good stone
its flat - it does what its supposed to. After flattening my whetstones, my plane Iron is predictable again. Even brand new whetstones in the 20-40 dollar ish price range need to be flattened before the first use. If you don't flatten your whetstones, you should, I was rather surprised how un-flat mine actually where. even though when sharpening... it seemed like the stone was flat.

Flat, cuts pretty quickly
I checked the flatness of this stone by holding a metal ruler up to it and looking against a light source. I can't see any issues by eye, which is flat enough for my purposes. I used it to flatten 3 water stones on both sides, for a total of 6 sides. The stones are exactly the same size as the flattening stone, and the worst one had a 1-2 mm dip in the middle. That one took about 20 minutes of work on each side. The others (which were flatter to begin with) took 5-10 minutes per side. If you do this after every sharperning sessions this shouldn't take more than a minute or two per stone. I didn't notice any abrasion on the flattening stone, so I think this will be good for years to come. The channels in the stone help with collecting the abraded parts, and the stone washes easily. Overall great product for a great price, would highly recommend.

Works Perfectly
I have no complaints, this stone cut quickly and easily. It did not clog like other stones and diamond stones I have used for re-leveling. I was skeptical in the beginning, but am rather pleased with this product, I would definitely buy again and recommend.

Worked perfect
Wish I had bought one of these much earlier. It worked perfect and brought back my stones to a new surface. Sharpening is now way faster. Should last a lifetime.

Aggressive grit for flattening all of my stones
So I didn't flatten my stones in over a year. Tried using 80 and 110 grit sandpaper but with the clogging, I was wasting sandpaper. This flattening stone is more aggressive and under running water, flattened my waterstones really quickly (~5 - 10 minutes per stone)

Works well
I finally purchased a flattening stone because my water stones were dished out pretty bad. It took about 10 minutes to flatten it. Very happy with the purchase... also if you're wondering the flat side is basically another sharpening stone... I'm gonna guess the grit size is like 60.

Works as advertised.
The stone works as advertised. I was able to level my King ceramic stones with minimal effort. The stone arrived in a well padded box and was perfectly level. If you are looking for a leveling stone, I would recommend this without reservation.

Hands down best flattening stone for the money!!!
This thing is absolutely amazing! It is akin to a hard, rough brick. I have leveled and flattened 6 stones that were horribly misshapen and I lost less than 1 mm of height. Also, even though it is grooved, hard, and coarse, it is still slow acting enough to not seriously diminish softer stones. However, that does mean it will take a LONG time to flatten hard stones, but you should take a couple minutes after/before each sharpening session to flatten it so the stone does not get to that point. I have spent almost $100 with other flattening stones because they wore down too fast. I will be surprised if I spend that within the next 5 years on these stones TOTAL. I do advise to let the stone do the work for you. Apply light pressure while using the entire flattening stone (back and forth and circular motions). Keep the whetstone wet, but you can honestly use this wet or dry. From what I can tell, having this soaked along with the whetstone is a little slower, but more controlled. Using it dry speeds the process, but not by much.
