Recorders Are Instruments of The Devil

I am giving this a 5 star review in protest. I HATE recorders. I would NEVER buy one voluntarily. However, apparently my daughter's new school uses them as part of the music program from grades 3-5. (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGODNOPLEASEHELPMEICANTTAKEIT!) and she needed one. So as much as I HATE recorders, this one seems to be much more sturdy than the kind you'd get in the toy section at Target. It came with the cleany thing, and it came in a clear plastic pouch. So for what it is, an instrument used to summon the devil, I'm pretty sure, it's a good one.

The color of the recorder was exactly how it appeared on the screen (was worried it might turn out a different shade of yelloe)

I am 25 and decided for 2016 I was going to fulfill my childhood goals and one of those was learn how to play some sort of pipe/wind instrument. I got the recorder mostly because it was in my price range. The color of the recorder was exactly how it appeared on the screen (was worried it might turn out a different shade of yelloe) but it was perfect :) It came with plastic holder, and plastic cleaning stick, and also a paper that shows which holes are which notes. I would recommend learning from youtube becuase it is more helpful than a piece of paper. It arrived a few days early so that was nice. I had looked at other reviews before buying and I think they could easily be fixed. One person was complaining that some of the notes sound the same but when I looked at the paper it actually showed that some notes have different variations of which holes to cover so maybe that was why? Also another person complained that it was a harsh screeching sound. I looked this up on youtube and apparently you shouldn't blow too hard. If you blow too hard it wont make the right notes. Anyways I gave a five because it was a speedy delivery, was exactly what I ordered, a good price, and it was in great condition. Thanks!

My 8 year old needed a recorder for school, so my husband ordered her this one. It works well and is well made and sturdy. Our daughter loves the blue color and was excited she was the only kid in her class to have a "cool" recorder. We are very happy with this purchase.

Works just fine

My son needed a recorder for his 4th grade music class. This is the one we got and it has worked great, very reasonable price. Overall pleased and no complaints.

Sounds the same as the boring black and white versions

I really would prefer not to give it the "I love it" rating. However that is because of the constant sounds that are produced by a fourth grade student and nothing to do with the actual instrument. All parents can probably related to the joy you have when your child comes home proudly announcing they are learning recorders this year at school. Put on that fake smile and tell them you are excited to hear them play. It isn't so much about how good they are at playing but more about the constant noise they produce. My daughter was gifted a fun colored recorder from the $1 section of a store (thanks grandma) prior to officially learning how to play. That thing was pure torture to listen to. The notes that come from the Kingso Soprano Recorder actually were real notes that changed as you covered up the holes in different patters. And, you could recognize a song after a little bit of practice. I was hesitant to purchase a teal colored recorder because I have only seen the standard issued black recorders (sound okay if user has skill) and colored ones were more like toys. However, I figured if I could actually get my daughter to practice by purchasing the color she liked it might be worth it.

Clear, loud, wonderful NOISE. I bought this one in my favorite color for myself and another for my sister so we could anno— I mean play solos and duets for the family at Thanksgiving. They were as appreciative as you would imagine. The only thing that would have improved this item in my amateur opinion would have been some sheet music of elementary songs to be played by beginners such as my sister and myself, but fortunately we remembered our "Hot Cross Buns" from lo so many years ago in primary school. Incidentally, I purchased these with a chrome flask which I filled with chocolate vodka to stay warm on those chilly days of busking for pocket change. If you have the means, I recommend this pairing.

Awesome quality, Pretty color, PERFECT pitches!

This recorder is PERFECT it's very sturdy, the notes are exactly the right pitch and, it came out the EXACT color as the thumbnail. I recommend this to anyone who is looking to play a easy and fun instrument. It came with a clear case, a plastic cleaner (witch I honestly don't really know who to use 🙃) my 10yr old loves it!
