I have used this gate for my dog since he was a puppy. I had to get a new one because I couldn't bring the other one when I moved. I love this gate. It is the perfect height for keeping a dog in (just remember to put the bar on the opposite side of the dog or they can use it as a "step" to jump over), and I can still step over it at 5' 4". My dog can jump over the shorter version of this gate, plus this one is longer for more variety in uses.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. After trying (in vain) to barricade my #20 Miniature Schnauzer puppy in the bedroom, NOTHING worked. I tried my hundred pound TV recliner, he jumped right over it. Then I added a wooden box and an office chair to the wall, and he STILL managed to escape, running around the house like he owned it. He was like Houddini, an expert escape artist. But just before giving up, I ordered this inexpensive gate, in the taller size, and tried it today... AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY!!! If I could give it Ten Stars, believe me, I would. The setup was quick and easy, and the gate held firm. Just one note to those who seemed to think it was too fragile, though. Be extremely careful when you're first setting it up. If you try one setting and the bars begin to bow outwards, IMMEDIATELY STOP. You've set it way too wide. Just keep adjusting the stops until you find "just the right one," that will secure your gate firmly, yet not put excessive stress on the bars. Once I found the perfect setting, I marked the exact slot with a red magic marker so I could find it instantly, instead of having to do the procedure all over again :)

I got this gate for the purpose of cat introductions. We have the new cat separated and needed something so that the two cats could still see each other but not get at each other. The gate is pretty tall, and the new cat who is almost 2 years old hasn't tried jumping over it. The other cat is too old for jumping high. I think since there isn't a ledge, cats won't jump over it. I might be wrong though. A very agile kitten could maybe climb up it I supposed. My new cat is pretty agile and can jump high though, and she can't get over the gate. The gate is definitely sturdy enough for cats. Setup was easy too.

I raised my children long ago and can say I would definitely purchase this to keep toddlers out of rooms where they might injure themselves. I didn't buy this to keep children out of a room, I bought it because I married a lovely woman and her nasty cat came in the bargain. This nasty piece of work (the cat) follows me into the kitchen and then into the dining room to beg for treats. On special evenings, she sneaks up quietly as cats are wont to do, and has tripped me several times. I bought this to block off the route into the kitchen/dining room so this feline piece of nasty can't follow me. The cat has grown sufficiently old that she can't jump over this gate, so it works for the purpose intended. Whoopee!

I bought this to use on my deck outside to keep the cat in. I needed a gate that was wider and taller than the norm. Almost 46" wide and 32" tall, taller since I dont have it flush with the deck floor. This goes to about 50" wide easily. I didn't want to pay a lot so this was definitely a good price. It arrived very quickly and was packaged perfectly. Easy to get out of the box. Took nano seconds to set up. Seth, the cat, eyed it and thought he could jump it (he probably can) or go under it (he can't) but then decided against it. I liked it so much, I bought a second one for the other side and it came the next day. It has buffers so you have an extra inch on either side and it doesnt scratch the doorway or walls. It's not a heavy gate but it fits tightly enough to resist knockdown. I recommend this product and seller...PS Seth slipped through the railings, (I wasnt sure he could, he did) and jumped. Smart cat, not so smart owner....

I have a climber kitty who wants to attack the other, so I bought two of these and put them one on top of the other. She still manages to occasionally jump over because she can use the square holes to climb up. If I'm watching, she doesn't do it. Still allows the two kitties to interact without attacking each other though, and the price made these a good choice for that need. We are slowly but surely improving the cats' relationship with each other by allowing them to interact through the gate rather than throwing them together. Works as expected.

Works exactly as advertised, keeps both my Lab and Jack Russell from getting past where I set it up, tall enough so that my JR won't try to leap over it, which she has done with ease with shorter gates. Strong enough to keep my larger Lab from pushing through it. Quality of materials and strength of the construction is excellent for the price, I was looking at other gates 4x the price or more for essentially the same thing. Doesn't damage the walls and I've tested by pushing hard against the gate and there's virtually no chance my dogs will get past it, it would take a very aggressive and strong dog to get through it. It's also a very simple process to remove and resize it for different placement, a matter of seconds, if you are gonna move it I would make notches or markings on the measurement bar to make it quicker. I honestly wasn't expecting much for the price, but am very pleased with this gate and would recommend it to others looking to keep their pets where they want them.

I love how tall this is! I ordered this because my 2 year old toddler would wake up in the morning and very quietly sneak out of his room and get into stuff throughout the house before I woke up. This has eliminated the problem completely. He'll try to climb up it but the wire like mesh would hurt his feet if he put any weight on it. It's not sharp or anything, just uncomfortable. I noticed a review where someone said the stick snapped while trying to clamp it down. And it's true like most baby gates the wood is flimsy, but if you create the right amount of tension it will never snap. I was too lazy to mesure the space so I just started at the first indentation and went up one until it held the gate in place. If you go two slots over the right measurement I'm pretty sure it will snap. But even if it feels like there's not a lot of tension when pushing the stick down, it should still stick to the wall. it will be set in place and hold up just fine. I had my toddler test it out with pulling and pushing and it didn't move at all. I needed to get a taller gate for my son but I do wish it was just a little bit shorter so I could step over it. I'm 5'4" and I can't step over it which is kinda annoying having to undo it and redo it all the time when I'm using it. If it were just a little bit shorter it would be absolutely perfect. All in all I'm very happy with this gate. It reaches out far so I can use it in the kitchen walkway as well. The price is very very cheap and the wood may be flimsy but I have payed more for worse than this. As long as you know how to use it correctly, and UNDERSTAND that it's not supposed to have that much tension it's a great tool to have when you got a toddler running around. Hope my review is helpful to you!

Should be in the PET SECTION ALSO. This is the GATE my mom has had for YEARS - I bought FOUR for our Rescue Operation. This is the ONLY gate that is removable and resizable IMMEDIATELY to move from doorway to hall to entry within SECONDS to control PUPPIES, or several dogs. Too HIGH for them to jump over, extremely strong (can not be pushed over, unless you have an EXTREMELY AGRESSIVE DOG) with the pressure mounts, and WILL NOT DAMAGE WALLS. However NOT too high for the CAT (if you have one) to jump when she wants to travel past. LOVE THIS GATE

I am introducing a new cat to the home and need a quiet area for time outs. I thought the gate would be too short and the cats would jump over it, but they do not. They are pretty young agile cats. Had to look on line to figure out how to snap the gate closed. You have to life the upper bar up toward the center. WE marked the slats where the gate should lock and its really easy to open and close. Great for the price and shuts tight
