My kids dove right into this puzzle when it arrived. The 4 and 5 year olds thought it was too easy (hey, it''s only 24 pieces), but the 2 year old didn't mind getting a little help with it. All of them, though, seemed to appreciate the size. Big puzzles are more fun, I guess. Anyway, the colors are nice and bright, the pieces fit together tightly (without being too tight) and the box is big enough to easily hold all the pieces without having to fuss much with it. Now, with 3 little kids playing with it, let's see how much abuse it can handle...

This is a great puzzle - my 4 year old put it together all on his own and it occupied him for a decent amount of time. I love the artwork from this brand and we have a few other puzzles by them and I'm finding that I actually prefer them to the Melissa & Doug puzzles we have several of because they require just a little bit less floor space and the artwork is more our style. There is beautiful shiny foiling on the artwork and the colors are bold and vibrant. I wish they would have labeled the planets and stars depicted (we have the Melissa & Doug outer space puzzle as well and that one is labeled) but other than that, this one is great. Nice carrying box for storage and the box is the same size as the other Petit Collage floor puzzle boxes which is great for storage purposes.

Outer space looks like a fun place in this colorful puzzle by Petit Collage. Two cheerful-looking astronauts wave from the surface of the moon, with the lunar lander behind them, as their rocket ship orbits overhead. It’s a detailed image that also depicts the sun, the eight planets in the solar system, an asteroid, a galaxy and the international space station all set within 24 pieces in a 1.5 x 2-foot frame. The puzzle has a child-friendly vibe of bold colors, charming illustrations and a tactile surface. The pieces are huge and sturdy, perfect for little hands that are still developing fine-motor skills. Most pieces feature parts of at least two images to visually guide assembly (this age isn’t going to look at fitting shapes as much as fitting color patterns.). The best parts of this puzzle, though, are the shiny, bas relief foil highlights throughout (the astronaut suits, rings on Saturn, stars and ships) – the shiny objects definitely kept our 2 and 5-year-old builders engaged. The 24 pieces add up to a large canvas that may almost be as big as your little puzzlers. That scale is another smart design of this puzzle. Kids in this age range love big projects. This space adventure also comes packed in a handy square box with a tabbed enclosure and a rope handle making it easy to store and transport. Your kids will love it. Also consider this puzzle – and others like it in the Petit line – as gifts for the young space invaders in your life.

The pieces in this puzzle make sense, fit together smoothly, and have enough fun detail to keep young puzzlers going. My two year old worked on it a long time, and my 5 year old swooped through it smoothly and enjoyed doing it numerous times. I like the silvery shine which makes the details really pop. Even with much mashing of pieces by young puzzlers, the pictorial parts did not peel up as they have on our Melissa and Doug ones after some time. Good quality and engaging design.

Our 3-yr-old grandson Liam has recently discovered the joy and wonder of puzzles, so I couldn't wait to let him try this one out. And oh my gosh, he absolutely LOVED it. The colors are big, bright, bold, and beautiful, plus they are distributed throughout the board in a way that makes it fairly easy for even little ones like Liam to find the "right" piece--i.e., "Liam, look for one that has both green and orange on it, or one that has blue stripes and solid white." He especially gets excited finding the pieces that make up the space satellite, the astronauts, and what he calls the "robot" in between the astronauts. And although it's a great puzzle for the floor, it works well on a table, too. Sometimes the ol' Noni (that's me) can't get down on the floor very well, so we have to play at a table where really huge floor puzzles just don't work. But this one worked great - and Liam and I broke it down and put it back together too many times to count. He just really loved this thing - and this is a boy who hardly loves ANYTHING that isn't a super-hero SOMETHING - ha. So enjoyed this time with him doing this puzzle again and again! In my opinion it's very well made; the pieces are fairly thick and sturdy and should, with a little care, last a good long time. It comes in a really nice sturdy box complete with a carrying handle - some designer somewhere was really thinking that one through. Liam loves toting this thing around deciding where he's going to "set up" for puzzle time. Too cute. At a size of 18x24 and 24 pieces total, it's the perfect size for that precious little 5 and under crowd. Plus it's got all the bright colors they love and it's just the right amount of challenging - meaning they need to think and use their little minds but they can DO it. And isn't that what they love most about puzzles in the first place? Putting them together and being able to say, Look what I did! This one is perfect for that and at a reasonable price as well. I've already got my eye on the Petit Collage "Our World" puzzle - I think Liam will love that one even more than this one because of all the animals on it. Can't wait to buy one for him and see what happens. Bottom line? Recommend wholeheartedly!

This floor puzzle is a neat idea! The 24 pieces form the picture of outer space in an 18" x 24" size. The appropriate ages are 3+. Younger ones can chew on the pieces and the pieces could be a choking hazard. My 3-year-old granddaughter needed my help the first time we assembled the puzzle, but then she had no problem assembling it herself. This puzzle will be a rainy day project for occasional play because after stomping on it a few times, she lost interest and went to play with something else. That's okay, adults don't continually put a puzzle together, but it's fun once in a while.

My two year old and I love doing this puzzle together!! The pieces are a good size for her age and the colors are very engaging! I recommend this puzzle!

We have a lot of puzzles in the 24-100 piece range, and this is one of the absolute best. The illustration is imaginative yet semi-realistic in terms of having real space objects. The cardboard is firm and well-cut. There's a silver-colored ink also, so the illustration is really snazzy. The astronauts are ambiguous genders (since you only see their hair), so your child can easily perceive them to be girl or boy astronauts, as they prefer. It's "big" but not "huge". This is one of those rare products that actually looks and plays a lot better in real life than the pics. (partially because of the silver ink which you can't tell in the pic).

The Petit Collage Outer Space Floor Puzzle is the perfect puzzle for a toddler’s little hands. The pieces are nice and large, brightly colored with nice smooth edges. The excitement of matching the pieces together is fun to watch, as those little hands try and fit the matching pieces to the colors and shapes of the picture. Once the pieces are all put together, the finished picture is beautiful. This Outer Space picture is just stunning with it’s brightly colored planets in orbit, silver metallic stars, silver suited astronauts and silver spaceships. The metallic silver in the puzzle really helps the little ones match the pieces. This is one puzzle, the toddlers can’t wait to put together all over again. 5 STARS.

This is a great, large puzzle, that has lots of detail and is very fun for children. HIGHLIGHTS: - colorful, detailed picture that was very engaging for my kids - he loved seeing what little picture detail was going to pop up next as it came together - a beautiful design is made even more engaging with metallic foil details in the picture to make it shiny - puzzle pieces are large and fun to play with - the box it comes in serves as a great storage box to keep the pieces together (including a handle!) I have a little trouble with it being called a "floor puzzle"... I've seen puzzles called that which have HUGE oversized pieces and the puzzle is 3+ feet wide when assembled... this one is only 18 x 24 inches assembled and could easily be assembled on any table (isn't much bigger than a regular puzzle) so I find that interesting. But it's still a super fun puzzle!
