Must have, Go To appliance
I did quite a bit of research and read many reviews of different electric pressure cookers. I decided on the IP Max for two main features - stainless inner pot and 15 PSI for canning function. My IP arrived as advertised and no damage. I read the manual and followed the instructions for the initial water test which I was able to do in about 15 minutes. The touchscreen makes the IP extremely easy to operate. I have only had my IP for four days and have already used it every day. All food that I have cooked in it has turned out perfectly. The first meal I cooked was shrimp fried rice! I have also done oatmeal, omelet/breakfast bowl and meatloaf/mashed potatoes. There is one thing I would caution other IP Max users - the default saute function temperature is higher than other IP models so you really need to watch/stir the food to avoid burning it. I will use the custom setting to set my own temperature in the future.

The Best Instant Pot Ever
My first IP was the Ultra and it is a great cooker. This one, however is even better. It has fewer presets and much more ability to customize. The top autoseals and has 3 venting modes: none, pulsed, and quick release. You never touch the vent-it's all done with the touch screen. You can also customize the temperature for sautéing and sous vide. I highly recommend this model.

Many features.
I already have an 8 quart lux but wanted the option to make yogurt. Have used it four times. It’s great. Only ‘negative’ is that altitude can only be adjusted to 6200 feet and I’m much higher than that.

Great Multi-Use Appliance
We wanted a slow cooker with a stainless insert instead of ceramic. The Instant Pot was the best one for what we were looking for. It's does it all..it takes a bit to get used to the settings but after a couple times using it...it's easy. Made chicken thighs in 20 minutes (awesome) and Beef Bourguignon in 35 minutes (excludes the cooling pressure time)...and it was SPECTACULAR...rich flavor, tender meat... Love it... Still haven't used it as a slow cooker...

Great pressure Cooker!
I debated choosing between the Max and the 6 qt Duo Plus. Since price was not an issue I chose the Max because it is the most versatile. The automatic multi mode steam vent is a very useful Feature. Although I most likely won’t use the canning feature, the sous-vide feature will get some use. The digital touch panel is great and makes the pot look much nicer! You dont need all the button selected presets on the other models since every recipe is just a combination of steam pressure, time and venting method. All of which one has total control of with the Max. The pot sautes well and you can select low high or custom heat levels. So far i am vry pkeased with the product.

Instant pot is teaching ME how to cook! About time I learned.
I am no chef in the kitchen, my husband does alll of the cooking for us. This instant pot was recommended by my friends mother, who makes Indian food, and has been teaching me how to cook properly. Since purchasing this, we have cooked a lot more diverse foods, that would otherwise be time consuming and complex. Instant pot max is my preferred model, with the automatic pressure release, its nearly fool proof. We have since purchased two of these, as we love to make large batches for eating later. ONE NOTE: when finding recipes online, you have to adjust for the 15psi difference, or change the setting on the max. Your food will burn if you do not change either the time or pressure to account for differences. Happy cooking!

LOVE my IP!
I can’t say enough good things about the Instant Pot! It’s so easy to use and really cuts cooking time in half depending on the dish. There’s also no need to thaw meat. I use it for most meals now. Thinking about a second one! (Ikr- you hear people talking about having more than one and you think they’re crazy, right?! Me too .. before I owned one of my own!! Now I understand the craze. Absolute must-have in the kitchen!! I recommend reading reviews on the different models, joining an IP group (or two) online -they have fabulous advice, recipes, tips/tricks, etc., and shopping around for a good deal (they’re everywhere), before buying one so you know you’re getting the right model for your personal wants and needs. I chose the Max b/c right now it’s the only model that has a digital pressure release valve which makes it completely hands-off for me (meaning the user doesn’t have to release the pressure by hand, which means less chance of burns). I personally think the Max is a little over-priced compared to the other models, but it’s great if you can catch a good deal.

For me a great product
Highly recommend this product to people that have experience in cooking and want control not preprogrammed buttons. I have even been able to Sous Vide with it to great results. Anyone struggling to do this should add their vacuum sealed contents and fill the unit with water to the max fill line. Take the package out and preheat the water on a cook top to the desired temp before putting it back in the unit. Once you put the water back in and set the programming it will still take a bit before the cook cycle starts. Don’t panic! I am assuming that the control unit is determining the fall rate of temp and heat to maintain. Good luck!

I like it
It is my go to pot when I need a 6qt. Cooked a 3 lb bag of organic (whole) russet potato's in 1 minute (cook time) at 15 psi and they turned out perfect. I really like the automatic steam release programming.
