiculous amount of cuts. So so many cuts...you really tie a sh*t ton of knots when you start fly fishing. Just spend the few bucks it costs to get this, it's worth it especially if you are a fly fishermen.

Cuts great
Not sure why so many complaints? I use Fireline by Berkly up to 30 lb test and these cut it nice and clean and quick! Also same with floro leaders. Only had these about a month but have not noticed a decline in performance after probably more than 100 or so knots tied in that time.

Umm they actually CUT braid
What do I like most about these? They actually CUT braid CLEAN... They're not overpriced. And did I mention they actually CUT braid CLEAN?? KVD's sometimes do, sometimes don't... .these always. One concern would be how long they hold up as they feel just a bit "light" shall we say... which is a good thing since you carry them around on your person, but will they last? At this price if I go through 2 a summer it's worth it. GOOD product.

Great little fishing scissors.
I have one of these clipped to the Millineum fishing seat on the front and rear deck. They are great. I've always been a line biter because I could never keep up with nail clippers or scissors but these are always there. I do have doubts that the self retracting tiny string that they are made with will last a long time but the back of the unit is held on by screws so I'd imagine that the string could be replaced when needed.

Easiest way to cut fishing line
These little snips are great. Having the clip and retractable line allows me to attach them right to my bag and grab them easily when I need them. They clip my line right at the knot with no issues at all. Once I let my friends try them when we went out fishing, they went and ordered them as well. I cannot speak to how well they will last over time since I bought them relatively recently but I doubt I will run into any issues. Would highly recommend.

If it's good enough for the pros (if you watch
If you fish with braided line then you must have this line cutter! If you fish with Mono or Floro you should have this line cutter! If it's good enough for the pros (if you watch, they all use them) then it's good enough for me! Seriously.... it works great and I can clip it (attach it) anywhere I need to. I highly recommend this and hell yes I would buy it again!

Wonderful!
These are great! Especially since they are just a little more expensive than the short nosed ones, you get more cutting area for just a little more money. My last pair was the short nose variety, and those were great, but only lasted about six months. These will probably last me a whole year.

Perfect for trimming ukulele strings
I own a lot of ukuleles and classical guitars and constantly change strings. This Boomerrang cutter is ideal for trimming nylon and fluorocarbon strings in small spaces like the tie block or headstock. Plus, it's safer than wire cutters, i.e., the compact size is less prone to slip and scratch the wood.
