After trying to install an ss drive multiple times and the macbook bit reading found out I needed to change this wire. Problem solved. Works great. No problems so far

This is an easier way to replace this cable because it includes the bracket. The only semi hard thing is bending the cable to fit. Otherwise it was easy. Took me 20 minutes and computer booted right up. Happy customer.

Very well-made, a must for using an SSD in your MacBook Pro. I had had trouble getting several Macs upgraded to use SSDs due to the poor quality of cable that Apple used. Replacing the stock sata cables with these made the SSDs work like a charm! You do have to have some technical know-how, a good light, and steady hands to replace this cable but if you search Google for instructions and take your time you'll have no trouble at all!

snugly fit into my mac, i had ruined a previous wire by bending it prior to installation.. this time, i only bent wires gently after whole wire was screwed down, and was ready to go. the price was also VERY reasonable as this same piece is close to $40 elsewhere. invest in the one (like this one) that has the new sleep sensor bracket replacement... much worth the extra $10...

fit perfectly, install was painless, fixed my computer not reading my hard drive.

Install was a pain due to all the bends required in the cable, however, once that was done.....my Macs SSD works again! Like many online videos show, I put some electrical tape on the machines aluminum of the Mac where this cable lays under the HDD to prevent micro abrasions to the cable which would make it fault like my old one. So far so good. Will update in a few months or if the cable fails unexpectedly.

After getting that dreaded folder with a question mark during startup, I went online to research the issue and it happened to be the Hard Drive cable. I purchased this cable which came with the bracket that made everything easier to install! Also, the sleep sensor is back and so far, my computer is running smoothly!

Macbook Pro would not boot up. Only thing displayed was a file folder with a flashing question mark on a white screen. On line searching results indicated that the cable could be bad. This cable was priced a little higher than others but was more parts complete than others which did make installation simpler. The part arrived as described and in less than 2 days with Amazon Prime. While it did take several attempts, ultimately I was able to communicate with the hard drive, erase it, and restore using a Time Machine backup. So, for very little out of pocket $, I was able to avoid having to buy another computer.

I've now installed two of these in MacBook Pro's (A1278) suffering from the dreaded " blinking question mark folder" issue and they both installed and worked perfectly. You can't ask more from a product than this. If you have an A1278 and the blinking question mark folder, this will likely cure the problem about 99% of the time- it is a known issue on this model. Installation is straightforward- there are videos and iFixit guides to help.
