I bought these for better communication on our yacht

I bought these for better communication on our yacht. Even with backup cameras, it is difficult to see when backing into a tight slip. These radios allow us to maneuver in tight quarters without yelling information back and forth. The sound is crisp and clear and the range is enough that we can also use them to communicate with the tender (dinghy) when away from the boat. I could have easily spent $350 on other radios, but there was no need. The fact that they also come pre-programmed with 16 channels means we can always find a clear channel to use.

Don't let the size and price fool you!

You get what you pay for and in this case that means a lot of features! These are really great walkie-talkies for the price and I am very pleased with them. The size is small enough to hide in a pocket, backpack, or other type of bag (you may have to remove the detachable antenna for some small bags); they come with 2 chargers, wrist straps, battery pack/back cover combos, combination earbud/mike, antennae, user guides, and belt clips. The belt clips are a little awkward to install unless you have a steady hand, a good eye, and a small Phillips screwdriver since they attach directly to the back of the unit; once installed, you are fine! The sound is amazingly sharp, clear, and totally understandable with no squelch or background noise. Since there is no LCD screen, a clear voice prompts you to what channel you are searching. VOX is a nice feature leaving you hands free and searches open channels. The range is amazing and can get up to 5 miles depending on terrain and weather conditions. I gave one to my 90 year old aunt to use to communicate with me if she needs something and she lives 5 blocks away! I heard her loud and clear as if we were in person or talking on a telephone. Also, between her home and mine are numerous buildings and hills and this picked up and sent signals with no problem. It charges to full in less than 3 hours. I like the size and it conveniently fits in the palm of your hand. I hate bulky items since I use a cane and can't carry much and this fits in my small shoulder "man" bag along with my wallet, mobile phone, keys, meds, etc. My only complaint is that they did not come with a storage case, but I can get one on Amazon that'll work when they are not in use. By the way, these sound so much better and easier to operate than a pair of professional communicators I bought years ago from Cobra. Like I said, don't let size and price fool you! I tried them out inside my house from the second floor to my garage and they were perfect with the signal going between floors and walls. Well done!

Great on a Cruise Ship

Lose the cell phone and switch to the two-way radio! Easy to carry. Worked inside and outside the ship. Recharged just like remembering to recharge my cell phone. Great way to keep in touch, way better than leaving notes in the cabin. No problem going through airport or cruiseship security. They will become standard gear when packing for the next cuise.

These radios are definitely the best deal you're going to find on Amazon. They are solidly built, relatively lightweight and have a nice range while maintaining a crystal clear send and receive. They are also on UHF frequency so there isn't a lot of interference from FRS/GMRS walkie talkies, which is what most people have in my neighborhood. The batteries are lithium ion, like a cellular phone, which is superior to nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride, and of course much better than having to put new alkaline batteries in every time they run low. The chargers function on 110v-220v, which is great since I am bringing these radios to Europe with me and they use a 220v@50htz over there. Another great detail about these walkies is you can get an upgrade on the antenna (basically just a longer "whip" antenna) which would give them an even longer range. For the money, I would give these radios 10 stars if I could. You will not be disappointed with the Arcshell AR-6 Two-way radios.

Easy to use and durable.

We are very pleased with this set of talkies. They are customizable for what you want as far as attachments and ear pieces. Even the kids liked the ease of use of these products. Battery life is great. Love the charging stations. The best feature of these talkies is the compact small thin size and the light weight of them. Sometimes I forget I have it on.

Cant beat the price.

I was looking for walkie talkies to be able to give my son a little more freedom. Hes too young for a phone but we wanted to let him go to the park thats about a half mile from our house by himself. After reading through lots of reviews i decided to try these out. For the price, i couldnt be happier. They cost about half as much as other brands and we tested them out and they reach pretty far. When he's at the park they come in loud and clear. Definitely the best bang for your buck.

Great long range UHF two way radios

We recently had a bad wind storm in our area that knocked out power, cell reception and internet service for 3 days. So we decided we needed to purchase "long range" walkies as an alternative means of communication during cell service outages. After doing some research I decided to go with these as they met most of our requirements. We live in a heavily wooded mountainous terrain area. Out of the box with the standard antenna I was able to get about a two-mile range. After upgrading the antennas (LUITON Nagoya 15.6" NA-771 antenna) I was able to double the range to approximately 4 miles. We live about 3.5 miles (line of sight) to the nearest town. Our house is up on a hill approximately 800 feet in elevation from downtown. I was able to communicate with my wife from downtown while she sat in our living almost as clear as cell phone quality. I'd imagine I probably could have gotten another half a mile to mile range, but have not tested it yet. The extended antenna definitely extended the range. We have not used them for any practical purposes other than testing them out. We will not be using them on a daily basis. They will sit on the charger until we need to use them. The batteries were charged out of the box, so I don't know how long it takes to charge them from dead. They are thin and very lightweight. They come with a belt clip, earpiece and lanyard. The belt clip was easy to install and seems pretty durable. The earpiece seems pretty cheap, but I doubt we will ever use it. I'm planning on purchasing two more, so we'll have backup radios and batteries in case anything happens to either of these two.

Good Value

Pretty amazing for the low price! I need to be able to communicate through 3 heavily steel reinforced concrete walls and I fully expected these units to fail at that task - but they didn't. Sound was excellent. My units will only see limited use so I can't comment on issues like durability and such. However, for my project its a great low cost solution.

Great Radios!

I have 3 jobs,one of them is doing security for big events,celebs,bands and private events....I bought these radios for private events cause radios are not always provided so I try to at least stay in contact with any partner I get or the person in charge...these are great! Even were the signal should be diminished cause of thick or metallic walls the audio doesn't distort...only issue I had was one of the hands free headsets included was defective but costumer service was great to me...they wrote me before I even tried to write them explaining that one headset was broken...Ashley took care of me very professional and courteously... The little light is great to get attention discretely instead of using a flashlight which gets a lot of attention if you're trying to communicate without having to speak.... I'm blown away by Ashley helping me as I can only run errands 1 day out of the week..I really appreciate everything she's done for me... Just an fyi the signal on these is different than regular radios I forgot the frequency but they dont link up with your avarage walkie talkie

AMAZING! i highly recommend buying from this company! ORIGINAL REVIEW: This set is ok for the price i guess. I didn’t really expect anything better though. First use was hunting with a buddy. Flat area and was able to communicate clearly. Next day there was a small hill seperating our distance (200 yards max) and we could not talk. Next trip was elk hunting around some crazy steep mountains. They were only good when we could see each other. Furthest distance maybe 200 yards
