• Max. Pull Force 35 lbs
  • Brass Tip
  • Magnetic V-Pad Base
  • Spring-loaded arm self-adjusts for REPETITIOUS WORK HOLDING. Slid arm to adjust hold-down force
  • Pinpoint holding provides maximum clearance for tack welds

How many times have you tack welded some small pieces and ended up slightly off due to the awkward way you had to fit it up? Well its happens to me. I saw these and gave it a try. WOW it truly is a third hand and not sure how I did without it. For art/craft welding you often have smallish piece hard to fit up, hold in place to get tacked. The weighted tip and magnetic base is well engineered and obviously invested by a welder. This solves many problems. I liked it so much I also ordered the "Pro model" (only $26) which doesn't have the V-magnet base (2 brass prongs instead), but has a small clamp up front and a ground strap at the back. Makes it easy to properly ground a smallish item.

Well made Strong Hand product. Adjustable length of holder arm is a nice feature. Great for holding down/on to smaller parts to be welded. Small brass tip won't get in the way. Strong pivoting magnetic base gives approximately 20lbs of holding force. You could probably fab up your own 3rd hand/hold down clamp but, for the money, its tough to beat all the features this Strong Hand tool offers.

Finally got to use this and works great

I noticed this tool while browsing and thought-"where has this been when I needed it"? Anybody that does fabrication or metal work knows the importance of all holding fixtures needed to secure pieces in place while tacking. The base will attach to circular or flat ferrous metal materials of any kind that would be magnetic. Well worth the price. Stores easily with magnetic base under welding bench or ????

This is a great tool if you work with small parts, whether on or off the workbench. This coupled with mag tabs, a vise, and maybe another larger third hand tool and you will not find many things you that can't be held onto for (especially tig) welding. The magnets are pretty strong and the spring is equally strong.

Heavy duty quality for hard use. Strong magnets. Quickly adjustable. Quite happy with this little device. So many other hold downs are just too large or bulky for some of the small items I TIG weld. The down pressure seems just about right and I can very quickly adjust to the item being welded. Thought of this as an extravagance but it is just a plainly useful tool.

As a hobbyist welder, this thing grasshopper is great! No more am I asking my 13 year old to hold something and burn his fingers (just kidding, seriously, just kidding). He learned not to hold it a long time ago (just kidding again) This is actually one of my favorite welding finger/magnet I have. Wish I had bought it years ago.

I thought my regular weighted welding grasshopper / third hand was indispensable, but this hold-down is even more versatile because of the magnets. It works essentially the same way, but at almost any angle because of the combination of magnets and spring tensioner. I love it.

Absolutely terrific product! Very strong magnets and the spring tension is quite substantial. Works great on our Certiflat welding table.

This device has a very strong magnet and an adjustable arm to hold down parts while you weld. This third-hand is really helpful. The cheaper model is very similar but the magnet is weaker and the arm is shorter.
