• The Ranger 1300 rangefinder is easy to use and features a clean, illuminated display and highly intuitive menu. The Ranger 1300 is capable of ranging up to 1,300 yards.
  • The primary HCD mode displays an angle compensated distance that is ideal for the majority of hunters and shooters. An advanced LOS mode provides you the option to calculate long distance, high angle shots with increased precision.
  • A scan feature gives continuous range readings as you pan across a landscape or track a moving target. Three brightness settings allow the display to stay visible in various light conditions.
  • Fully multi-coated lenses deliver optimal light transmission. Textured rubber armor provides a secure, non-slip grip. Water and fogproof performance keep the system operating in the harshest conditions.
  • The included neck lanyard and removable utility clip make the Ranger easy to pack and keep handy.

Arrived as promised and in new packaging. I love the lightweight and compact design. Much better than my old, old range finder. I have only used my ranger 1300 twice so far. First in the neighborhood on cars and signs. It ranged quickly on items out to 517 yds at dusk. On my first hunt today it was in the woods. I used it before first light on trees and such and it ranged items rapidly and I was impressed that it reads items still barely visible to the naked eye. The hcd mode it probably all I'll use. The display brightness is awesome. I had to use low as medium and high brightness was over the top bright. Toggling thru the settings is easy to understand. Just a quick read of the manual was all that was needed. I've not used the scan function yet but holding the measure button and it goes right into scan. So far it appears to b a great hunting accessory. Will update if I encounter issues later on.

After I dropped number of hints, my wife bought this range finder for me as an early Christmas present. I could write a thorough review by just saying "it's a Vortex product", enough said, but let me elaborate. When I need anything associated with hunting optics, I look for Vortex products. If I don't find exactly what I'm looking for, which never really happens, I buy the Vortex product closest to it. Since buying my last Vortex scope a couple of years ago, when I shopped for this range finder it was evident that this company has gained in popularity, and well it should. I gave my grandson one of my 270 rifles equipped with one of my Vortex scopes. The report from my son, who takes his hunting very seriously, is that my grandson owns the best scope in the house! I never doubted that would be true. Vortex optics are the BEST, bar none. This range finder is accurate, easy to use, and considering I have no doubt it will outlast me, it was a great value at $299.00. If it doesn’t outlast me, I’ll just return it for a new one. You can’t beat a life time warranty. Was I surprised what a great product it is? I was not surprised at all, like I said, "it's a Vortex product", I didn't expect anything less. THANK YOU VORTEX FOR TOP QUALITY HUNTING OPTICS AND GREAT SERVICE!

Compact and well constructed, this rangefinder is an amazing companion in the field. It’s very easy to use once you read the brief instructions, and you can hit trees and rocks and animals exactly as advertised. The package and delivery were all on point. Solid rangefinder, lifetime warranty withVortex, and the fulfillment company did everything well and as expected.

I just used this rangefinder for the first time and absolutely love it! Actually, love it more than the Leupold one I had. The Vortex rangefinder has really clear glass and the red display is very easy to see in all light conditions, especially in low light when you need it most. And for the money, it is a great buy! I highly recommend this rangefinder to everyone!

This is a good buy so far. Like others have said, it is hard to compete with a lifetime warranty. I shot range until 7:00 PM and it was still working. All the different modes allow you to adjust brightness, units and more. I recommend reading the Manuel as you set it up. Comes with a handy lanyard big enough to wear the rangefinder around the neck. Also comes with a thin soft case. Not the most padded I have ever seen but not enough to drop it a star. I’m in love overall.

Purchased this after the reticle in my Leupold RX-1000i suddenly deteriorated such that more than 50% of it has dead spots making it unusable; and after only 4 years (no more than 25 hours max) of use. Decided I wouldn't be buying that again. I've slowly been transitioning to Vortex because of their quality, which is backed up by their VIP warranty, and have yet to be disappointed. This holds true for this unit too. Compared to the RX, it has better ergonomics, the optics are just as clear (if not clearer), uses the same CR2 battery, and weighs the same (8 oz). This is definitely the best value when considering quality, functionality, performance, and the warranty. Two noteworthy items: ► It only displays range in 1 yard increments (no tenths), but for ballistics one-half yard is "in the noise" anyway. ► It does NOT display the incline angle in HCD (aka TBR) mode -- incline is only provided in the LOS mode. I think this is good supplemental data, and since the algorithm has to know it to calculate TBR, it would be nice if it displayed it; especially since the accuracy of the TBR is limited to a given incline depending on range to target.

Can't seem to range anything beyond 550yds. Nothing to compare to though so not sure. Didn't expect the full range mentioned but expected a little more for sure. Updated 6/10/2016 After 2 weeks vortex ended up shipping me a whole new unit that they tested prior to sending. MUCH better, this is what I was expecting from a rangefinder. Vortex standing behind their products is great to see!

Lives up to the Vortex reputation. Quick and easy range finding in good conditions. Haven't tested in adverse conditions, but works great in enough light. At times it might take a little longer or not pick up an object depending on contrast, but so far has worked very well. It was spot on at a distance I knew to be 100 yards, and have also tested it down to 15-20 yards. Will definitely be taking on the next hunting trip.

If you're looking at this range finder and your thinking I can get the somthing similar for less money, you're probably wrong. VI Vortex offers an outstanding warranty. Also note this range finder has a clip on it. That was the primary reason for my purchase. Yes it is more money than other rangefinder is but I really wanted that clip and the warranty is nothing to ignore. This should be the last rangefinder you will have to purchase. If it breaks send it back, if you lose it that's your fault. Also other useful things to note about this rangefinder. It displays your battery life. It is in illuminated display so in low light you can still see it.

Awesome! I have been on the hunt for a few months for a range finder ..... Doing research as well as going down to my local outdoor shop to handle different ones. I'm so glad a chose to go with the vortex. Easy to use, very rugged feel to it to go along with great optics.
