Superior Customer Service

Just want to share my experience with BeaverCraft. I had a problem with the strop I ordered and I wrote review remarking to how I was disappointed with the strop and polish compound. I didn't pan or bad-mouth the product. I even said maybe my feelings would change over time. I soon heard from a customer service rep, apologizing for my experience and to make things right, a replacement strop was on the way. Wow! I didn't expect this and it certainly wasn't my aim. So when the replacement arrived this morning BeaverCraft wowed me again with an upgraded version of the strop. This is customer service above and beyond what's reasonably expected. Very impressed!

Strop and compound will last for years..

I use this strop almost every day and Ive had it for almost a year it works perfectly and I have over half of the compound left. You have to glue to something flat. I gorilla glues mine to a piece of wormy chestnut. Only thing is you might need to watch the edges of the strop. I trimmed off the 90 degree edge .

Great product at a good price!

Makes for a perfect strop! I made a paddle and glued the leather to it on one side and on the opposite side I glued a similarly sized piece of chip board for stropping the backs on my chisels and plane irons.

Works very well. Good investment for first time strop.

I bought this product so that I could hone my chisel and plane iron. I’ve never stropped before and was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was. Did I get a perfectly polished edge? No, but I think that’s because it’s my first time and I have no idea how long to do it for. Maybe the free educational material they just sent me will help me improve my technique. Regardless, it improved the sharpness and I got was able to get a smoother and smaller shaving for my woodwork. Edit: after getting a better sharpening setup than wet/dry paper and sharpening on a 1200 grit diamond stone, this strop managed to get my cutting edge to almost a mirror polish. I am very excited to continue using this, and I will be buying my next strop from them when this one has met its end.

I was able to put a polished edge on many knives!

This is a very important product if you have knives that you want to put a fine edge on. I have used it a lot since I received it and now my knives all cut paper effortlessly! The price is acceptable and the quality is excellent.

Must hv for true razor sharpness

Definitely gonna take sum practice and YouTube videos, but eventually you get your flow and it makes a great difference in knife sharpness for a complete finish. Also wont remove tons of metel like a sharpener great for a decent edc

As expected

It is a leather strop. Kinda pricey for a piece of leather. It does a good job dressing an edge.

Close to the old-fashioned razor strop

When I was in college, I shaved with a straight razor. In order to do this correctly, I got my barber to teach me how to sharpen a razor properly. I won't say that I am an expert, but I could put a really good edge on just about any straight razor that had a clean edge on it. This required the proper stones and, of course, a good razor strop. This one is an easy-to-use replacement for the old-style strop you used to see in a barber shop, but MUCH easier to learn to use.

Seller very responsive, quickly replaced the defective strop

I have decided to try to sharpen my cooking knives and purchased this strop and compound for finishing the edge. Half of the coarse leather is very loose and spongy, a tuft came off as I was trying to put the compound on. The videos showed using the coarse side for the compound and smooth side for finishing. Can any one who has experience with using a strop tell me if I am wrong in thinking that the coarse side is defective and unusable? Follow up comment: Seller very good, quickly replaced the defective strop, provided help with use to sharpen knives.
