It's a bit early to report on this device. Certainly take that into account when looking at my stars for battery life and durability. That said, the device seems to work well so far... the extra length of the probe keeps the grip (and the hand holding the grip) away from the heat. It seems to be accurate, when measuring room temperature, and it feels accurate when measuring meat temperature. And it responds quite quickly. But I'm writing because of their great follow-up. Videos, toll-free helpline AND the offer of a 3 year warranty if you register the device online (1 year otherwise.) Having had a number of meat thermometers that didn't even last a season, I'm impressed. And this one cost less than half of the others. Time will tell about durability etc. But I've always got the warranty if anything goes wrong. (I hardly ever write reviews, but was so impressed with their customer support, that I did.)

This thing is pretty accurate, even at the low temperature end. When i dipped it in ice water, it read 0.5 degree Celsius, which is pretty close to the theoretical 0.0 degree value. I mainly use it to get a quick reading of my pool temperature, which only takes 3 seconds to get a stable, accurate reading.

The unit is easy to use and the response time is amazingly fast. I checked the calibration against ice water / boiling water and it was within specs. I used the unit to check the performance of my home A/C system by measuring the temperature before and after the coil. It was OK. Based on my calibration and assuming linearity, Actual temp = 1.013 x reading - 1.3 degree F.

I bought this to replace my previous digital thermometer which had given up. First thing I did was immerse it into a cup of crushed ice. It read and held at 32 Degrees Fahrenheit. I then took it out of the ice, cleaned it up and then immersed the tip in boiling water. At 48 feet above sea level where I live, water boils at 212 Degrees Fahrenheit. After 5 seconds it stopped at exactly 212 Degrees. So it is accurate. I dropped it once, no problem. It has been used several times since I got it and accurately reads meat temps. Price is much better then in a big box store. Thanks!

The attached pictures are prime cut beef ribs I smoked on 275°F for 6 hours, and choice cut pork ribs I smoked for 4 hours on 275°F - they both came out amazing! I've also reverse-seer prime NY Strip steaks, by cooking on 225°F for 45 minutes, then cranking up to high (nearly 500°F) and seering for 90 seconds on each side for a PERFECT medium-rare steak. I've cooked beef and pork ribs many, many times and I've reverse seered NY Strips countless times, and the best I've ever cooked them all was with this thermometer, NO JOKE! My new pellet grill and this thermometer truly makes grilling and smoking idiot proof, you can never mess up! The perfect mix pellets also give a great flavor that isn't too overpowering like a 100% hickory or mesquite. $349.00 Z GRILLS ZPG-550B 2019 Wood Pellet Grill & Smoker - https://amzn.to/2ZfVm4O $37.00 40lb bag of Perfect Mix Pellets - https://amzn.to/2XdLcjg $13.99 Grill Cover works great - https://amzn.to/2IrDS02 I also tested the accuracy of this thermometer with my more expensive kitchen one, and the temps seem to be spot on.

I have purchased two iTronic products – the ThermoPro TP01A Instant Read and the TP20 wireless remote. The TP20 was purchased almost two years ago and Amazon won’t let me leave a review on it for some reason. I just purchased the TP01A and haven’t put it through its paces yet. BUT…..what I do want to do is recommend ThermoPro’s amazing customer service. Just a week after buying the TP20 a couple of years ago, I was first surprised to get an email from iTronics offering a spare set of probes for free. Just….because. So that left me with two full sets of new probes right off the bat. Awesome! The TP20 works great for me, although I don’t have a frame of reference to compare it to other units. Haven’t measured the range but it does everything I need and has brought a world of consistency to my cooks. There are a couple of improvements I would choose to make to make it more user friendly to set up and may contact the manufacturer to recommend it. Simple things like being able to change temps by holding the button down instead of having to press it for each degree change (with the annoying beep that comes with every push of the button – can’t we make that go away?). Some time back, though, I went to use it and found the transmitter wouldn’t communicate with the receiver anymore. I replaced both sets of batteries and rebooted both pieces to no avail. I contacted iTronics, who walked me through a reset process, but it still didn’t work. They confirmed my shipping address and said they’d make it right. When the package arrived, I was a bit surprised to see a whole new boxed unit! New matched transmitter and receiver, two more probes and a clip. So now I still have the old transmitter (which still works, I just can’t use it remotely) that stays in the kitchen for oven duty and a new remote unit, as well as six probes. Customer service was great to work with and was the reason I purchased the TP01A on sale as a backup to my other instant read. Once I get time to put it through its paces, time will tell if it becomes my backup or primary instant read. Regardless, I HIGHLY recommend this company just for the customer service.

I purchased this for my daughter along with other things for her bridal shower, she happened to get a few different thermometers so I kept it instead of returning it, as my other one was very old! I used it last night and it’s amazing! Easy to use and my meat was perfect and tasty! I love this and highly recommend it.

I don't like reviewing items before I've had time to use them so it may take a while for me to review them. I had such a chance this weekend while cooking a pork roast and was quite pleased ! The fact that it is instant read is quite useful. I got the internal temperature within 1 or 2 seconds, as opposed to my prior one which would slowly change for up to 3 minutes before it settled. Totally useless! This new one settled almost instantly. I love this ! It also has a rather long probe, is very easy to read, allows me to grab a hold temp as well as switched between °C and °F so I didn't have to do the math 👍🏽.

Pro: I'm an engineer who likes to cook, I bought the ThermoPro to use when making candy and jelly in addition to the normal smoke and BBQ. The key to choosing ThermoPro was the measuring tip is very sharp and has a very low mass, this related directly to the speed of measurement. There is no large probe to heat up and stabilize, therefore this fine tip gives an accurate reading in about 3 seconds. It is easy to handle, I can hold the grill lid with one hand and use the probe with lighted display with the other. I would recommend this to my foodie friends. Con: This probe is not designed to hang on the side of the pot while making candy, however the probe is long enough and the fast response makes momentary use acceptable.

This is an inexpensive thermometer that does the job. Have had it for more than six months and it's still working like a champ. Accurate readings (compared to another thermometer) and the blue background helps when reading temps. You have to give it some time for an accurate read (20-30 seconds or so) but that's not unusual for an inexpensive thermometer.
