Good solid construction and has auto-shut-off.

I don't buy anything with a heating element that doesn't automatically shut off. My coffee pot, my space heater, etc. This is a good addition to my desk and still has that auto-shut off. The base is heavy, metal with enamel paint, I think, and the heating pad is large enough for all but my gigantic novelty mug. Says it's sealed around the element to keep spills from getting in and seems to be true. The only annoyance is the light stays on even when it's auto-shut-off. Documentation says this is expected but i really wish they'd put the light on the other side of the timer. Recommended.

This is the perfect size for my large mugs but not too big to be imposing on my desk. The lids really help lock in the heat and it heats nice and evenly. I love this products!

Works Well

Nice size, attractive unit, fits well on a busy desk. So far, I have only used it with a porcelain cup with the saucer removed. Two thin lid covers are included and are easily peeled apart to reveal the two covers. The bottom of the covers are completely flat. A tiny nub/handle sits in the middle of the top side of each cover. When pressed down onto your cup, they provide a good seal to keep the heat in the cup. Keep in mind that condensation forms underneath so use caution when removing the lid so that water doesn't drip on important papers. I switch it on as soon as my coffee or tea is ready, so by the time I need it, it is already the temperature needed to keep the liquid hot.

This is a great warmer if you want to use larger mugs (or larger whatever). I had a mug warmer similar to the ones mostly on Amazon and many of my coffee mugs didn't fit on them. I then ordered one that had a flat glass like square top because then at least I could set my large mug on it.. but the heating element was small and not very hot and it didn't work well. This mug warmer fit my need. The only negative is that it is large - not just the heating element which is 3 7/8" across (that's what I wanted) but the border around that and the thickness (how high it sits off the desk). So for some, I could see the size being a turn-off. But, it heats really well. Better than anything I've had. I also like the silicon cover it came with to put over the top of your mug which is good if you know you're stepping away from your desk for a bit. It also looks and feels like quality, so I like it the look in addition to the function.

Perfect for keeping coffee HOT!! Large heating area is great!

2nd UPDATE May 2019: I am still using this cup warmer every day and it is still working just wonderfully!! It really keeps my coffee hot! I really liked the little covers that come with it, and they are necessary to keep hot beverages from evaporating, but they tend to collect dust, and feel “sticky”. It may sound nutty, but a silicone can cover (i.e., cat food can) turned upside down sits right inside the top of my mug and works as a perfect cover. Original review: Feb 2018 This is just perfect! The base is large enough for my large mugs (mug in photo has a 3.25” base) and it keep my coffee piping hot! I just got this so I’ll update in 30 days, but for now, I’m very pleases. The box comes without any documentation, so just be aware of that. There are (2) silicone lids included - we were bewildered at first because the two lids are stuck together making it look like one. But I looked closely in good light and i saw the two edges. Just a small warning - the lid will have some condensation on it whem you lift it off a hit mug, so be careful of the dripping. I can hear the “click” of the heating element turning on/off while I have my mug on the base. The actual on/off switch lights up when turned “On”, which will help me to make sure I turn it off right away. 1st UPDATE: It’s only been 2.5 weeks since receiving this coffee warmer, but I have used it every day, several times a day, and it is awesome!! It keeps my coffee piping hot, and even re-heating completely, if necessary. I switch it on only when I am sitting near it; if I get up to do chores I will turn it off. When ready to sit again and enjoy the rest of my cup, I just turn it back on and within a few minutes the coffee is warm again and will quickly reach a nice HOT temperature. I hightly recommend this mug warmer!

BEST OF IT'S KIND

This thing is AMAZING!!! Very different from others on the market that will only half warm your drink at best, this one will literally have it boiling, it gets very hot which is AWESOME specially if you get the right kind of mug which should be a FLAT bottom on. If you use a oval bottom or any other that is not completely flat and your drink doesn't get hot enough don't blame the product, blame your self for not following instructions because they clearly tell you which kind of mug to use and how to use it on the instructions. Also I have to say without exaggerating the auto-off feature on this thing saved my a.... It will automatically turn off after 3 minutes of continuous use and you'll have to manually reset it if you want it to start heating again, this might not sound like much but for me it was as I forgot to turn mine off and left home for a few hours, who knows what could have happened if this warmer didn't have that feature, just think about it. Overall fantastic and A+++ 100% Recommended

Best coffee warmer

Outstanding product. I looked long and hard for a mug warmer with a flat, wider base. Most have a black (painted, so it chips) heating plate that has a raised rim around it. This limits the size of your coffee cup. We use the Starbucks City mugs which have a wider than average base. The usual heaters just can't be used. This one is perfect. The actual heating plate is wide, it is stainless and the whole thing is flat with no ridges!!

Best Beverage Warmer Ever!!!

I buy a lot of stuff on-line, but this is only the second time I've written a review (shame on me, I know). I have owned about 5 different beverage/coffee warmers over the past 20 years, but this one, by far, is the best one ever!!! The way it's designed, it will hold larger mugs than virtually any other warmer. Also, the heating surface seems to be a lot better. I've had issues with most other warmers in the past where, after just a few weeks, the surface gets discolored and/or rusty/deteriorated (and it won't simply clean off). I've had this one for about 2 months now and it's still just like new (the way I would expect it to be). Also, the lids that come with it are awesome. I used to place a saucer on top of my coffee mug to help retain the heat, but since it was not air tight, it's effects were limited. The lids that come with this are very simple (rubber?) and they work very well, as I make a large morning mocha latte and I savor it for about 4 hours. One drawback on this warmer is that is shuts off automatically after 3 hours. I don't mind that safety/energy feature, but the fact that the light stays on after is shuts off is a little frustrating. If I don't remember to turn it off and then back on after 2-3 hours, I am reminded (that it turns off) by taking a sip of cooler coffee. Fortunately, most of the time I remember to reset it. As much as I think it would be better if they could change that part of the design, I still give it a 5 because it's so much better than all of the other ones I've had over the years.

Seems a good value

I've had it over a month now and it performs as advertised. I agonized over choosing a warmer for my coffee cup and I think this one was a good choice. There are plenty of cheaper ones that might've served, but I was worried about reviews that said they didn't get hot enough. At the beginning I would've given this one four stars because my coffee doesn't stay quite hot enough, but I've realized this is due to the cupped surface on the bottom of my cups; the heating surface of the warmer itself is very hot and will burn you if you leave a finger on it for more than a moment, so I don't doubt that a flat bottomed cup would keep the contents hot. Another nice thing is the size of the heated area, just shy 4". The shut-off at the 3 hour mark is a nice safety feature.
