Very easy to use
Love, love, love this product. Needed replacement for a 10 year old Braun that finally succumbed to daily use. That older model fit under our cabinet with the lid up. I always kept it open until it dried. Cannot do this with newer models thus the photo with the wooden spoon keeping it open. ( I am a stickler for mold and odor prevention). Back to the product. Very easy to program. Makes really good coffee. 12 cup will come in handy for guests. Right now we brew 3 cups daily. Great features are loop on filter basket holder and handle on gold tone filter to grasp for emptying coffee grounds. As mentioned before- the coffeemaker is simple to use and comes with manual that has easy to understand instructions. (Very beneficial for an elder husband). It has an attractive carafe and an automatic turn off in 2 hours. Heating plate keeps coffee hot until then. Uses charcoal water filters. Purchased generic filters from Amazon. Way cheaper than Cuisinart filters. Other reviewers have had problems with maker dying after short period of use. We’ve had it for almost a month thus far with no problems. Will update review if anything untoward occurs.

Perfect machine for ages 45+! Great coffee maker for "all day" coffee drinkers
Love this coffee pot! Extremely easy to operate with very basic "old school" switches and knobs. Easily program start time, automatic shut off time and the temperature of the hotplate! If you were born before 1970 and have been searching for a machine that can make a full pot of coffee and keep it hot all day, this is the machine for you!

GREAT COFFEE MAKER!
I had the previous model of this coffee maker. It lasted for 12 years before it began to leak and did a great job. After research, I ordered this model. I would have liked to have purchased the 12-cup, rather than the 10-cup model, but the larger capacity was too tall to fit under my cabinet in the kitchen. I'm happy to report the new version has been improved upon. First, it has a large area to pour the water. Even better, there is a water level indicator (by cups) on one side of the unit. This is really convenient and was a problem with the older model. The filter basket swings out and can be lifted out to rinse and/or clean. That is a really great improvement. By the way, the thermal carafe from the older model fits the new one perfectly. So now, I can brew two pots right in a row or make one regular and one decaf. That helps with having only a 10-cup capacity. The new model is smart looking and the controls are on the bottom. I like the features and it brews coffee fast! The only criticism I have is that when you lift up the lid to pour in the water, there are two screws that holds what I assume is the water line or pumping mechanism in place. One screw has already collected rust not the top, while the other is still beautiful chrome. Still, for the price, features and improvements, I couldn't ask for a better coffee maker. Love that thermal carafe. Great job, Cuisinart!

I bought this because it reads BPA-free - It does have plastic in construction, supposedly not BPA.
I searched high & low for a BPA free coffee maker. It was amazing how much time it took as well as how many coffee makers say they are plastic free but are not. This does not say plastic-free, but it does say BPA-free. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if the company is telling the truth, that I know of. The machine works fine, tho it can be a bit noisy & it has a tendency to leak onto the empty burner when I pour the water into the reservoir, tho these are minor nuisances. Also the vent for the steam to come out from the brewing area is toward the back of the machine so be mindful; if you plan to sit this under a cabinet, as the steam can damage wood placed over/near the vent. I have not brewed coffee in this yet & likely will use this one just for herbal tea. It is convenient as I can brew a large pot (12 cups) of tea and drink from it for hours. This was a good buy for a BPA unit, but honestly - if I had to do it over again, I would likely just save up the money & get a really marked down BUNN, which has no plastic in it at all. I understand it is unlikely a company would risk a (class action) lawsuit by selling/marketing a product as BPA free, which contains BPA - but this is not impossible, however unlikely. I for one do not trust any corporation to put my family's health first anymore & neither should you. The BUNN unit is over twice as costly but there is no plastic in it at all. Supposedly the thing performs like a tank too. This was a good unit for the $60 I paid, it seems to work fine for now. The clock clouds up a lot, due to steam, so I figure this may well be the first function to go, but who knows. Overall, the item seems ok, I am just disappointed I was not informed that the brewer DOES CONTAIN PLASTIC, just not BPA plastic - they say. Overall, I am happy with the product, but just - buyer beware of those few items to consider.

Since we loved the old one I ordered this new one from ...
Our 15 + year old Cuisinart coffee maker "died", leaving us with nothing to brew coffee. Since we loved the old one I ordered this new one from Amazon and it arrived in just a few days. Now life is back to normal again and I'm hoping it will last as long as our original one did.

What a great cup of coffee!!
The most important thing: it makes REALLY GOOD coffee. I needed to replace my much-used Krups. To order the same thing (which made good coffee) would have taken too long (not in stock at Amazon) and the latest model of the Krups received bad reviews. Based on reviews I made the leap to pay a bit more and go with the Cuisinart. WOW. What GREAT coffee! I've heard people describe a cup of coffee as "smooth" and now I know what that means. I like the retro look of the machine and it fits in nicely with my other stainless steel appliances. Two points of caution/advice: the directions reference measuring coffee grounds in teaspoons, yet a standard scoop (like the one that came with it) is a tablespoon measure when leveled off (or if you're like me, I go with a rounded scoop. So the directions seemed odd; and in the directions they caution you not to over-fill the filter. I was making 12 cups of coffee so used my standard 6 rounded scoops of coffee. BIG MISTAKE. In the morning I came down to a MESS...coffee and grounds everywhere. My old machine could handle this; this one not so much. But I was warned. With trepidation, after spending 30 minutes cleaning up, I made another pot, but limited myself to 10 cups of H20 and 5 scoops. No problem. And the second point of caution: for the 10 percent of the population who is left-handed like me, pouring the water into the small opening on the right side of the machine is a bit of a challenge. I'm used to being a lefty in a right-handers' world so I'll manage (and keep a towel at hand). My complaints are minor and really are more due to rookie operator error and being a lefty. Despite these, this machine definitely earns my 5-star rating.

Good purchase and recommend it.
Works and looks great! I used the automatic on setting for the morning coffee, and the 1-4 cup setting for a maximum flavor. No need for coffee filters since the machine comes with a reusable filter that works pretty well. The machine stays on after brewing for an hour by default so your coffee keeps warm for a while after brewing (I believe you can set this for longer) Note: for the best tasting coffee you must grind coffee to Medium-grind. If you grind the beans too fine is going to result in watery coffee with a bitter taste! One con is that I wish I could remove the water fillerso that I clean it regularly. However, the machine has a light alert for self cleaning.

Great Coffeemaker!!! I Love It!!!
Being unable to go out for filters for my Cuisinart Coffeemaker, I decided to order them. In doing so there was an indication that I had purchased this particular coffeemaker in December 2006. I was truly amazed because it is still the same one I purchased then and I didn't even realize I have it as long as I do. I have used this coffeemaker every day since then and it has obviously withstood the test of time. I have used every feature available (from brewing on the spur-of-the-moment, using the 2-4 cup feature, and programming it so as to wake up to the aroma of fresh coffee waiting for me. I have always taken good care of it and never had any type of problem with it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdy and reliable coffeemaker. As a matter of fact, I would purchase it again should something go wrong with it. My only regret is that I never wrote a review prior to today.

Great, simple coffee maker
I've only brewed two pots of coffee so far, so I may post an update after more use, but so far, so good. I was concerned about some complaints about functionality and heat in the reviews section but decided to buy anyway. No, the lids and water measurement aren't perfect, but these are nearly insignificant inconveniences that are forgotten after a day or two of learning. And as to the heat - my coffee is sitting in front of me right now cooling down because it's a little too hot. Overall: Great, simple coffee maker that does exactly what I bought it for.

This coffee pot is awesome. It makes mediocre palatable
This coffee pot is awesome. It makes mediocre palatable. We have used inexpensive and expensive coffee types in the coffeemaker. Both work well. You will need to find the one that you personally like best. I personally like being able to program for the morning and know it's done when I want it . Easy to clean. It shuts off after 2 hours if you forget to. It's a 12 cup capacity which comes in handy for extra people over. There is a clock on the front. It's not big, but is visible. All the functions are done with knobs under the clock. The pot itself has an easy pour. It doesn't slosh all over. The only not easy part for me, was the back area where you pour the water into the reservoir. I bit awkward, but doable. I liked enough to have bought 2 more as gifts. Both recipients loved them
