Finally a Reusable Flat-Fit Design
I've spent a small fortune trying to find the right reusable menstrual cup. I've tried the diva, moon, lena, blossom, etc., but none of them fit properly. They were either too long, or didn't stay in place. I finally found the Softcups disposable discs. They have a flat design and fit my cervix without sticking out. However, I still felt it was a waste since you can only use the discs once. I was so excited when I saw that someone finally made a flat-fit menstrual cup. It works just a good as the Softcups. I have to wear a liner, because I do get a little leakage, but it's not more than I did with the Softcup. This one is soft and is the same size as the disposable disc I was using. It also comes with a discreet carrying case. I love it. I've attached a picture so you can compare the discs.

About the period sex claims: What no other review seems to mention!
I have been using Softcup since it was called "Instead" and, much to my dismay, liked it way better than the reusable menstrual cups I had tried. I hated that they were not reusable, knowing that they would just end up as landfill. On top of that, one of the main upsides of menstrual discs is the minimal-mess period sex. (I won't call it mess-free because that was never exactly the case with Softcups.) However, my fiancé often found the hard plastic rim to be pinchy and uncomfortable to navigate around to enjoy that benefit. (Not that it stopped us from doing so anyway. LOL) Many folks have complained about the rim of Ziggy being too soft/flexible making insertion difficult but that was a risk I was willing to take to smooth the ouch factor from our menstrual menageries. I received my Ziggy on day 4 (of, usually, 6) of my period. Exactly what I had hoped would happen so I could try it without worrying about having a massive leakage distaster on my heavy days while I tried out a new cup/disc. To open the hard plastic container, you have to remove the sticker on top of the clamshell packaging and it'll open right up. I boiled it and inserted it that night; not a single drop of leakage yet. (Granted we're on day 6 now, so the odds are slim anyway. I hope to update this next month after I've experienced heavy days with my Ziggy.) And last night, my soon-to-be-husband and I got the opportunity to test out the softer, hopefully pinch-free, rim and... OMG LADIES -- it was spectacular. It could be my imagination but I honestly think it even IMPROVED my sensation, adding just a bit of extra pressure in the right places. I could feel it pressed against the front of my pubic bone, but not nearly unpleasant enough to outweigh the pros. And he said he could barely feel it; no pain at all. As a note to the folks concerned by the complaints about the flexible rim and difficulty with insertion, bearing down while slowly inserting the Ziggy helps a lot. And DON'T be afraid to mash the rim up and behind your pubic bone. Due to the slightly oblong shape, it did take a bit more finagling to fit it back there, but as long as it isn't folded in on itself, it seems to create a perfectly solid seal and I don't even notice it's there! I am SO happy with this purchase. Taking a chance on a menstrual cup/disc that's as new to the market as this one is scary, but it was so worth the leap in faith in my opinion! Yay for eco-friendly period protection and pain-free, mess-free period sex! EDIT: As far as my heavy day 2 and 3, I still find I need to empty it every 1 - 1.5 hours just like I did the Softcup. And sex on those days is no less messy than Softcup. That said, even with it not necessarily being "better" than Softcup in day-to-day functionality, it STILL is a reusable product that isn't adding to landfills so I'm still a huge fan and very happy with my purchase!

Best cup I've ever tried!
I was all but ready to give up on menstrual cups after trying multiple cups over the course of 2+ years. Problem was, I have a "dangly cervix" (my cervix sits inside the cup and takes up room, lowering the capacity significantly) and am very sensitive to stiff cups due to endometriosis. I would start leaking after 1-2 hours on heavy days, and releasing the suction was a b**** (so much so that I even dislodged my IUD once). Then the Ziggy Cup changed my life. Pros: Dangly cervix? No problem. Sensitive urethra, pelvic floor muscles, etc...? All good. :) (I actually forgot I was on my period with this cup). Heavy, gushy, clotty flow? No worries, this thing has a 76ml capacity! I was able to be out in public, away from a bathroom for longer than an hour on my heavy day! w00t! Speaking of heavy flow, I no longer had to wear a liner to capture the blood that got on my vaginal walls (and was thus not contained in the cup) between dumping and replacing it which was AMAZING. My fingers also stayed cleaner during reinsertion which was nice for use in public bathrooms. Period sex! The case seems more compact and discreet than for other cups I've had (even though it's bright pink). A couple of notes: I'd used SoftCups in the past and liked them, but not as much as I love this cup. There was a bit of a learning curve for insertion and sealing it, but I learned that using lube and making a scooping motion (like dipping a chip into my vagina...) during insertion would get my cervix inside the cup every time, and it was super easy to tuck it behind the pubic bone. Bearing down for a bowel movement can affect the seal, so make sure to check it/retuck it after a BM if necessary. Cons: It's harder to measure your flow as opposed to with other menstrual cups since some of the blood comes out during removal. The higher capacity also means the toilet might look like even more of a murder scene than usual (which is hardly a con...) All in all, this was a total game changer for me, and I'm absolutely in love with this cup!

I've been waiting for this for so long!
I have always loved the Instead Softcups, (I believe now SoftDisc). It was actually the first cup I ever saw and used; I think I found it at Wal-Mart (that was back in 2005, so pardon me if the "where" is off). I loved those cups dearly, but they were pretty expensive, and I really disliked the disposable aspect... not to mention that they were periodically hard to find over the years due to all of the changes the brand has gone through. Those factors sent me on a years-long quest for my "holy grail" menstrual cup. I don't know what exactly it is about menstrual cups and / or my body, but I just don't have luck with the cup-shaped ones that sit in the vaginal canal. I've been trying with them (different shapes and levels of firmness) for 13 years and I just never found "the one." I have watched tons of tutorials and tried all the folds - it was just not happening. Sadly, I have a small collection of all of these beautiful cups that I just can't use. Needless to say, I've been waiting for a reusable flat-fit cup for a very long time. The moment I found out about this cup, I made the purchase. I have zero regrets. I love the little carrying case. Even though my period is pretty regular, I keep this cup in my purse because I know the cup will be protected. Most other cups come without protection, or with just a flimsy cloth bag to keep it in. I never felt super great about tossing that into my purse or backpack, but the silicon sleeve that holds the Ziggy cup is actually pretty thick, so I don't worry about damage to the cup at all. Of course I love that this cup is reusable. I loathe tampons with a flaming passion, so I've been wearing pads or Instead cups for all of these years. I know that I wasn't supposed to do it, but it just felt like such a waste to throw an Instead cup away after one use that I would wash it and re-use it for a whole cycle. I am all about doing what is best for the Earth and I re-use and recycle everything I can, so I'm beyond thrilled that the Ziggy cup is reusable! Cost is a big deal for me, as well. I was a single parent for a very long time. Now I'm married, but I'm a full-time student and my husband is supporting all of us on one income. Things are better, but we still have to be careful with our money. There were times in my life that having to purchase period products was a strain and even though that is not necessarily the case now, I really appreciate that the cost of one cup is equal to a few months worth of other period products. Since the cup lasts for two years, it pays for itself within a few cycles. And finally, perhaps the biggest perk of all - IT IS COMFORTABLE. I put it in and forget about my period all day. I don't know if it's just me or what, but even if my period isn't being a hellish nightmare, wearing a pad is just a constant reminder that it's happening. Wearing a cup is such a game-changer. I am so happy that a reusable flat-fit cup finally exists. I can't say that I'd never try another one if it came out because that has kind of become a thing I do over the years, but I do love this cup and am so relieved that the search is over! One more thing: My daughter has tried a couple of other cups as well, with no luck. I had an Instead here and let her try that and she did much better with it, too. So we ordered her a Ziggy right away and she loves it. I highly recommend this cup, especially if you aren't able to wear the cup-shaped products. A flat fit might be better for you, so it's definitely worth a shot!

The period sex review!
Guys, this thing is amazing! To be completely honest, I bought this mainly for the mess-free period sex and it did not disappoint. It arrived a couple days after I ordered and, yes, the packaging is annoying, but it's worth it! I tried to work this thing our before I was on my period as some trial and error but it was difficult to test because there was no leakage no matter what. The next time I tried was on my period. There is some definitely trial and error and a steep learning curve, but DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. I am an avid menstrual cup user and that did not help me in this situation. The ziggy cup sits in a different place than your average diva or lily cup. I followed the instructions and could not feel the cup, but somehow I was still having leakage. I gave it a few days of practice and eventually found an insertion method that works for me! It helps to start learning how to use it by inserting it while laying down. Finally got to test the cup with my boyfriend and I can't believe it! There were NO LEAKS. Not a single one, and I had been wearing the cup all day so it had some blood in it for sure. My boyfriend was really getting into it too so it was no vanilla - sex and still help up to the challenge. I asked him if he could feel it and he said that he felt that there was something there at the start, but it was comfortable and he eventually forgot it was there. If you are buying this thing for mess-free period sex, go for it!

Like the Hoover Dam, but in a good way, and for your cervix, not the Colorado River
As a long-time menstrual cup user I was dismayed when my gynecologist told me not to wear my Diva Cup 1 with my copper IUD, so I was excited to find this alternative. After trying it for one cycle, I would recommend it. Selling points: * Does seem to reduce uterine cramping compared to a traditional reusable cup * I find it comfortable to wear; can't feel it at all once it's in; it stayed perfectly in place for me * Reusable (unlike Flex) * Easy to clean, able to sterilize by boiling * Easy to insert after some initial trial and error; soft and flexible material makes it comfortable to insert and remove * I didn't have any leaks, although I didn't do much strenuous activity. Some reviewers said to insert it sideways (i.e. pinching the short sides together, as recommended in this review: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R2SBAGZKK99IOV/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B079JYJBF2) to avoid leaks but I couldn't even get it in that way, so it seems to depend on your shape as to how you should wear it * In fact, having no leaks made this disc better than my Diva Cup 1, which does leak sometimes for me * I didn't feel it create any suction when inserting, wearing, or removing, which is great news because it should alleviate the risk of dislodging my IUD (as e.g. the Diva Cup would, according to my gynecologist). My IUD strings are short; I'm not sure if longer ones would be a problem with this disc * The material of the cup itself and the carrying case are wonderfully soft, but also feel resilient like they will last for a long time Considerations: * On heavy flow days, emptying the cup is (as other users have said) a TOTAL BLOODBATH. For me, so much blood pooled up behind the disc that it EXPLODED out as soon as I broke the seal! This is fine to do in the shower, or maybe a private bathroom, but would be extremely awkward in public. But this Hoover Dam of a disc was able to keep back the flood all day on even my heaviest days with nary a leak, so I was able to wait until I got home to deal with emptying it * On lighter flow days I was still unable to avoid spilling some blood during emptying (it can't be pulled out perfectly horizontally like a drawer) but it didn't make a mess and was manageable in public bathrooms. Still, no leaks made me a happy camper. * I struggled to open the package, but https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1REBI7NNNUOHQ/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B079JYJBF2 helpfully shows a much easier way * I think the rim pushed on the bottom part of my bladder or the internal part of my urethra, which caused me to pee much more slowly than usual. Kind of a weird feeling, but nothing that would dissuade me from using it * If you're uncomfortable navigating your vagina you may have a hard time pushing the rim into place behind your pubic bone Caveats of this review: * All bodies are different * I have only worn this for the bleeding days on one cycle so far. I'll try to update if I learn anything new during future cycles * If it matters, I'm 33 and have never been pregnant or given birth Takeaway: I recommend for anyone who is willing and able to mitigate a potential crime scene on their heaviest days, who is very comfortable navigating their vagina, and who can risk spending $40 on a product that could potentially not fit

Like a softcup but better
This cup is amazing and it's exactly what I was hoping for when I got it. I use the softcup regularly and I also have a ruby cup which has the more traditional design. I usually prefer the softcup because it has more capacity, it still fits comfortably even when my cervix drops very low and there's the fantastic convenience that I can empty the cup without taking it out. I'm pleased to say that the ziggy cup has these same advantages, but it's better. It's more comfortable: I can feel the ring of the softcup, but I can't feel the ziggy at all. It's sturdier than I expected and I do believe with proper care it'll last way longer than 2 years. I have pretty strong muscles and sometimes I can dislodge a cup (either Ruby or softcup) when exercising, but the double rim on this cup keeps it very nicely in place. The rim is indeed bulkier than that of a softcup so it can be a little harder to put it in. I was particularly worried about the different rim and how it would affect my ability to empty the cup without removing it, but it works perfectly just like softcup. For anyone unfamiliar with this kind of cup, you can sit on the toilet and gently contract your pelvic muscles which pushes the front of the cup down and empties it into the toilet. When you relax again, it naturally moves back into place. No mess, no need to take it out, no need to wash anything. Perfect for public restrooms! If anyone was looking for a good alternative to the softcup, I 100% recommend trying this one.

Great for Surfing!
For the past ten years I have used hormone IUD’s for contraception and had very light to zero periods during that time. Recently I decided to take a break from the hormone IUD and go back to having a regular period but I didn’t take into account having a heavier period during my surf sessions. I tried using a menstrual cup during one surf session but because the cup sits so low in my vagina and due to the nature of wipeouts and being a woman (water getting in my vagina) the menstrual cup filled with ocean water. After doing some research I found that other women had success using menstrual discs during water sports activities, but I didn’t want to use a disposable plastic disc because I see enough plastic floating in the ocean and did not want to contribute to the problem. I was excited to find the Ziggy disc as it is reusable and it seemed like the perfect thing to try for surfing on my period. I recently used the Ziggy disc with a heavy flow for the first time during a surf session. The disc has a snug fit way up inside my vagina, far away from the ocean. I had one small wipeout during my trial session so there was opportunity for ocean water to invade the progress of the Ziggy and as I was hoping, no water filled the Ziggy disc. When I got out of the ocean no pink water ran down my leg, the disc kept the menstrual blood in and the ocean water out. I was stoked! Also, I have a retroverted uterus and I haven’t noticed any problems with the Ziggy disc as a result of this. I did see in other reviews that some women had trouble getting the Ziggy disc positioned behind their pubic bone, and I could see what they meant initially, but with a little patience I was able to find the right position for the Ziggy disc in my body. My biggest complaint about this product is the excessive packaging. This company went WAY overboard with a huge plastic box for a tiny silicone disc. The package defeats the purpose of this product being reusable. Also, a tip for opening this ridiculously large package is to slice the top of the plastic box and the bottom of the plastic box, then open it like a book (I actually had to find this out on YouTube).

Game changer
I swim daily and move alot and havent had any issues. I love this cup. I started with flex and really loved it but hated the disposable plastic as I work in sea rescue I try to keep plastic at a minimum. This is amazing. I've also had sex, and I mean eh hem, banging for a good while, and to my surprise there wasnt a mess! (And on a heavy day) *** Some tips *** So your finger will get a little bloody getting this out, but hey it's your body calm down and wash your hands after. *After going pee it does leak some but thats actually good bc it emptys a little so just be mindful of that, wipe extra, and make sure that it's back in place before getting up for no leaking. *at work I have had to empty it and put it back in. I was mortified of this happening, but after laziness and bad timing eventually I did and it wasnt that big a deal honestly but you can avoid this by waking up on time lol *when I first started using disks, I ONLY took it out in the shower bc I was so intimidated about the mess. By doing do I kinda got the technique down I guess and now I really dont make a mess. *if I know I'm gonna have sex I do make an effort to know that it's mostly empty and I've wiped any left over haha but I have had surprise sex and other then just a hint there wasnt anything major, sheets survived you know lol.

Works just like the Softcup.
I prefer this disc over pads, tampons and cups. Easy to use. Saves money. Pays for itself in a few months. Less waste. Can be worn longer than a tampon. More comfortable to insert than Softcup. Yes, it’s messy. Always remove and clean at home in the shower or over the toilet with TP in hand. Doing it in a public bathroom could be a disaster if you know what I mean. If you need to empty it when it’s full and you’re not at home, just go to the bathroom like normal. Mine always empties on its own if it’s too full when I’m sitting down using the toilet. Give this a try.
