• The Scorch Marker is a revolutionary, new way to complete wood burning projects. Simply prep your surface by sanding to at least 220 grit. Then shake your Scorch Marker and apply your design. Once you have completed your design, apply heat. the design will begin to burn into the wood. The more heat you apply, the darker the design! This is best accomplished with a heat gun, but an oven can also be used (350 F until desired affect is achieved).
  • Simple and easy to use design is ideal for precise wood burning projects
  • Odor free and non-toxic chemical wood burning pen
  • 3 mm chisel tip with dispensing valve for improved accuracy and application
  • Works on most types of wood, for best results, sand to 220 and apply a light stain or oil prior to using the Scorch Marker

Wow! I ordered this and something happened with 2 day delivery. I ordered it for some ideas about signing my woodwork agter seeing other applications of it on Instagram. I was pretty anxious to get it and the wait was unbearable! So it came and I rushed to go try it out. I used it on a small piece of unfinished, unsanded 2×2. It worked perfectly and gave the desired results. So now I'll be using it on sanded wood as that's what it's going to nees to get the desired effect. I have some great ideas of using templates for this, using it as a marker in colored art to buikd shadows, throwing in a 3D effect on other art. The fluidity of this marker is amazing and it will add new creations to the market like never before! So it's well worth the price in my opinion and does exactly what it says. It can be used by anyone, just sand the surface first with a fine grit. My kids are ready to use it even! Get the marker and make cool things with your family. Get the marker and make amazing things for your clients! Enjoy the Scorch!

This pen is so easy to use and goes a long way! I absolutely loved it! Would highly recommend. You can stain over the top, just be cautious of the color as it will change the burn marks.

This is a great product. I've experimented with heat activated chemical wood burning before and was underwhelmed by a lack of control and sloppy application. The scorchmarker changes that though! The pen gives me complete control of my design and it works even when the product starts to dry. The pinkish hue makes it easy to see where to direct my heatgun. It's quick and easy to cover large areas. The light surface-level burn that it makes is a new addition to my photography toolbelt. I will say that due to the nature of the product, it does seep into wood grain SOME times. But combined with my Colwood woodburning tool... I'm on fire now!! 🔥

Love this pen! Was skeptical at first when I read it had not worked well for some folks. Gratefully, it worked wonderfully for me! I made this set of coasters as my first project and LOVE them! So easy to use and with a proper heat gun on high did not take long at all to burn! The only negative I have is that there doesn't seem to be alot of liquid in the pen and the tip has already worn a bit after one project. All in all though I will definitely be purchasing more of these!

That's the 1st piece I made using this product and I have to say I love it. It works very similar to a paint pen. The effect that it creates on wood is almost like a charcoal drawing on paper. It creates a smooth gradient effect that helps for blending. I also like that the chemical turns the wood pink because that makes it easier to see what areas you may need to torch.

Fun fact #1: I LOVE crafting...I love learning new skills, and making things for my home, my friends, my family, my Facebook feed, etc... Fun fact #2: I am lazy, and procrastinate often. I often buy crafting materials that sit around in my ever-growing stash waiting for me to become inspired enough by Pinterest, or Instagram to actually heave myself from my comfy spot on the couch, and make the thing. Fun fact #3: This scorch marker is SO easy to use! And it has near instant results! And I was able to make a test project of four monogrammed wooden coasters, using a stencil, the marker, and a heat gun in less than 20 minutes. My lazy, crafty self did a little dance...I swear! After I was done, had admired the results, and had sent pictures to my contact list for affirmation of cute-and-craftiness, I flipped them all over and added my initials and the date. I then popped them in a 350F oven and checked them after 5 minutes. My maker's mark was visible, but not quite dark enough, so I left them in for another minute or two before I was satisfied with the results. The original design on the front deepened in color, but the surrounding wood didn't darken. All kidding aside, the marker is easy to use. It worked well with my plastic stencils, and with my flimsier vinyl stencils. It works as described with a heat gun, and it worked fine in the oven, too. (I had to play with that method a bit as there are no directions for it on the package, nor was I able to find any online...even YouTube let me down!) I foresee a few more "faux-pyrography" projects in my future...a few wooden signs with smartass quotes, maybe a set of mixing spoons, a cutting board or two, a picture frame, or some wooden jewelry. It IS a pricey marker, I don't know how much mileage I will get out of the pen, but you don't need much to make a big impact either.

This is a pretty cool addition to my woodshop and adds a unique touch to the projects I build. I use a sticker cutter to make stencils, then I just color them in, take the stencil off, put a heat gun to it, add some stain, and seal the wood...boom, you have completely unique pieces that will make all your friends jealous. Lol. Works great on soft woods with minimal knots, but can be used on harder woods. YouTube is your friend when it comes to tips and techniques. Will buy again.

This is an incredible tool for the do it yourselfer and wood working lovers! I got this delivered today and went straight to work with it. The only caveat I can see is when using it on raw wood vs stained. If you are planning on a very detailed piece of work with crisp lines, i.e. stencil work, absolutely stain or treat the wood first, as this is a liquid and is absorbed and spread by the raw wood easily. You can see the difference in my picture above. Overall, a huge time saver and valuable tool in my toolbox! Will definitely be purchasing more soon!!
