My Bug Gun accuracy just improved 1000%
*** Warning *** Before I begin, laser pointers can cause damage to your vision. Be very careful handling the pointer when turned on, and make sure you have the pointer turned off while you are attaching it and it to your fly shooter and later while you’re making alignment adjustments. My Bug-A-Salt gun just got infinitely more deadly. No more guesswork aiming my toy; just push the button to turn on the laser, put the red dot on the little 8 legged critter, and THWACK … gone. The only down side to this product is that the buyer is left completely on their own without any written instructions on how to install the laser pointer and align the laser beam. To help others get through this, I’ve written the following procedure and attached photos that show each step. Step 1. Place your Bug-A-Salt gun and Laser on a flat, level table in front of you. Step 2. Open the box and layout the contents. You should have (a) The laser pointer and mount; (b) Extended On/Off switch end cap; and (c) plastic bag containing a large and small Allen Wrench, a piece of double sided tape; and three AG13 / 357A / CX44 / LR44W button batteries. Step 3. Open the bag and remove the contents. Use the Large Allen Wrench to loosen the mount holding the laser pointer. Remove the switched end cap from the laser pointer and install the three button batteries with the ”+” side facing towards the open end of the pointer. With the laser end facing away from you screw the switched end cap back on and verify the laser turns on/off when you push the switch repeatedly. My preference is to use the switched end cap. If you want to use the remote switch removed the switched end cap and replace it with the remote switch end cap. Step 4. Mounting the laser pointer. Use the large Allen Wrench to loosen the two screws that hold the two laser mounts. They need to be loosened almost to the point of coming out of the mount to open the two halves wide enough to clamp over the Yellow fore-end of the Bug-A-Salt guns barrel. When you can slip the mount over the yellow barrel, insert the laser pointer so it is located below the barrel. Make sure you have the laser pointer turned so the two small set screws are at a 5 and 7 o’clock position facing downward. Step 5. Place the rear end of the laser pointer flush with the end of the mount. This will give you room to push the on/off switch. With the laser pointer rotated to place the set screws as show and the back end flush with the mount, tighten the mount’s set screws using the large Allen Wrench. Tighten the mount screws tight enough so pushing the on/off switch doesn’t move the pointer inside the mount. Step 6. Align the sights. Take a piece of aluminum foil and using a black Sharpie draw several target dots on the foil at least 4” apart. These will serve as aiming points for aligning the sight. Tape the foil to the back of a wooden chair or other object that you can shoot your bug gun at. Load and cock the gun then aim at one of the target dots with the laser beam. Pull the trigger and notice where the shot pattern hits the aluminum foil. When I installed my laser and fired the first alignment shot, the shot pattern was directly over the black target dot, but about two inches high. Since the two alignment screws on the laser body interact with each other. I turned BOTH set screws ½ turn clockwise using the small Allen Wrench, and fired a shot at a different target dot. This time the pattern was about ½” high, but still directly over the black dot. Another 1/8th turn clockwise on both set screws pulled the shot pattern down directly centered over the third and last target dot. Turning the set screws clockwise pulls the laser dot towards the set screw. Counterclockwise pushes the laser dot away from the set screw. By using a combination of turning each of the set screws clockwise and/or counterclockwise, you can adjust the laser beam up, down, left or right to put it on target.

Surprise, Not a Toy Laser Like the Toy I Bought it For
I bought this for my Bug A-Salt plastic fly-killer toy. I was expecting a laser pointer along that line, plastic and cheap. Imagine the surprise when I opened the box. Wow, it is a real, metal-cased laser sight beam with a metal clamp, tools, and batteries. It makes the cheap plastic Bug A-Salt gun look hilariously awesome! I can't imagine what goes through a fly's tiny brain when its 2 big compound eyes see that big, laser enhanced monstrosity pointing and blinding it at the same time. I'm not an expert on lasers but give this high marks because of its build, extras, and very reasonable price.

I Love this Sight!
This sight is great! I mounted it to both of my Bug-a-Salt guns and sighted them in for about 2.5 feet. I do not have to sight down the gun's open sights anymore. Just place the laser beam on the bug and that's all she wrote. Works great in daylight.

Made Well Works Good
Adds a little bit more fun to an already great toy. Laser is made well and easy to assemble. It does add a little more weight to the front of it, but you get use to it. I still just shoot by pointing, but is very handy for pointing and killing in an awkward position.

Laser Perfect
I feel like a kid again! This thing is great. Rather sweep up spent ammo, than deal with the damage my coonhound does to walls when she finds a fly. Now, can’t wait to find bigger game .... slugs! The laser sight makes this a weapon that could hardly miss.

BE CAREFUL
Hubby couldn't wait to get this from UPS, when it arrived, he couldn't believe how small the bag was...to only realize that I ordered the laser instead of the gun (by accident of course) so he had to wait a few more days before the gun came. Now that we have the complete set, we love it!! Even though it took a couple of days for the flies to come out. We thought they sensed we had purchased the salt gun and were in hiding, lol. It's so fun to see someone's face when he ask me to bring him the fly swatter, and I come out with the laser beam salt gun!!!! PRICELESS!! We are loving it!

Quality, adjustable laser and mount
I ran into a few snags with this product out of the gate but the owner was persistent in his efforts to ensure the company delivered the quality product that was purchased. In the end, I am left with an appreciate for the company’s service and a top notch laser that is exactly what I was looking for.

I could have contacted customer service and they would have walked me through it.
I’m very happy with this product, at first I was wondering how I could adjust the laser as there was no instructions included, but with a little experimenting I was able to figure it out. The customer service is out standing and I would have contacted them for assistance if I hadn’t been able to make the adjustments myself.

Very cool addition
Was surprised at how accurate the laser was when ranged in for the a-salt-gun. Ranged it in around 2.5 to 3 ft which is about the range of the salt gun. Makes a big difference when you just lase the fly/bug and then open fire on them! Very fun!

Nice laser for Bug-A-Salt
Liked the remote trigger feature best. I had another laser that didn't have the push-on trigger and I would frequently forget to turn it off so the batteries were always dead. Got the sight as complete overkill accessory for a Bug-A-Salt fly killer (which I love!). It fit perfectly on the barrel. My use is very short range (2-7 feet) on the Bug-A-Salt. So I can't really address how well it would work on "real" guns, though other than an unknown accuracy at distance (which I can't test), I don't see why it wouldn't work just fine.
