This jewelers tool is made very solid. As soon as you take it out of the box you can tell it was built to last. The tool works better than I thought it would. The LED lights are very bright so it makes it easy to see what you are looking at, and there is also a Blue UV light which allows you to look at your object in a totally different way. This is a good product and the shipping was handled very quickly.

Thank you so much! I am amending my review. Wesley read my review and immediately sent a replacement magnifier with a new type belt attachable case and several straps and polishing clothes. This is awesome customer service!!! Thank you Wesley! My strap broke because the metal loop is sharp inside. One of the light bulbs bent at an odd angle when I closed it. It sure bears wearing readers at the beach!

This is an excellent magnifier loupe. I love the large field of view. The bright LED and the UV lights are excellent. Amazing the contrast they add to the items in view. Again, this is an excellent all metal loupe. The added carry case will further insure my loupe will be kept safe and secure when not in use. I highly recommend it. I use my loupe for coin collecting and examining new and old paper currency.

I was initially skeptical that this would work but it did. A couple things: 1) initially, when I turned on the led it blinked like there was a short circuit. It turned out the battery cover was a little loose. I tightened it and it works perfectly. 2) don't be afraid to get your eye right on the loope. This will increase your field of view and make it easy to see what you're looking at. I use it to see trichomes and while I can't see every one of them like a microscope, I don't need to. I could see clearly enough to know when to harvest.

Got this for my birdwatcher and naturalist husband for the holidays so he can closely examine plants, bugs, and other various and sundry creations on his nature hikes. He loves it. Comes with a nice case and clip to dangle from his nerdy vest.

I use this loupe to examine the edges on my straight razors while honing. I have no intention of purchasing a USB microscope, but find it important to be able to "see" the edge and the progress during the honing process. The naked eye simply has no chance. Especially mine, ;-) There are 2 light switches on this loupe, bright white and a blue (which I never use). The loupe comes with a case and a minuscule tool to change the battery, but from what everything I have read, it is cheaper to replace the entire loupe, rather than the battery. We'll see. This item works well and performs as expected. You can spend more, a lot more, but for my purposes, this product fits the bill. Recommended.

This has a carting case with a clasp you can hook inside your purse, backpacks or belt loop. Swings open. X40 magnification. Has LED and UV lights you adjust w the tiny on/off switch. Batteries included, lens cloth included, thorough instructions

I'm happy with this magnifier. The all metal and glass construction gives it a hefty, solid feel. The LEDs are very bright and well positioned. The entire field of view is evenly and brightly lit. The large (1 inch diameter) lens gives a nice wide field of view. There is some noticeable color fringing and distortion around the edge of the field, but to me it's not excessive or intrusive (or surprising, at this price point). The central field is clear, bright and detailed. No doubt there are better quality magnifiers out there, but it's hard to see how you can do better than this for <$14.

The first time I used it, the light came on, then went off and I could not get it to come back on. I returned it, and within a few days Wesley's emailed me apologizing for the faulty lights and offered to send me another glass. The customer service is excellent and they stand behind their product. One reason I purchased this particular glass was because of good reviews. I probably just received one that got by the testers or was messed up in shipping. I received the new light and it works perfectly. I'm very happy with it.

This metal jeweler's loupe is substantially-constructed, enclosed in a nice carrying case, with an optional neck cord, legible instructions, and a lens cleaning cloth. I especially like the bright, white LED's, which I will use for examining the cutting edges of tools I am honing. The magnified image is quite clear, and suitable for my purposes. I cannot determine the composition of the lens material. A 40X magnifier has a narrow field of view and a shallow focus, and the LED lights are properly angled to illuminate dead center in the magnified image. There is also a UV LED for gem and currency inspection, but I am unfamiliar with the detailed capabilities required for such purposes. The sliding switch is nicely "snappy." The "off" setting is in the center position, making it difficult to confuse the choice between white and UV, as well as difficult to turn on the lights inadvertently. I have no idea how long the batteries will last, so I will obtain extras. As best as I can tell so far (I've only had the device one day), this loupe is an excellent value for $15.00.
