This was an awesome kit! I bought a separate container with the intention of pouring a candle but didn't have any of the stuff to do it. This kit comes with just enough wax and wicks to make 4 8oz candles to start you off. And then you have the rest of the gear to make candles later buying your own wax and wicks. Loved it, definitely recommend this for a beginner!

Nice little beginner kit -

I purchased this kit after I suggested to my Grand kids that we could make candles for their mothers and teachers instead of buying Christmas Gifts. I am never sure why, as the Grandfather, I suggest these things. I think of things that sound good in my head and it seems to spill out of my mouth before I can get them back. Having said it, I went looking for a way to make it happen. I found this little starter kit which only has supplies for 4 small 8 oz candles but makes a nice starting point. I bought a few more supplies (OK, A LOT) and the 5 grands (ages 6 to 16) and I started to make their candle gifts. It was no where near as bad as I envisioned. A bit of a mess but not horrible and this kit with pre-measured supplies was a nice way to begin the learning curve. It has 4 - 1/2 pound bags (2 lbs. total) of Soy Wax. Each bag makes 1 - 8 oz. container candle. Soy wax is very soft and doesn't seem to work well for molds (found that out the hard way...) but if you start with this kit and use the simple instructions, you can then easily buy more supplies to do more. We did 20 candles and the kids had a blast. I sent them home and took a nap... then realized my house ... well it was fun.

Made my FIRST candle with ease!

I have only used this product to make one of the four candles. Since I am a beginner, I decided to give this product a try. It came with everything I needed to dip my toe in this new endeavor. My candle(s) came out nice. One thing to note is that the amount of wax in one bag (suggested use is one bag per candle for use in the provided tins) is more than enough to fill the tin and a few small votives if you have the supplies. I just happened to have a few extra votives, so I was able to make a few small candles out of the one bag as well as one tin. I would also purchase a few extra wicks. The wax colors are deep if you use the full amount of the ones provided. If you would like a softer color, I would start with one square. The kit comes with two squares per color. All in all, I am satisfied with my purchase.

Great product

I really love this kit. Only had a few issues but nothing major. The bags of wax when melted make more than what fits in one tin so I poured the extra into empty wax trays for scented wax melts. Also, it really doesn’t take a whole lot of dye to color the wax but the dye packs provided are really hard to break or cut. You also don’t need to use the whole bottle of scent like the directions say. I absolutely love the melting pot, it’s super easy to clean and doesn’t get super hot. I actually wish this company sold other kits, that included extra materials like everything you get in the original kit excluding the melting pot. Like stirring sticks, wicks with glue dots, wick holders, and warning labels etc. basically everything you’d need to make more candles only having to buy the wax, dye, and tins separate.

I get tired of spending money on candles so I decided to try this kit. I wanted to make something for my coworkers for Christmas stocking stuffers, and this fit the bill! This kit arrived right on time and within MINUTES I was busy making candles. It actually took me more time to open the box and pull out everything included than it did to begin the process. Super easy and everything you need comes in the kit. I did order extra wax because I knew what was initially included wouldn't be enough once I got started. Now I want to make candles for everyone I know. My biggest complaint (if you can call it that) is that you have to use the entire bottle of fragrance in one (small) candle. But I can buy more so it's not a big deal. I highly recommend!

Useful, fun, easy to get started

The picture is just of the partial kit, I really wanted to show the Instructions that came with. This helped me get started with confidence. The scents are delicious! The stir ticks are a little flimsy, so I just used a wooden chopstick instead. A few internet searches helped with some ideas, pour temperatures, and cure time.
