Great little pencil sharpener.

After going through a series of electric pencil sharpeners that started out ok but after a while started grinding and skipping, I bought this sharpener based on reviews by people that had the same experiences as I have had. I have not been disappointed. This sharpener results in perfect points every time, even with those pencils that have wood overlapping the lead on one side. I used to peel the wood back and try to get the sharpener to even it out, but results were uneven at best. With the Jarlink I simply insert the pencil and the sharpener stops when the point is perfect. Also, it takes up less room on my desk than the other ones I have owned. Since I haven't had it very long I can't attest to its durability, but I did sharpen about 100 colored pencils with no problem. Also, I have not put batteries in, so I don't know if performance is the same when battery powered. I power it by USB cord attached to my computer.

It has far exceeded my expectation. . . Sound corny? I purchased it for my workshop to make precision marks on material I'm cutting. One box of #2 pencils later, I'm ready to purchase a couple of more. It consistently provides me with a point that is not too sharp and fragile, but perfect for a clean precision line to follow when cutting a verity of material. Other sharpeners I have purchased, all costing much more, have literally eaten up pencils in an attempt to get a usable tip. Either the tip is to sharp and fragile, or it dose not efficiently remove material from around the tip. Both resulting in wasting time and pencils. Another feature I like is it's adaptable power source. Thus far I've used it only with batteries, but in other scenarios I might chose to use the AC features. in any event I like having choices that meet my needs. This product is worthy of your serious consideration. Better yet, just get one. . .

Wouldn't quite call it heavy duty but it does the trick for single user who occasionally sharpens pencils throughout the day. Not too big, (I have it nicely tucked away behind my phone) not a bulky piece taking up desk space.

Flexible Power

I like the flexibility of three different types of power. At this time I have used only 120 AC but plan to supply it with batteries as soon as I purchase them. I have had a similar pencil sharpener on my desk for more than 20 years and replaced it only because I didn't replace the batteries soon enough. It works well

Elementary classrooms are where pencil sharpeners go to die, but not this one! We are two and a half months in and it is still sharpening like the day I took it out of the box! I sharpen about 25 pencils a day and have had zero problems. It doesn’t chew through them leaving me with a bunch of short pencils and has held up well to colored pencils and those with the plastic wrap. Even the cheapest pencils come to an even and sharp point. I tell all my colleagues that this will end their pencil sharpening woes! UPDATE: it is now February and still going strong! A student brought me a pencil they had sharpened in another classroom but couldn’t use because one side was still covered with wood. This sharpener evened it out immediately!

Updated review: Returned item, stopped working 2 days after I received it. Update: The company kindly reached out to me and sent a new sharpener free of charge. We've now had it for a few days and has been working. The sharpener leaves a nice, even point on all sides of the pencil.

Auto version of the old one you had in back in school

It's perfectly fine for #2 HB pencils - I've not tried had the chance to try anything softer or color pencils. After wasting money on some Amazon Basics manual sharpeners ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D5B7JRM/ ) which kept leaving one side of the lead covered and / or breaking it altogether, I gave up and got this thing. My only "complaint" after a week is that the reservoir doesn't hold as much as I imagined it would by looking at the picture. The shavings are find and super curly, so it was about half full after sharpening just 4 brand new pencils. As far as improvements - Other than increasing the size of the reservoir, adding something to hold 2 or 3 pencils would be nice.I'm probably the only person who wants this, so I'm not holding my breath.

This HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER LOVES this sharpener!

Just started using this sharpener in my classroom and it's FABULOUS! No more guessing as to if the pencil is sharp. It ends the constant "grind, look, repeat" process we teachers endure. It stops when the pencil is sharp, and boy do I mean SHARP! I have heard quieter sharpeners, but this one is not any louder than the others I've heard. I've been extremely pleased with this purchase. EXPLANATION OF ATTACHED PHOTO: A customer just asked a question about purchasing an adapter replacement for one that was accidentally destroyed. I thought a photo of the adapter's information might be helpful.

Works great at home or on the go !

32 years old and I'm back in collage. I use this sharpner Daily ! It does great every time.... It mainly stays plugged into the wall by much laptop. However on large assignments I take it right along with me. The battery use is awesome.... But the USB plug is to perfect for sharpening on the go lol Highly recommend
