Dont let a few bad reviews keep you from having the best of both worlds!!!!
Works flawlessly on both sides. For those that gave the pictures of blown up kcups etc its because they DIDNT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! its not the exact same as a keurig brand kcup dispenser. You press and click the kcup down in the bottom before closing the lid and you will never have that issue. The brewing mesh works perfect and saves you from buying filters as well as the kcup side for single serve loose coffe. Just clean the mesh filter and you're good to go! :-)

Working perfectly after at least six months
As others have said, I bought this for the convenience of having one appliance do it all. We mostly drink a full pot of decaf in the morning, but the occasional cup of regular is nice. Sometimes, I need just one more cup after the decaf pot is empty. And we have friends who only drink regular. So, this is perfect. I have put off writing a review (actually, I've never written one) because I've been waiting for this unit to break or otherwise become unsatisfactory. Not yet. Here are some things I've learned. In my experience, the mess in the single-serve side is the fault of the commercial k-pod. I had a Donut Shop pod explode all over recently, and it was a mess, not to mention hard to clean (I finally tipped it on its side and used my faucet spray to get all the grounds out). The cover on the pod was not properly sealed, and grounds spewed all over. The other complaint that it's hard to fill is valid. If Cuisinart is in the mood to re-fabricate, moving the reservoir to the other side would be a good move. I simply fill the carafe with an extra cup of water so I don't have to tip the pot at an awkward angle, and I don't put the coffee in until the reservoir is filled. If you don't need filtered water, using the pullout hose on your faucet works like a charm, and the water level gauge is very easy to read. I also noticed that the single-serve basket needed to be firmly snapped in place and lined up with the white arrow to work properly. So, yes, there are some convenience issues, but they are not difficult to adjust to. I've tried all the features, and all have worked fine. And, it makes great coffee!! Wonderfully hot, even on medium. Hope it doesn't break on me after writing this review. I'll be in touch if it does.

Perfect combination coffee maker
I have been comparing coffee makers and reading reviews for some time. I like this Cuisinart and was watching pricing on it for some time. When Amazon offered it at a low price for Prime customers just before Christmas, I treated myself and bought it. My family teases me because of the many coffee makers that I gone through over the years, but nothing made good hot coffee. I was using a 12 cup drip maker and a single Keurig but they took up valuable counter space, and I hated the non-degradable K-cups. This Cuisinart is a perfect combination! The single cup side can use a K-cup, and the (included) mesh basket makes wonderful tasting coffee although the bottom of a cup includes fine grit (same as a Keurig) so I don't finish the cup. It is easy to switch out the inner piece. The coffee is hot, which is how I like it. When making a single cup, the coffee does tend to squirt around I just clean the back splash area when I'm done. The drip side coffee also comes out hot and wonderfully tasting. I tried the gold filter but prefer using a paper filter to solve the gritty particles in the last cup. The drip coffee maker is easy to use, and I like the versatility-choose hot plate temperature and bold coffee feature. As other reviewers have said, filling the 12 cup side can be messy. I use a 2 cup measuring cup so that I spill less water and can watch the water guide on the side. I grind my own dark roast coffee and this coffee maker is perfect for me. I am so happy with it. I trust the Cuisinart name and am happy to get a good deal on Amazon as usual.

All-In-One Coffee Station
Using twice a day for one month with perfect results. Setup was easy using supplied manual. I have read all the reviews about leaking but I have not experienced any issues. I don’t see the need to continuously remove the single cup water reservoir which could be causing the leaks that some users are experiencing. I just use the supplied 12 cup carafe to fill the reservoir. For me it’s easier and makes for less wear and tear on the reservoir seal by continuously removing for filling. If the splashing while using the single cup side to fill a dainty, raise you pinky finger to drink, cup is a problem use a taller cup or a mug. Problem solved. Supplied reusable filter cup is easy to use and the capsule holder works perfectly when directions are followed to align the arrows and snap into place. Either using the 12 cup side or the single cup side this coffee maker has and does everything. It’s truly a all-in-one coffee station.

The best!
I've had many coffee makers over the years and this is by far the best. Most of the makers I have had were Cuisinart brands, but 2 were Keurig (one was the newest model) I love this machine and have not found any issues in the few weeks I've had it. I generally make a pot of coffee in the morning and use the single serve in the afternoon or evening. I have used several types of coffees and each one tastes great. It is easy to use and clean. Very happy with this purchase.

The k cup works great if you use grounds instead of pods u must ...
I've read several reviews on here and I'm disagreeing with the haters! The k cup works great if you use grounds instead of pods u must clean it. To prevent clogging. Read the manual it states to clean the POD piercer with a small paper clip to prevent it from clogging You do need to have a taller mug to avoid the splashing but remember it's an open cup water pouring into it will splash its miniscual drops. I've used mine daily it's great quality ive had NO issues and it def hasn't broke!! The coffee is hot and the ability to set the carafe temp is awesome!!! The K cup side has a silver top it's actually s release lever you gently lift up on. It's a wee stiff at first as most new things are. So be gentle your first few uses. Make sure you use the grounds pod if using your own coffee DO NOT PUT GROUNDS INTO K CUP PIERCER IT WILL CLOG IT COMES WITH A BASKET FOR GROUNDS FOR SINGLE CUPS I LOVE IT!!!!!! Cuisinart did well this time I've compared to other brands ranging in price from 60-160.00 most are flimsy and cheaply made But this one is the BEST I'm not sure how some of these reviews match this pot I want to say they posted incorrectly But this is a great product 10 STARS

Absolute great buy...!!!!
So I read all of the reviews before I bought this, and a number of them weren't good... I really wanted the coffeemaker and have been happy with cuisinarts before, so I went for it... I have to say that after reading and following the instructions and trying every option for brewing it offers, this is the best and most versatile coffeemaker I have ever owned in my life... it does it all,... does it perfectly,... and makes great coffee and works perfectly... definitively worth the price.

It makes terrific coffee and all features work as they should
Arrived with only manufacturer's packaging, not even taped closed, but completely intact and undamaged. We've only had it a month and a half, but it makes terrific coffee and all features work as they should. We ordered this to replace our third failed Keurig in eight years, and we think this machine makes better single-serve coffee than the Keurig (using same brand and type of coffee pods). It uses different engineering than Keurig, so we thought from how it was working that it was defective, until we tasted the result!. It's also great waking up to 12 cups of Joe in the AM, all ready to go. The "Bold" setting adds value to this device, too.Cleanup is quick and painless. Use the carafe and some common senseless to fill the 12 cup reservoir and it won't be that difficult. The single serve reservoir detaches for easy clean and fill up, which is convenient. We hope it lasts for a few years so we don't have to change this review. Loving it, so far.

Love, Love, Love this Coffee Maker
Have been using this at work for small office for the last 2-3 months and had no problems. We enjoy brewing pots in the morning (choice of three burner warming temperatures has been handy) and brewing single cups in the afternoon. Have had absolutely no problems using a variety of K-cups. I actually bought a Keurig 575 first but a decided to return before I used it in favor of this model - and I am glad I did. Looks great, simple to use right out of the box. Keeps water hot during the day and brews coffee quickly - no screwing around! If you have enjoyed your other Cuisinart Coffee makers, you will love this one too.
