Great for textbooks and speed reading.

I've always had trouble skimming books and retaining the necessary information, often having to go back and re-read bits. These have helped immensely. It takes a little bit to get used to using them, but once you do you can start to work on increasing your reading speed by moving the ruler down the page a bit faster, "forcing" your eyes to follow it. I've been reading a lot more since getting these. The different colors don't seem to make a difference for me, but it's nice to have multiple to leave in different books as bookmarks. Don't forget to take off the protective coating, they're murky otherwise.

These were successful!

I am a teacher, and I was looking for something I could use daily for my diagnosed dyslexic students to help them read. This summer, I have been tutoring and broke out the colored rulers I purchased. They worked so well! I was surprised at how successful they were, and now I can’t wait to share them with my fellow teachers. The darker colors had more success than the lighter ones, but I can’t wait for school to start next week so that I can really get some use out of them! What an excellent tool to encourage learning and the love of reading!

Helps students track when reading

I’m a teacher and I use this product with students who have difficulty teaching line to line. I like this tracker because it allows students to see the lines that follow. Other tracker so have used isolate only one line of text at a time. While there are benefits to that, I find that it disrupts a student’s fluency- they have to pause, move the strip before continuing on. These strips have a line which focuses students on the current line of text, but also allow them to see the next few lines, and practice moving their eyes to the next line more quickly. These are the best ones I have purchased so far.

Good for contrast sensitivity

I got these for my son after I figured out he has contrast sensitivity (which explains why he prefers comic books or other books with short blurbs of text on colored backgrounds). We looked at several different tinted sheets/strips before deciding on these rulers. We liked that none of the lines of text would be blocked out but that there was a line to help with tracking. My son is 10 and has struggled with reading for years despite not having any known disability and testing as having great comprehension. Apparently it was just painful for him. He says they help a lot.

It Works!!!!

Hello. Yes. We have used the reading rulers and my daughter who is 7yrs old and dyslexic loved them immediately. Currently blue is her favorite color but she likes to change it up sometimes. She keeps one in all her reading books. Prior to these rulers, I would tell my daughter to use her finger or I would fold a piece of paper to help guide her reading so she wouldn’t lose her place. But neither one of these helped much. But so far with these line rulers in so many colors has really changed the struggle of “I don’t want to read” to “it’s my turn to read”. She’s keeping her place and I see her confidence coming back. I can’t believe something so simple has made such a difference. Thank You!!!! Alicia J

Jumbo size overlays

The size of these overlays are nice and big compared to other highlighted strips I've purchased. I find the little ones don't struggle as much to line up the text with these. There is a line to put under or over the section of text you're reading, but you're not encumbered by trying to fit it in a small highlighted area. My students who use it, say that it helps them to read. I have seen an improvement-it definitely focuses them. I also like that there are a several colors to choose from.

I'm in college and use these!

I really adore these! I use them as book marks as well as readers. Bright but not so bright in the eyes that it is off-putting, these are fantastic when it comes to reading my textbooks. Sometimes my textbooks are too wordy/have to many paragraphs that I actually read the same lines over again and these really help to guide my vision regarding the lines! Also! I like that I can see what I have previously read whether I read with the line on the or bottom part of the readers. I prefer to read with the line at the bottom so I can see what I just read and can review easily! I have used other readers where you only get enough room for 1 line and the line before and after the reader space is blocked off and honestly I prefer these. This is because, personally, when I read with the centered type readers, I'll forgot what I just read. I would definitely buy more of these They are useful and the seller is awesome!

The kids love it!

I originally had purchased this tool for my niece, but after seeing how effective it was for her, I snuck one of them to work. The colors are super cute, the tool is flexible, and very thin so it does not take up much space. Working in an office, my eyes do tend to cross from how much I stare at papers and a computer. These rulers made it easy for me to keep on track while never losing my spot while reading. Not only do I recommend this product for those of you who rely on your eyes for work, I also recommend this tool for all ages, and for individuals who wear prescription glasses.

Wonderful Homeschooling Tool for Autistic Son

I bought these to use for our Summer Reading assignments as a homeschooling mother to an Autistic 13 year old son. He has a hard time getting easily distracted from what he's reading and I found he was filling in the stories with his own assumptions of what was happening instead of referring back to the texts when the time came to recount details from the stories. These are wonderful, simple tools that have been amazingly beneficial to his reading comprehension progress and he now asks for them when he has an assignment to complete. I noticed that he will also reach for them and read for pleasure, whereas this used to not be the case at all! I have tried everything from expensive iOS applications to reward charts and incentives to get him to stay on task and further his comprehension of texts when reading. These simple rulers are easy to use, require no chargers or batteries, and have been the most beneficial tool for him that I've found since he first started reading in elementary school. I wish I had found them sooner! Shipping was fast (of course), and they are extremely durable and well-made. We are getting ready to begin a new school year in the Fall and I have no doubts these will be utilized daily in just about every subject to keep him focused and on task!

Great reading tool.,

My 7 year old granddaughter has been identified as a struggling reader. She sees a reading specialist at her school 3 times per week. I work with her every morning before school. Since purchasing these reading rulers, her fluency has improved, and her self-confidence has definitely improved. We tried all the colors. Those in the blue family appear to be the most beneficial. She keeps one in her pencil case so she can use it at school. We are both very pleased with its apparent benefits. She is now beginning to enjoy reading again.
