I was skeptical at first, but after finding ants that were big enough (the first batch escaped in the night to never be seen again) I woke up to a series of beautiful tunnels etched into the gel! The ants worked furiously for several days but after a while they started slowing down and became very depressed. I tried rewarding their hard work with a skittle once or twice but they showed no interest in it and it absorbed into the gel. As time went on a few of them fell by the wayside and the ants buried their corpses in gel. That part was very interesting to see. Eventually more and more died until their was just one left and even though he was surrounded by death, he could still be seen working his little ant heart out til his last breath.

Great ant farm!

I ordered this ant farm for my daughter for Christmas last year. It is July and we still have living ants! Easy to assemble & easy to take care of. The only maintenance is to open the air hole once a day so the ants will get fresh air. I would highly recommend this ant farm.

The habitat is Awesome, I quite honestly did not expect much for the price but I am pleasantly surprised on how much I love this thing. I especially love the lights it is such a beautiful blue color I love love love this thing.

Fun time with my nephew!

My nephew really enjoyed this!! It is good quality and beautiful to watch at night. It was pretty easy to set-up and we had a blast watching the ants dig away :)))))

The company is very responsive

I am very satisfied with this product my kids like it a lot I ordered it for them just for something different to learn on how ants in other creatures can live they enjoy seeing it every morning and the different tunnels they're making it's just a really neat project to do with your children when I first ordered the cord was missing for the light I contacted the company they immediately sent me a cord for it and I also had an issue when I ordered my Ants they sent me the directions for the sand Ant Farm which stated to feed them so the ants started dying off so I contacted the company and that's when I found out they sent me the wrong directions with the ants and they immediately replace the ant farm so my children could experience them like they're supposed to in the correct way overall I'm very satisfied with the product and how quickly the company got back to me with my issues I would highly recommend getting this for your children or for your grandchildren or is it gift it's really neat and the light is a cool add on when they start digging there tunnels it aluminates them.

Very nice. I like the lights on the bottom--it creates a beautiful glow in which to watch the ants! There was a gap in the gel down one side. The ants don't seem to mind-they crawl down the gap and seem to be starting a tunnel from there as well as on top. The container was sticky when it arrived, but a wipe down cleared that up with no problems. Very nicely packaged, otherwise.

Great product!

This set up is pretty cool. I am using it in my Pre-K class and they are completely fascinated with it. We use the magnifying glass to see the ants during our circle time (and they can use it throughout the day). My own children like coming into my class in the morning before school and checking them out. I may get one for them for our home too. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful gift for kids

Bought this as a Christmas gift. This is what it looks like outside of the box. The kiddo I got it for absolutely loves it, the lights illuminate as pictured in the ad. It’s an awesome gift for kids who are interested in animals/science.
