I LOVE LOVE this clock radio. I use it as my alarm clock, it does not have annoyingly large red numbers glaring at you throughout the night. The display is a soft orange and you can turn it off by pushing any button; you can turn off the alarm using any button; and the alarm is a radio station of your choice! (the classical station, yes!) I consider myself one who appreciates simplicity and more 'old fashioned' methods of getting things done, and this little radio/clock fits the bill. It is very intuitive as to how it works, and the radio reception is amazing considering its size. Plus, battery operation is great when the power goes out! Everything about it is perfect. Love this radio.

The sound is loud from the external speaker when turned up. The digital tuner works better for me than analog tuners as there are many concrete buildings in the area I use it. It has a handy stand that flips out on the back. 2 AA batteries were included. The hand strap easily fit my large hands. The clock is handy as well as the sleep timer and lock button. The lock button lets you carry the radio in a pocket and keeps button presses from changing the station. The orange back-light is easy to see in daylight and auto-shuts off in a few seconds. Since I just got it I haven't used the alarm yet.

This radio reminds me of my first transistor radio...the one I kept under my pillow to listen to The Beatles as I fell asleep. I can’t say much about battery life or durability because I have only had it about a week, but I can tell you it receives radio signals just fine. As with many things, the sound quality suffers if you turn it up too its limits, but at a reasonable audio level, it sounds great. Now I can listen to my Astros when we are not at home!

Nice, simple to operate radio. Both AM and FM come in loud and clear.

Well this morning the original batteries died out after 2 1/2 months. Put new batteries in and smelled a burning smell. This little radio was great. Very disappointed that it fried like this. Hey Dream Sky, think you could send me another? 10/2/18 Update. I contacted DreamSky and they replaced the radio in record time, very impressed. I updated my rating and have to repeat how much I love this little radio. Thanks DreamSky.

I'm really enjoying this radio. It's very compact, and is very easy to set up and operate. I especially like the lock button; this can be engaged to prevent the radio from accidentally turning on while it's stowed away in a travel bag. Reception is good on all my local stations. In the city, with powerful FM stations present, I keep the antenna short in order to reduce overload and receive the weaker stations. On AM it would be nice if this radio had better sensitivity, to improve reception of distant stations, however even as it is I am able to pull in the stronger distant stations. So while the DreamSky DS-209 is not an all-out AM DX machine, it is enjoyable for local listening and for the major out-of-town stations at night. This morning I tested the alarm function and it worked perfectly. The alarm wakes you to your last-tuned radio station. You'll want to adjust the volume you want to wake up to. I have not yet tested battery life. I'll post an update once I've done so. All in all I'm very glad I purchased this radio! Oh - forgot to mention - I love the flip-out stand on back - a very nice touch!

This is an inexpensive radio. It works precisely like you'd expect an inexpensive radio to work, which is a good thing. It is not a cheap radio, which is also a good thing. I use it almost exclusive for AM and on my sailboat. Reception is just fine inside the cabin entryway. My only nit to pick is I wish it had a slide switch for on/off instead of a pushbutton. Where I stow it, the unit has come on unexpectedly by being pressed against other gear. That said, at least I know the battery life is good! (Pro Tip: If you are likely to stow it where the same thing could happen, turn the volume down before turning it off. Your slip neighbors will thank you!)

What's not to like. Great radio. Positive push buttons, intuitive design, good sound from speaker. Sounds as good as a $100.00 radio I have which is wx, sw, air sw, an,fm. Great looks. Professional. Clean. Dark plastic looks great. Love orange backlight...aircraft design. Telescope attends great. One thing folks. The only alarm on this radio is "wake by radio". Meaning no traditional buzzer or beeper. This actually I LIKE. I wanted to wake and go to sleep by talk radio or music. No snooze. Don't need that. Also can go to sleep with radio on, you pick how long till radio shuts down. Longest choice is 90 minutes. Great function. Backlight is 6 seconds . Also, I dig it runs on batteries. So much easier than plugging into computer to charge usb. Also, I was surprised that this radio pulls in AM stations better than my $120.00 and $75.00 emergency radios. Don't know why, but it does. Thank you DREAM SKY for a great engineered product.

Had a bit of trouble figuring out how to set it up and time but re-reading instructions several times I got it hoing and also time set. My hubby wanted it to basically catch baseball games that are blocked on cable. He is very happy w/it. This one is very simple w/o all the other technical gadgets which frustrate him. Thank u for this little baby!

The DreamSky alarm clock AM/FM radio is small - only 3 x 5" - yet it is clear and loud enough with good FM reception. The push button on/off was a big plus for me. There are no presets or stored stations. However, the AM/FM toggle remembers the last stations selected so you can toggle between the selected AM and FM stations. The manual does not adequately describe the Lock/Sleep button. If you quickly press the Lock/Sleep and let go, it starts the COUNTDOWN timers. Keep pressing quickly to change the countdown times. If, on the other hand, you press and HOLD DOWN the Lock/Sleep button, it goes into the LOCK mode that disables the other buttons. To UNLOCK it, just press and hold down the Lock/Sleep button until the lock icon goes away.
