• 4-string Upright Fretless Electric Bass
  • Stand - Mahogany Oil Burst
  • 5-pc Maple/Walnut Neck

I have some limited experience with E basses over the years and wanted to learn upright techniques. I didnt have space for an acoustic double bass and i also wanted the convenience of portability when visiting friends. This meets all of those needs. It does not sound like an acoustic double bass, its scale length makes it sound more like a fretless E bass but not entirely. The tone is nice enough and it feels good to play. Most importantly, it fulfills the requirements for learning upright technique. The strings are an inch apart, on a radiused fingerboard that allows for bowing. And of course the upright alignment allows for proper arm and hand positioning. The quality is superb and it is a beautiful instrument. Strung with some nylon tapewound strings I get a more low end, mellow tone. I only wish I could buy a ~40” scale version.
