Most reviews for this listing are for the HS200 Smart Switch. This is NOT that product. This product is actually the newly released HS220 Smart Dimmer. Yes, it is a dimmer and works great with the Kasa app and Amazon Alexa. Very easy installation and setup but you must have a neutral wire at the switch location for this to work. Alexa integration is also a snap to configure. Be advised that this is only rated at 300W incandescent which is pretty low if controlling a bank of incandescent ceiling can lights. LED is a hefty 150W though. I also have a TP-Link Smart Switch (HS200) and 2 Smart Plugs (HS105) that work equally as well.

This was exactly what I needed. I was going to be spending a lot of time in bed (surgery) and needed a way to control my overhead light from the comfort of my bed. This was perfect! The dimmer is a great bonus. It was very easy to install (video in the pics section) and installation was quick. Took me less than 15 mins. I would buy these for my whole house! I would highly recommend to anyone with mobility issues as this can be a great Benicia to to times you forget to switch off the light and don’t feel like getting back up. I will be purchasing these for my elderly mother as well. Works great with Alexa and can even control the dimmer through Alexa!

Performed a lot of research before pulling the trigger on these light switches. I bought 2 of the single pole and 1 of the double pole set. SO incredibly easy to set up once the switches are installed in the wall! Less than 2 minutes to hook up to the wifi and operate. I can now control my art lights from my phone, set a schedule, etc. Ditto for the lights in the kitchen. If you want dimmable lights: 1. Make certain when you purchase Kasa . . . switches that are compatible for DIMMING. It will say on the box. 2. Make certain you install LED bulbs that are DIMMABLE. Common sense, but many people leave bad reviews for great items because they are not following the parameters of the products.

This dimmer is excellent - looks great, easy to install (if you have a neutral wire and general understanding of 'attach cable A to cable B'-type instructions and using a screwdriver), and the dimming is super smooth. Alexa integration is TIGHT - "Alexa, turn family room to 30%" - BOOM. This looks super clean on the wall and the 'screwless' faceplate is really clean. My only complaint is the 'screwless' faceplate. It comes pre-installed, which means you have to pop it off to install the switch, and it doesn't come off easily. After I installed the switch, I popped on the faceplate and it was uneven, so I had to take it off to straighten out the switch and pop it back on. Removing it every time I was CERTAIN I was about the snap the thing in half. For such a great product, this is a REALLY STUPID thing to have be so difficult. Let me slide it up or sideways or something if you care so much about not showing screws. It's nice to not have screws showing, but seems like this was made a lot more difficult that it should have been. TP-Link Kasa general impressions: I have a number of TP-Link Kasa products in my house and have been really impressed with them. I haven't experienced the disconnects or drop-outs or sporadic workability as with my WeMo products or other "smart" home devices. Alexa integration is tight and whereas I have had issues with the ecobee, iRobot, WeMo, Harmony, and Roku commands/integrations on my Echo, I've never had an issue with the Kasa products. I've never had a switch lose or miss its schedule or not be responsive in the app. I don't know why, but Kasa products have seemed to "just work" with me (knock on wood).

I ordered the dimmer switch version of this switch (model HS-220) and I can say that I love it. The physical installation of the switch was straightforward and installed like any other switch, with the exception of the neutral wire. The switch is pretty bulky, but I was able to make it fit just fine. Setting up through the Kasa app is fairly simple. The switch integrates nicely with Google assistant on my phone. I have an older nexus phone, and I use it with google assistant to turn my lights on and off, as opposed to using the Kasa app. The Kasa app just takes a little while to load on my phone, but with google assistant the operation is almost instant. I also have the switch set up under IFTTT, so I can have my switch turn on if my Hello Nest detects motion, and to turn the switch off automatically at a certain time. IFTTT could use more support though as it would be nice to limit more complex operations to certain hours of the day. The only con is the indicator light on the switch, which can be seen at night. There is nothing wrong with it particularly, it is just noticeably different from my other switches at night in the dark. This is not really a deal breaker, and will be less apparent if and when I replace other switches.

Great dimmer switch. Easy to install (as long as you know basic electrical), easy to setup and integrate with my network and control devices (Alexa). Looks great. Functionality is great as well. Works well with my LED bulbs. Setting it up in the app was easy to do and I like the recommendations it makes for the dimming range for each bulb (different bulbs require different minimum power levels to turn on).

Simple to get up and going for those with any smarthome device setup process. Linked these switches to Alexa and ITTF both linked without issue and have worked without looking back (2 months so far) Using them with GE Dimmable LED bulbs and dimming function works excellent with a wide range. 6x40w equivalent on one switch and 2x100w equivalent on another. I like the multi function switch better than the other 'up for on' 'down for off' since the app lets you customize the diffrent press options. Example - you can set things like 'hold when off, for full brightness' & 'press when off for previous brightness' VS 'press when off, for full brighness' & 'hold when off, for previous brightness'.

I waited a month to write this review to see if the product failed after installation. I have installed other "smart dimmers" in the past and they went offline constantly and needed to be reset numerous times. I ripped them out and threw them in the trash they were so frustrating. I would be away from home and want to turn the lights on remotely, and the app would say "dimmer unavailable/offline. This one has been rock solid. It has the ability to program multiple schedules, has 3 preset level buttons within the app. The app is great. Very user-friendly, and easy. I believe you must have a neutral and hot wires for it to work. I did not have a ground wire- Just the neutral and hot and it works.

I’m using this dimmer in my study. I installed it myself and I’m not an electrician. Just follow the directions. I downloaded the Kasa application and everything was straightforward and easy. It works very well, it responds quickly to commands and the application has a lot of helpful features. The main issue I’m facing is a buzzing sound coming from the bulbs when they’re dimmed. It’s a very soft buzz, can be easily masked with soft music. The light bulbs are LED FEIT and it seems an incompatibility between dimmer and bulbs. But not a big deal. I’m getting many Other Kasa products. The cameras will have to wait until it allows to record locally on my NAS.
