Timesaver making prescription dog food - Love this little scale!

My 13 year old dog was recently diagnosed as having early kidney disease. The commercially made prescription dog foods that were recommended by my vet all have either corn, corn meal gluten or corn meal in the first few ingredients. My other alternative was to make my own food and add a vitamin powder supplement (BalanceIT Canine K.) Although the BalanceIT website gives ingredient equivalents in cups it was difficult to be really accurate. Some of those measurements were even in tablespoons or teaspoons! I decided to look for a scale that would measure in grams as well as ounces since most of the measurements in the recipes are given in grams. I was so pleased to find this scale at a very affordable price. It doesn't take up alot of room on my counter and the red color is nice. Now I can just put a plastic bowl on the scale, tare the weight and weigh out each ingredient until I get the correct amount. If I'm making enough food for multiple days I can weigh out each bowl to make sure I've portioned the food accurately. Having the scale really cuts down the time needed to make sure the ingredients are the right proportions.

Perfect for everything I needed

I purchased this product as a cheap solution to guessing how many ounces of things I was putting in my meals. I started tracking my calories and the guess work was just too annoying. This makes tracking calories SO MUCH easier and it's an easy scale to use too!

Great value, works well

Just out of the box, so may update the review later. I like this scale, works as advertised, you can change units of measurement as, etc.. Easy to use. The red color is consistent with the pic, light weight. Nice platform size and easy to clean, no odd shapes to make cleaning difficult, though I’m not sure i totally agree with the finger print resistance on the stainless steel platform; it cleans easy though and fingerprints come off easily. I have used it mostly for weighing items for the post office mail. Seems accurate, weighed a couple of food items of known weight, though didn’t do a large range of weights. Great value for price. Overall pleased, no real flaws.

love it

This is very light weight and easy to use. It has a bunch of different types of measurements depending on if you're doing solids or fluids. I've been using it since my bariatric surgery in December and I haven't had any problems with it so far. It's small too so it is easy to store and doesn't take up a lot of space on the counter.

Wonderfully simple!

I purchased this scale because I needed one for my new meal plan and it was red. I used it for the first time today and it worked great! I love that there are simple settings and only two buttons. It makes for very easy meal prep.

Includes 3V CR2032 battery. AUTO OFF is 3 minutes, not 1.

Pros: LCD display bumps out away from scale surface, making it easier to read when bowls/plates are on scale. Stainless surface easy to clean. TARE function: place container on scale (scale shows weight of container), press TARE button (scale resets to 0), put food in container (scale shows weight of food). UNIT button can be pressed at any time to change unit of measure. Scale includes MILK LIQUID and WATER LIQUID units of measure included. Most scales only have WATER LIQUID (which is less dense than milk. Cons: The CR2032 button battery allows the scale to be thin. Some might prefer scales with AAA batteries. This FoodScale is Accurate / Lightweight / Easy to Use / Good Style

I'm dieting and wanted an inexpensive food scale to monitor portion sizes. This scale is very easy to use and has a great design. Best feature was a total surprise! If you set the bowl or plate on the scale BEFORE turning it on, it automatically zeros out the weight...so you don't have to worry about calculating or subtracting the tare! It uses what looks like a 3V watch battery which was included.

I love this scale!

I love this scale! I had bought a cheap plastic scale that you set items in a small cup ... it was difficult to weigh cuts of meat and such. But this NUTRI FIT scale is amazing! I can place large chicken breasts and steaks and fish on it, as well as food in bowls and containers.

Nice, compact and perfect for multiple uses

Purchased this to be used by a pet shelter to monitor the weight of rescue kittens. I know this is not the classic use for the scale, but that is what we use it for. I get great reveiws from the shelter. And they believe that it has helped them greatly while nursing the little kittens to good health. I recommended it to a friend (for classic purposes of kitchen use) and she loves the one she purchased.
