This washer is designed for high efficiency (HE) liquid detergent, (HE) powder detergent or (HE) detergent sheets ONLY.

  • AUTOMATIC UNBALANCE DETECTION- Portable Washing Machines can sometimes vibrate uncontrollably if the laundry inside the stainless steel tub is not distributed equally inside. To remedy this problem, we designed our washers with an automatic unbalance detection mechanism that will adjust the imbalance in the tub and correct this issue by itself. We also included an adjustable front leg further adding stability to this unit

So I got this washer because my house doesn’t have a washer and dryer anymore, and the cost to add a washer and dryer set up and buy a new washer and dryer was just to much for a college student. My family never made it a priority to install new ones so we’ve been going to the laundromat ever since. I however can’t stand hauling clothes to and from the car to the laundromat, plus the moderate anguish it is to wash your dirty chlothes in front of others when you could be doing it at home. I finally after tons of research settled on this one rather than the twin tub varieties. Now here’s my list of pros and cons. Pros: 1. This washer is very small yet very powerful. I’ve been able to wash a pair of jeans, work pants, jean shorts, underwear, dish towels, ect. I can was 10 shirts in at once, or 4 shirts, two pants, and few undies. 2. It’s pretty quiet. The only sound you hear is the sloshing of the water when washing which is moderate. The spin cycle isn’t to bad either on the noise level. 3. The spin cycle gets pretty much all the water out. It leaves your chlothes about 85% percent dry. You just hang them up after and your good to go after a few hours. 4.) It uses less energy and water than a traditional washer and takes up way less space. Now for the Cons 1. It’s only has two small back wheels that barely work on my hardwood and vinyl floors. It might be easier to pick up than a regular washer but that doesn’t make it less of a hassle if you plan on rolling it back into a closet after use. I would suggest getting one of those pvc roller to make it easier to roll around. 2. It’s tiny so it would be very easy to overload this and would be impractical for say a large family to rely on completely. You also can’t wash large fabrics though I haven’t tried I don’t think a comforter or large bed sheet would work. It looks like you could fit maybe a twin size bed sheet or a small blanket. 3. Because it’s so tiny and can only hold so much you would have to run your laundry in more shifts. You don’t have the normal large capacity so you’d have to do multiple small loads so if you did have tons of dirty clothes it would take awhile to wash and dry all of them. Also because you’re doing so many loads one would have to question if you were really saving water. 4.) I find that there is always some water left in the bottom of the machine even after draining. If the drain hose falls after you’re done that excess water dribbles out. 5. Kinda minor but the lint trap works but not super well. This could easily clog your sink if you aren’t careful to set up a net to catch it all. Plus your dark clothes might come out a little covered but nothing a lint roller can’t fix. Really most of these cons depend on your lifestyle, how many people plan to use this washer, how many clothes you need to wash on a daily/weekly basis. Two to three people could easily get away with this has the only form of washing chlothes.

I have been using this non stop all day. Setup takes under 5 minutes. The connections included are metal, not plastic. I ordered a Giantex model just like this one a week ago and it leaked everywhere, would not spin, and had cheap plastic connectors (hence the leaks, you can't connect plastic threads to metal ones without problems.) The B&D unit has NO issues. No leaks, every load has been perfect. It is VERY simple as far as wash preferences go (3 settings) which I like. It washes EXACTLY the same as a conventional washer, just on a smaller scale. Set your cycle and walk away. Clothes are JUST as clean as any other method. It literally IS a tiny washer, not a gimmiky work-around. It also looks a lot nicer aesthetically. The Giantex kinda looked like a trash can or a kid's toy. This one looks a lot closer to a real washer. As this is going to be our main/only washer in a 320 sq ft tiny house, nice looks are a plus. This unit is about $40 more than the Giantex, which was the CHEAPEST in this style washer on Amazon, but the B&D is totally worth the money. I have 3 other B&D tools in my collection, so I figured ponying up for a dependable brand name would be worth it and it was. Save yourself a headache and invest in this unit.

I love this machine! I have been renting for about 20 years, I move every 1-2 years for work. This means constantly dealing with a different laundry situation everywhere. Hauling it up/down stairs, using machines that are in terrible shape, paying for laundromats, or just doing it all myself in the bathtub. I got this B&D washing machine after moving into (another) 3rd floor walkup with laundry machines in the basement. I finally hit my limit and decided that I can't be hauling heavy laundry up all those stairs anymore. After doing research online into brands and types of portable washers, I went with this one based on positive reviews and because it seemed sturdier and better quality than some of the other cheaper machines out there. Basically this washing machine is just like a regular washing machine except that it's smaller and uses the sink as a hookup. It has different cycles (I love the 19 min 'rapid' cycle!), it spins everything at the end so they will hang dry quicker than when I handwash things myself. It says you should only use cold water, this has been fine for getting my things clean. You could easily use warm/hot water instead but the instructions say that it can degrade the machine parts so I haven't bothered with it. It is pretty heavy. The wheels made it easy to maneuver around once it was inside my apartment, but when the box was delivered I had to haul it up a bunch of stairs by myself. I had thought based on other reviews that it would be easier to physically carry around- but realized later they meant that the wheels help you move it, which is true but it is a pretty heavy appliance that arrives in a big box if you will be carrying it upstairs on your own. I haven't had any problems with leaks at all. And based on how the machine is set up, I don't really see how it could leak, it really is just a smaller version of a regular washing machine. BUT, you do need to be sure you have the hose securely screwed into the sink faucet. For example, once when I was using it, the hose had popped off the sink (totally my fault, hadn't figured out yet exactly how to connect it), so water was just running into the sink for a few minutes before I figured out what was going on. And you do need to have a sink that drains well. If your sink is clogged or the drain is really slow, your sink could overflow while the washing machine is draining. I waited until I had the washing machine for about a month to write a review, just to be sure I've really tested it out and I LOVE THIS MACHINE! I no longer dread doing laundry. It's a simple weekend task, I do a couple loads and then hang it all up to dry. I live in a humid climate so drying takes a day or so. It is still a major improvement after years of renting without a washing machine in my home. When you get the machine, there is this plastic panel and 2 screws so that you can attach the panel to the bottom of the machine. I could never figure out where the screws went, the instructions weren't very helpful. So I just slid the panel onto the bottom of the machine without the screws, it didn't seem crucial to the functioning of the machine itself. So far I haven't noticed any problems.

Just got this little cutie and set it up. Did a test load, and it performed great! No shaking at all, level out of the box during entire load. I was worried that the drain hose would be too much for the small bathroom sink but it all kept up and drained properly. Very happy with this purchase. I am going to buy a second one of these for a small in-law suite I have at my house. High marks all around. Black & Decker is the way to go.

Buy this washer, it is a fabulous washer, it is easy to use. Gets my jeans clean and does a great job on my laundry. No more laundry mat for me woo hoo

I just bought this machine and I absolutely love it. It’s perfect for those who are single. I was tired of sharing a machine and have to go up and down a few flights of stairs. It washes more than I thought. The only thing is the water hose and drain hose are kinda short, but those are easy fixes. No leaking yet, but I will wait awhile and write another review.

Great machine for apartment, thought it might not be all that good, but was pleasantly surprised. Does an even better job than our regular washer at home, just much smaller loads. I'm able to do about 3 days worth of clothes at one shot. Very pleased. Light enough that i was able to carry it up one flight by myself, yet once set up it doesn't wobble or move, even when spinning fast. It says you can only use HE powder, which I couldn't find, so I've used just a very little HE liquid and it works great.

Works great and holds more than I thought it would. we've had it for over a month and have done four or more loads a week. it started leaking but the drain hose was detached a little bit and the cause of our issue. pushed it in until it clicked and it fixed the problem. bottom is a little difficult to put on and took some time to figure out how it went, but other than that, it works perfectly and saves us a trip!

Where do I start? I've only had it a few days and only run two loads but I love this little machine! I read reviews for this machine and other similar ones before buying and took some tips from them. It's very quiet and easy to use. The only trouble I had was finding the right parts to adapt the hose to my kitchen sink. I have a built in hose sprayer which isn't a standard size. So I went to the plumbing department at home depot and after about 20 minutes with the associate there comparing my sprayer and the hose to the various adapters, I had the right part. I'll update the review if anything changes.

Came on time! Brand new. Quite sound and light weighted. I am so happy that my 10 years old son is doing his own laundry. Cleans clothes very good and spins too. Good quality.
