This Miracle Grow Composter is GREAT for Bokashi Composting

Easily one of my best purchase investments for 2019, I purchased this heavy-duty 105L dual composter from Miracle Grow (a brand name I trust) to aid in my family's process of bokashi composting. We begin with an indoor 5 gallon bokashi compost bin, and when the bin is full of food scraps and bokashi, we empty it into one of the large rotating bins and add a bit of leaf litter and give it a few turns before closing it and allowing it to further ferment while we begin filling another indoor bin. This is a GREAT composter that was indeed a bit difficult to assemble correctly so that it is completely tight and sealed right for no leaks. But when correctly assembled it is a heavy-duty and resilient composter that just survived one of the worst Missouri winters in recent history. Very durable, and I HIGHLY recommend this extra large composter to others who need a composter for their garden.

New to composting

I am just getting started with composting and heard the tumblers would be the best option for my family. These arrived on time and in good condition. It didn't take me long to set everything up, maybe 20-25 minutes. It seems sturdy enough. The bins turn easy. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. I just hope I can keep my dogs out of the bins!

This arrived and was quick to assemble, its much larger than I expected and holds a ton! I like that it has separate chambers that allows for things to go and their own pace. very sturdy design! I am a homesteader that composts A LOT of food and garden waste so this is ideal. Make sure to put it in a sunny spot for accelerated composting!

Read all of the reviews before purchasing this tumbler, and my main concern was the difficulty to put it together. However, I put together the entire compost tumbler (minus the drills into the metal on the legs) by myself, and I'm female, if that makes any difference. The directions were easy to follow, and everything was easy, except drilling screws into metal.

Good composter - sturdy and looks good

We have purchased others before. This one so far is the best.

Great composting tumbler

I have never used a compost tumbler prior to buying this one but have several friends that highly recommended I try one and I'm glad I listened. This has made flipping the compost so much easier than using a shovel or pitchfork and straining my back. It spins easily and keeps the compost in. The doors slide over so initially I had reservations on if that would be an issue but it has not been a problem at all. The doors stay in place as the tumbler spins. I like that it has two separate areas so they can keep working even once one is filled. I have my compost piles outside far away from the house so having this tumbler set up I'm able to keep working the compost closer to the house and not have the strain on my back from the heavy flipping. Overall I love this duel chamber compost bin. The ease of use, the convenience , the actual system itself seems to be reducing my overall composting time quite a bit. I will update in a few months to say by exactly how much but so far the breakdown seems to be going very well. My only complaint about this is that I had to put it together myself but it was fairly easy. The tricky part was figuring out how to set the pieces of the chamber to put the clip on to join them together by myself. I recruited a family member to hold it in place as I clipped it and it was smooth sailing after that so I recommend having someone assist by holding the piece while clipping them together. It is bigger than I thought it would be so that also makes this much better than I expected it to be.

Composting is the Best!!

I have been looking to do Composting for years now. We started off with a small Tote but we needed to go better. We use to much dirt for our green house. I didn't really like the tote idea because it was heavy but you use what you have at the item. I got online and a friend recommend this. I received it days later and its great. I love that it has wheels you can easily turn the chambers and one can be for one kind of compost and another in the other chamber. Best part is that its not on the ground. Like the Tote we left it on the ground and everytime we needed dirt we had to pick it off the ground and get some. It was a pain. If you are looking to start composting this I recommend this.

Reliable, easy to install, easy to operate

I have no complains about the use of these, except for not having figured out how to get the composting process working as desired. These were easy to put together in less than an hour. Then moving them out was not hard at all. Filling them with the kitchen waste was a bit difficult due to size of the opening, but with the right container that problem has been solved. No solution yet to how to get the composting working correctly with minimal smell.

Garden Time!

I haven't ever bought, or even used a composter before, but after moving out to the country where we don't have trash pickup, I decided it's time to make use of what I can. The instructions were fairly straightforward. It took me about 15 minutes by myself to put it together, and I am not the most skilled assembler. Setup was simple and the concept is very easy to understand. I now have it set up and outside and it is wonderful! I thought for sure it would smell in no time, but I'm not having any issues with smells yet. It seals well and even my 5 year old is able to take out scraps and put it in. I am looking forward to starting a fall garden and it's going to be some or the best growing I believe! The price is great and makes it much more affordable than buying tons of fertilizer. And being able to reuse what would have gone to a landfill anyway is such a huge environmental plus. I have had no issues and am very happy with my purchase so far. I will update on my garden once I get things growing thanks to my new composter!
