Excellent Motion Detector for Shorter Ranges

The device comes paired and with batteries installed. The range of 16' could maybe be met under some specific conditions. We bought these units primarily to detect our cat wanting in at the door. We installed one transmitter on the ceiling just above the top of the door jamb (7' from the floor). Our 15 lb. cat walks freely under it without setting it off. We adjusted that transmitter position and now use it for people detection and installed the 2nd transmitter at cat level. We assigned different sounds to each transmitter, so now we can tell if it's a cat or a person at our door. The system is super easy to use. For full, proper, secure installation of the transmitter bases, you do need to drill 2 holes large enough for the anchors to fit in but the transmitters pop right in and out of the base for easy battery changes, chime changes, etc. Some folks have suggested this system detects heat and not motion but that is NOT our experience. We've passed a number of items that are "room" temperature past the receiver and it detects them all. It even detects relatively small pieces of paper dropped in its line of vision - it just doesn't have the level of sensitivity for smaller items at a greater distance. I have already recommended this product to my family. Don't bother with the Asurian protection because if your unit is the same as mine, it'll come with a free lifetime warranty.

This works great for our little store. We have a double front door and only one motion detector needed to be put in to catch motion through the entire walkway area when both doors are open. Would buy again.

Wow! Exceeds any expectation I had. Works wonderfully. Using one for a door bell of sorts and the other for a driveway alarm.

Excellent Product

This product works great! They were purchased for a residential facility for teens to notify overnight staff if a client is out of their room. They are very sensitive and the fact you can set each alarm to make a different sound is super helpful! This far they have proven durable and we have not had any of them break. Down side is the main unit that notifys you of movement has to be plugged in, wish it was battery operated so we could carry it around with us!

I know someone is at my home before the doorbell rings.

I have these in 3 places around my yard and now know if someone is in the area before they show up at my door. I do get some false alarms when the suns heat is shimmering near my house from one, though.

Works like a charm!

I have one of the detectors on the front porch with one chime and another over the garage door with a different chime. Works great! I have had a few "false alarms" from full sun or flying birds over the garage, but that is OK with me. It only does one chime and I know if it is a car or person it will have more than that so I just ignore those. Easy to assign chimes.

Nice but too short of a distance needed between sensor and alarm

I like the announcement. I sit way in an office in the back and the sensor allows me to hear when someone walks in the front door. However, the sensor has to be installed close enough to the alarm in order for it to work.
