I hate camera straps, they are always in the way unless you are actually walking with your camera slung over your shoulder. So, when I came across the Peak Design Slide strap I was pretty excited to give it a try. It is just what I've been looking for, because one of my worries about a strap that will unhook from your camera is that the clips that allow it to separate from the camera are also the weak link in the system. But Peak Design's system is the best I've ever seen, they also tell you the rated weight that the attachment "buttons" will withstand, which is usually impossible to discover on other straps (thanks for that info). So, after a couple of short hikes and some studio work, I am very pleased with this sling strap, both attached and unattached from the camera.

Although this is a little more expensive than other straps, it is a well thought out design and well worth it in my opinion. The connection to the camera is great, and it is easily removed or attached, which is really nice when you have had to deal with a strap that loops through buckles for years. Most of those are so time-consuming to remove that you just don't bother. With this one, it's easy to remove the strap to put the camera on a tripod for example. The strap is made from exceptionally strong material, but I have to say I've never had a lesser strap break on me either. One nice touch is that the made one side of the strap smooth, and one side has a clear rubber non-slip raised areas. Sometimes you want the strap to slide as you raise the camera, and sometimes you'd rather not have it do that. With this strap you just flip it over (no disconnect necessary) and you can have it either way. I would definitely buy this again. I bought the hand strap for my son, and he loves it as well.

This is what I have needed for a long time and did not realize it until getting one. I use it with a Panasonic Lumix GX8. The usual camera straps are hard on the neck and only work hanging from your neck and straight down in front. The Slide Lite from Peak Design hangs from the neck but across the body to whatever hight you want, I have it waist high, and can be quickly grabbed and pulled up to to the eye and is very easy on the neck. I have carried my camera with this strap for hours with no neck issues.

Functions as described. Pros: - Easy to adjust size - Feels strong despite the size of clips. - Clips are most secure than expected, but easy to remove strap - Came with additional clips as well, and options to secure camera with a d ring style attachment. I'm not sure on the terminology here, but I like the option. Cons: - Haven't used it very long, but i feel like my strap was getting longer as I wore it. I put my camera on the shelf and noticed the straps were max length. Could be from weight of camera though, was using this with a Nikon D7200 and 70-200mm lens

This is a really great strap. I use it for a Sony a6000 so I went with the Lite strap for the thinner straps. It’s really easy to attach to the camera and I rarely take it off but when I have it didn’t bother me to have the little clasps still hanging on the camera. The best parts of this strap are that it feels really secure so I don’t worry about anything coming loose. And the ability to adjust the length of the strap to go from taking pictures (where I shorten it) and then back to walking for a while (where I lengthen it and slide it around to my back) is so easy and quick just using the slider on the front of the strap and then locking it back in place. This makes it the best strap I’ve seen for me. The only negatives are that they don’t use an arca compatible plate to attach to the bottom as an anchor point anymore. They use a smaller anchor which works great and is sturdy but it’s not compatible with any tripods or stands. I ended up buying the arca plate they sell separately(which should come with the strap) and swapped them and now it works great and I can throw the camera on a tripod really quick without taking the strap off. The strap does tend to sometimes spin on the anchors a little so when you put it on the straps are uneven but easily fixed by flipping one over. I miss having that feeling of tossing it over my shoulder and it just fitting there but once I have it on right the feel and functionality is perfect.

I really wanted to see this strap in person before purchasing, but I took the leap and am glad I did. I purchased this strap to replace the OEM strap that came with our Nikon D5100. That strap was fine, I just found myself wanting something a little longer so I could take photos without having to change the position of the strap around my neck or arm. The slide lite strap works great for me. Plenty long, and the option to attach to the left side and bottom make it great for wearing the camera in sling mode. I like this mode as it really allows for taking pictures without removing the camera from my neck. I haven't had any issues with the strap sliding/extending on it's own due to weight. The most it carries is a Nikon D5100 with an 18-200 mm zoom lens. The thickness of the strap is perfect, no complaints of being too narrow and digging in. You can flip over the apex of the strap on your shoulder to engage the traction bumps to help secure the strap a little more. My only complaint is how the anchors can get twisted up, but that's probably just a personal preference. You just have to be a mindful of the metal clasp portion, and try to keep it away from your camera when you put it all in a bag. The strap does come off very easily, and you can wrap it up and put it in a pocket when traveling with the camera in a bag. After a ton of research, I was very glad I found this strap, and very happy that I purchased it.

Lovely design! I bought it originally as a camera strap for my small mirrorless (Sony a6500) but almost returned it because it was too chunky - the PD "Leash" strap was much better suited for my camera, and the elegant metal buckles on the Slide Light worried me - they might scratch my camera in the bag. Then I figured out that the Slide Lite was ideal for carrying my big lenses, like the Sony 100-400mmGM, and 300mmG, hanging (with my little camera) off my shoulder from the lens' Arca-Swiss type plates. Really nice solution! And everything uses the same PD Anchor Clips. One small pit of paranoia I need to get over though: even though they're rated at 200lb. each, I worry a bit about dangling $4000 worth of camera and lens from the Anchors, and always keep a hand on my equipment....

Extremely practical. Super easy to adjust the length and fit of the strap. Camera feels very sturdy when attached. The locking mechanism works perfectly. Keeps camera securely fastened to the strap, but makes it easy to remove the strap completely and reattach in seconds. Bought this strap for the ease of use and convenience, but I have to say it's also the best looking strap I've owned. The materials feel sturdy and high quality. The strap is comfortable, but also has a grippy texture on part of it to prevent slipping. The design and attention to detail is exceptional. Ordered the matching wrist strap to go with it, can't wait to able to switch between neck strap and wrist strap so quickly and easily.

I balked at 50 bucks for a camera strap at first but so happy I took the leap. This strap slides super smooth and the weight and feel is 100% awesome. I shoot very amateur 35mm on a Canon A-1 and Yashica Electro 35. The extra set of anchor links made this a perfect fit for my use case. I just wish they included two sets of metal ring hooks to match the links. Overall I find this simple strap really impressive and the build quality is superb. I’m glad I ordered the slide lite. The standard Slide would have been too wide and the Leash, too thin. This really dresses my gear up too.

I can't add much to the other reviews that I've seen for this Peak Design Slide Lite camera strap - it's high quality and the quick release tabs are a key feature and selling point. The two adjustment points are easy to use and stable - the strap doesn't unintentionally change length. I really like the two different sides of the strap, one smooth for easy sliding on your shoulder to get into shooting position and the other with built-in grippers to stop that sliding when you don't want it. I use his strap with a Sony a6500 and it's just the right width and weight to accommodate the camera while making it comfortable to carry and providing quick shooting access. The physically largest lens I use it with is a Sigma 16mm f1.4 and that rig hangs just right by my hip with the lens pointing downward (I use one of the camera's strap attachment points and the tripod-mount adapter that comes with the strap) so my hand naturally goes for the camera grip. Bottom line: IMO, this is the perfect mirrorless camera strap. If you have a larger DSLR, you may want to consider the wider, padded version, but for my equipment, this is "just right." Peak Designs makes some good stuff!
