I don't ever have to worry about my Ring doorbell going dead anymore! I love it! I live in a house that was built in 1908 and built out of rock. So there's no doorbell wiring and there's no chance of me drilling through the wall to install some. I was having to charge my doorbell every month or 2 before. I bought this plug and even added 6ft of cord to the end of it... so I could run the wiring under my front porch and hide them. Then reinstalled my doorbell with 8% battery left. I had to turn the live view off and turn down the motion sensitivity. It was draining the battery too much at first. It took a week or 2, to completely charge the battery. Once the battery hit 100%... I turned all the features back on and it hasn't dropped below 100% since. I've been running it for 6 months now and haven't had any problems with it. One less thing to to ever worry about.

I used this power adaptor for my DING WiFi Video Doorbell & 6-Month Cloud Storage - Smart Home Hub and WiFi Extender and 2 Pack Door/Window Sensors - All Inclusive Bundle. It is similar to the RING. I am happy with the dapter. No issues. The design seems sturdy. The wire from the adapter to the doorbell is quite long which really helps when the entrance is not close a power source. I recommend the product.

If there's something that's annoying with a Ring doorbell, it is having to charge the thing. For me, that was every month. Nothing more annoying that trying to live view the doorbell and it's dead. Not anymore! The cord is long enough to pull through the wall and get the adapter to an electrical socket on the other side of my doorbell. My doorbell has the white ring lit on it now making it easier for my guests to find the doorbell at night. Make sure your doorbell is fully charged when you install this. It's a trickle charge that keeps your doorbell charged, not really designed to charge your doorbell when it's dead.

I have a first generation Ring Video Doorbell installed to the front of my garage, operating on rechargeable battery. Once or twice a week for the past 2 years, I would remove the Ring Video Doorbell and take it inside the house to charge, and then reset it back into the bracket. I was intending to install a doorbell transformer to take advantage of the Ring's Live View which is not available on battery power, but am glad I didn't bother with that, and instead purchased this adapter. The adapter plugs into a nearby outlet in my garage and the two wires are then connected to the screws on the mounting bracket. I installed the adapter a week ago, and its working perfectly and the Ring is at 100% charge. UPDATE 2/21/18: the adapter still works well, but the Ring ceases to work when the temperature drops. This is a recent phenomenon, which I didnt experience the past several years while running on battery, but Ring speaks to this isuse on the support page on their website, and suggests bringing the Ring inside to warm it up. According to Ring, this typically only happens to older versions of Ring.

This one I knew would either be a 1 star review or 5 star review as there are very few things in the middle that can affect it otherwise. I think the only other variable I can think of that would affect this review is the length of the cable, but this cable is about 10ft long so it was more than enough to run the line through the wall to an electrical outlet in the house. Therefore, this power adapter gets the 5 star rating. Once hooked up to my Ring Doorbell 2, you can see the ring around the doorbell button illuminate white which signifies that the adapter is providing power to the doorbell. Also, you can use the app on your phone that shows you that is hardwired and not running off battery power. Keep in mind that this power adapter is not meant to charge your battery in the Ring Doorbell (at least not a fast charge), but it does slowly charge the battery. At the time of installation, I still had 92% charge in my battery and it is now at 100% (of course, I checked it more than 24 hours later). Because this adapter is newly purchased, I can't comment on the longevity of it, but we'll see. One other note when installing this to your Ring Doorbell, the wires can be hooked up to either terminal on the Ring Doorbell...there is no polarity to make installation easy.

I purchased this originally with some skepticism. I have had a Ring Doorbell Pro sitting in its box for two years as my doorbell system had a 8 volt transformer and the new Ring Doorbell Pro required 16-24volt. I couldn’t find my installed transformer and neither could a contractor or builder. So I waited for a solution. Then I came across this unit and thought I’d giv3 it a try. I needed to bypass my current system and bell but I tried it. This unit runs my Ring Doorbell Pro perfectly and using the Ring Chime, everything I was hoping for has been achieved. The length of the power cord is only 180 inches but can be spliced to additional wire if necessary. Very satisfied!

This adapter just worked well with my Pro, long cable enable me to set it any where I want and no missing pictures! I'm so so so excited. Oh before this I also bought a doorbell angle mount from this store. It can also be worked with the adapter. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074DTSRR9. Hope my review can help you!

This product is a power adapter that trickle charges the battery in the ring.com doorbell. I am using the original ring doorbell (two of them) in a bed and breakfast inn which means a very high rate of usage. Both doorbells would only last three weeks between charges. Got tired of this charging and did not have an existing doorbell to wire to so gave this product a try. Just wired the two wire to the ring doorbell and plugged the power transformer into the nearest outlet. After a small delay, the round ring on the doorbell lite to indicate the power was connected. After about five minutes the app on my iPhone indicated a hardwire connection for power. The battery started at a 90% and proceeded to charge at a 3% per day rate. Got to 100% on day 3. I think this slow charge rate is by design and the battery is only for back up in case of power lost. Transformer is 18 volts at 500 ma. Suppose to work with all the ring doorbells. My second doorbell is now slowly working it’s way to 100% from 70%.

When I first bought my Ring doorbell the battery would last 4 month. Now I’m lucky to go two months. The Ring website said I needed to add a resistor if I hardwired to the Ring doorbell to the old doorbell transformer. With no place to mount the resistor I searched online for other options and found this power supply adapter with a 10 foot cord. I drilled a hole through the wall and feed the wire inside the wall from the Ring doorbell on the outside to an outlet inside my house. Took about a hour. Now the Ring doorbell always has power and the battery for backup. No resistor required.

We’ve had this for close to 2 months (to use with the Ring Doorbell 2) and have had zero issues with it. It did take some creative finagling to hide the cord (we have a rock front on our porch) but we managed. My husband ‘built’ a small ledge for the Ring Doorbell to sit on so that we wouldn’t have to drill into the rock. So far, it’s all working just fine. I’m glad to have found another alternative to hardwiring the doorbell, or relying on a battery that has to constantly be recharged.
