Update: Today is 1/13/16 and have been using this now during several high-wind days with heavy rains. The products has performed well. I think I forgot to mention that the handle isn't as tall as other umbrellas. When fully extended it remains fairly close to you. This feature is what most likely helps it keep from getting wind caught up under it. Its close enough over you it keeps rain out. I've been in some horrible gusts yesterday and today but through it all this umbrella has survived. I am actually quite impressed. Its become my front seat passenger. Its siting with me at work right now too. I plan on using it if its still raining when I leave. I am changing my 4 star review to 5 stars. Original review is below: I am on the Oregon coast so we get a lot of wind and rain here. I needed an umbrella that would be compact and windproof. This appears to be well made. It hasn't been too windy to test it out to the fullest but from the look and feel it appears sturdy. I love that its a one button operation to open and close. Never seen one function for closing too. My daughter chose the yellow color. It's a nice shade: bright and cheery. I received this umbrella at a promotional price to test out and review. Will update if it breaks or withstands the high winds and heavy rain here. 3/3/2016 UPDATE: So yesterday we had a high wind warning with gusts up to 40 MPH (I swear that part of the forecast was an understatement) and lots of rain. It was miserable. I have to walk a ways to pick my daughter up from school so I took the umbrella with me as I left my car. I did have it turn inside out a few times on my way to and from the school but it never actually broke. I just turned away from the wind and let the wind actually flip the umbrella back downward. This wind never technically broke the umbrella and I did get wet in those few brief moments of fixing the umbrella but I was the ONLY person foolish enough to actually have an umbrella in those high winds we had yesterday. I wouldn't have let my daughter hold it for sure... the wind was strong enough to sweep her away. So my thoughts are still positive with this umbrella. It will bend to horrible wind gusts but can rebound from it without the umbrella permanently breaking. Still loving it. Its a good umbrella.

I usually forget to write reviews but as I was standing in the middle of a wind and rain storm with my EEZ-Y umbrella, I realized I must write a review for this! I was standing at a bus stop and the wind was so strong that I saw at least 5 umbrellas flip upside down....but me? I stayed nice and dry! This umbrella is really sturdy in the wind. The flaps allow the air to go through (when there's a strong windgust it'll like flutter and that's the wind going through I think). Only thing is, when closing the umbrella (not to fold it but to push it in) it takes some strength (I usually just push it against something which works well) Anyways, 5 stars highly recommend!

I have only had my umbrella for a few days, but so far it works great! I travel quite a bit and am on the road more than 50% of the time. Because I travel so much a very compact umbrella is important to me. The EEZ-Y is lightweight and compact. It fits in my backpack, or my suitcase, without taking up too much room. A golf umbrella is really good for providing a large footprint and keeping the rain off of you, but they aren't exactly small and don't pack well. The footprint of the EEZ-Y is significantly smaller comparatively, but it's perfect for walking the crowded streets of NYC when it's raining without hitting all of the other umbrellas on the sidewalk. You might be able to squeeze two people under it as long as you both don't mind getting a little wet, and you really like each other. Otherwise, for me, it's just about perfect. I read several reviews where people complained that they could only get a few fingers on the handle. It is definitely a small, nubby handle. If you have big hands, you won't be able to get more than two or three fingers on it. I have fairly normal-sized hands and I can grip it with my thumb and three fingers no problem. The grip is also rubbery and provides plenty of leverage and grip to stabilize the umbrella. However, if you want a larger grip you may want to look at a different sized umbrella. Again, I was going for something that is compact. The one-touch button for opening and closing the umbrella works just fine. Keep in mind that when you close the umbrella that it doesn't fold all the way back down. The button will close the canopy, and then you must manually collapse the umbrella. This is under tension, but unless you have problems with arthritis or some other physical disability this shouldn't be an issue. You could even push it into the floor if it was too difficult, but I don't find it to be an issue. I also have been amazed at EEZ-Y’s customer service! When I registered my umbrella I made a note that I thought the color was a bit off, and that the grey looked a bit too green. EEZ-Y promptly arranged to have the umbrella replaced with a different color – without me asking! They have been extremely polite and responsive to emails throughout the process. Top notch customer service! Other than the grey color being slightly off I have yet to find any faults with the construction, materials, or operation of the umbrella. So far, I am really enjoying the umbrella and the service offered by EEZ-Y. I would definitely recommend this to someone!

I bought this over a year ago and have used it about 6 times. I really like the size and color and especially the double canopy which helps a lot in the wind. HOWEVER, I have finally realized that there is one flaw with this umbrella that made me finally decide to toss it and buy another. It is nearly impossible to CLOSE. Today I could hardly get into my car in a downpour, fighting to close the umbrella so I could get in out of the rain. I had to get out, manually fold it shut, getting drenched in the process, and even then I was unable to get the handle to telescope. This has happened multiple times - why did it take me so long to give it up?! This is an addendum. After I wrote this review, the company, EEZ-Y Umbrella, obviously saw the review and, completely unsolicited, sent me a replacement umbrella. It is a different version, a lovely 58" golf umbrella and upon receiving it, I find no difficulty in opening or closing it. What a company! I can't rate the old umbrella higher but give great kudos to the company any my new replacement. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

OMG, this umbrella is incredible! It's sooo solid and sturdy. The auto pop up works perfectly and the double canopy is awesome! I never had a double canopy before but I'm so glad I got this one. I've bought 2 other junky umbrellas at local stores recently (with zero success) and I'm so happy to have found a solid umbrella with the EEZ-Y! Third times a charm!

I haven't used this in the rain yet.. But I can assume it's going to do what all umbrellas do. It's a big enough size that two people can fit under it, but not too big as to be awkward on a sidewalk. We got the Marsala (burgundy) color. It's a nice deep hue. What I particularly like is the cocking mechanism. The final closing "push" might be a little tough for wimps. What it does is loads up the spring for a nice quick opening and closing action. Great for when getting into and out of your car when speed is appreciated. Folds up to a fairly small size for car storage. PS... for size perspective in picture, please note that I am 6'1" and 260lbs.

I like the strong open mechanism on the umbrella and the fact that the canopy is vented (you're still advised to point the umbrella into the wind). The umbrella is easy to carry, despite being made of heavier gauge material than the cheap umbrellas I'm used to The handle on the umbrella is oval, rather than round, and this seems to allow it to fit your palm better. The whole thing, from canopy to handle, seems made of quality material. The umbrella does sort of close at the push of a button, but only the canopy. You still have to push the shaft closed. The only negative I've found is that you have to close the umbrella all the way to reopen it. You can't push the button, have the canopy close and then push it again to open the canopy. You have to telescope the shaft shut first. I guess there's not much alternative to this, since it's the force of the shaft springing out that opens the canopy. But's that's a minor nit I'm picking. I like this umbrella and would recommend it to a friend.

Rain protection at last! I travel a lot for business and I always carry an umbrella with me. After multiple bad choices, I think I finally found the perfect travel companion! This week I was in St. Louis when I was caught in a huge storm which was perfect to put my new umbrella to the test. Unlike the traditional ones that can easily flip on strong wind, this umbrella has a double canopy which really solved the issue. I walked 5 full blocks under crazy rain and wind and the umbrella held its shape giving me great protection. The bonus? It also has an auto open/close button that makes it very easy to operate. I would love to be able to post an image of me using my new good looking umbrella, but that proved very difficult. Instead, I have a radar image of the storm in question. :) I hope this is helpful and I think you will like the product. Full Disclosure: I received this product for free/discounted and this is my honest and unvarnished review. In no way, am I obligated to provide a positive feedback. These are my candid observations and I hope you find it useful. If you think my review was helpful please hit the yes button. Thank you.

So far I love this umbrella it fits in my lunch bag and purses easily. It opens and closes quickly and since I walk the a cane not having to fight to get my umbrella opened is a plus. It large enough to cover me and my bags so thumbs up for the product.

Pretty much everyone at some point or another is going to buy an umbrella. But why settle for a cheap umbrella that you use once, complain about and absolutely hate, only to throw it out and buy a new one next time it rains? This umbrella is the only umbrella you’ll ever need. It is so simple to open, just click a button and the whole thing comes ready to use. It’s sturdy to help combat the wind from blowing it open. The handle is also nice and firm. When you’re done, just click the button again to close the canopy and slide it back into place. My favorite thing about this umbrella is that you click an actual button on the handle to open and close. Others have those awful levers to hold down so that the umbrella can slide up and down. I have gotten my fingers pinched in them far too many times to count. It completely turned me off from umbrellas and I stopped using them all together- until now.
