This set is nicer than some more expensive sets that are available
First off, I did not buy this set to make money with, but rather to save money with. It will get used once in a blue moon, so I'm confident it will hold up to occasional usage. If I were using this type of gear regularly, I'd go with the Robinair of comparable kit made for continuous usage. I went to HFT and looked at their set ($59.99) first hand and this set is way nicer for less money.

Excellent for occasional user
I had been borrowing gauge sets from some auto parts stores. Half the time I was hooking up to 1/4" schrader valves and needed all kinds of adapters with the modern gauge sets. This set is old style and screws directly to 1/4" without the r134a adapters on the end (source of some bad reviews). One reviewer said not, but he either had the hoses on backwards or failed to back out the pin that depresses the schrader valve. This alone was worth $36 to have around. If treated gently I think it will last. If you are working on old r12 systems I highly suggest looking into Enviro-safe or other r12 replacements. I believe it to be a better fit and r134a is being demonized and discontinued now that the patents are expiring. Join the rest of the world, get away from corp/gov abuse.

Fittings look wrong but they work!
I was concerned like the reviewer mason who posted a picture that the fittings looked open but they are spring loaded and both seated fine and made a solid connection when pushed onto their respective ports. Best priced set of manifold gauges I was able to find with same day shipping. The connections don't have valves on them they are only at the manifold but it still worked great and the ends could always be replaced with ones that have valves later. Came with an r134a can tap too which is a plus.

Good value, works fine
No long term usage. Seems like a decent gauge set for the average user. Nice to have the case to keep everything clean and protected. Shipped free and quickly, and probably can't beat the quality for the price. Do note that the little adapter for the ACME treads doesn't work with some can tap valves for the self sealing cans. (ACPRO dv134 is one of those) The supplied tap valve is not exactly correct for these new cans, but it actually does work with them and the old cans too. Hoses use the nylon seals, work ok but do need to be really tight. Looks like the old neoprene seals will work for replacements (Yellow Jacket 19020 by Ritchie) if you wanted a better seal. Hoses with my kit were 47 inches overall length. Decent kit for the money.

Get set of Manifold gauges
These gauges are great for the DIYer like myself. Everything you need comes in the kit except for the adapter to screw on to the newer style of cans, which you can get for a few bucks here on amazon or down at your local wally world. As a side note always clear the gauges of pressure when your done as this can cause the accuracy to be off. If you do and the gauges are off just take the plastic cap off the front and use a very small screw driver and slowly turn either way the gauge is off.

Fantastic Value
I had to replace my AC Compressor and Condenser and used this to recharge the system. For the price of a DIY Oil Change, this gauge set is a great value for those of us who routinely service our own vehicles. The connections work easily without any leaks, as long as you tighten the adapters. Combine with a quality vacuum pump, and you can easily do your own AC maintenance and repair. The Adapter and valve for refrigerant worked wonderfully.

Worked great, no leaks and nice packaging.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase here. My wife's suburban had A/C problems so I bought this to diagnose. A few youtube videos later and now I'm an A/C expert! haha. This really helped troubleshoot and made it easy to fill the system without using those trigger cans from the car parts store.

Worth it to buy
If you’re debating whether you should buy this or just rent one, buy it. Because if you’re a total novice like I am and you’ve just done your ac system, chances are you’ve probably missed tightening something up to spec and it’ll leak off in a week or two, then you’ll have to vacuum the system again, rent another gauge set, blah blah blah. I just bought these and haven’t looked back. I’ve done a few cars with it now.

Used on 2005 suburban for AC repair
I used this to draw vacuum and recharge on my 2005 suburban after eepairing a bad condenser, it worked very well, my only complaint was the connections would come loose while rocking the freon can from 12 to 6 o'clock during recharging. This could be normal, and its easy to see and stop. Not a dealbreaker or worth knocking off a star, just informing potential buyers. You dont want to over tighten, so this kinda seems like it would happen.

Saved a ton on car repair.
It worked like a dream and saved me a ton one auto repair. Only issue it, it is best to just remove the whole exhaust post (they have you do the cap. There is no separate oil intake, you pour in at air exhaust port.) Whole port screws easy off and on. Buy taking the whole exhaust off the oil flows in easier (no waiting for it to slowly seep past escaping air) and you have less of a mess from spilled oil.
