Perfect for cat litter

I was tired of wasting endless amount of money on Genie refills. I have 3 cats and they get very cranky if their litter isn't cleaned up regularly (like most cats! lol) I was going through 1 refill of litter genie probably every week. Now, I keep this little garbage can, and use glade febreze small trash bags. Definitely saving money and the cats are happy :)

Perfect bathroom trash can

My husband and I finally closed on our new house and needed a little trash can for our spare bathroom. I’m not a fan of cheap, vinyl trash cans. Plus, we have a dog so lids on trash cans is a must. I wanted it small but large enough to hold a weeks worth of trash even though that bathroom would rarely get used. I checked a few big box stores but still always came back to the simple human one. I purchased it and have been as thrilled as you can be about a trash can. My only complaint is that any diet, watermarks, or fingerprints show. It’s stainless steel though so that’s pretty typical. I make sure to use pledge to polish it every week and it looks spiffy. It takes special liners but I keep the one pack on my subscribe and save so we always have them on hand.

does what I want

I just ordered another because this does exactly what I want for a decent price plus it comes with 3 trash liners. I keep this by my cats litter box for the stinky poo and it works perfectly. I ordered another for my back bathroom. I have a septic tank and if u throw feminine products down my toilet it will clog. I will have one of these in the stall for that purpose. I host all the holiday dinners and the gals will know what to do or they can write me a check on the way out for the plumber! lol..

2 gallon trash cans and they're great. They hold more than it looks like

I have 4 of the simplehuman 1.2 gallon trash cans and they're great. They hold more than it looks like, but they are still small and out-of-the-way. I have 3 in my bathrooms, and 1 in my laundry room - have them in white, black, silver and bronze. The bronze did have a little of the color chip on the lid, though.

Convenient for limited spaces and keeps my dog out!

I got this primarily because of its function of being able to open the unit with the foot pedal. My dog always tipped over my other small trash can, which did not have a lid. Now, all my trash stays where it belongs, in the trash can! What's nice is that you get I think 3 perfectly sized trash bags to use for this unit. I suppose you could use the grocery store plactic bags, but the ones made for this waste bin are measured to fit snug and there is a drawstring, which makes cleanup and removal a simple affair. I intend to keep the plastic of this waste bin clean. It's removable, so if it does get dirty, you can clean it easily. The stainless steel finish is also quite stylish. The stainless steel is fingerprint proof and I think that's true. I don't see my fingerprints on it when I touch it, but I also don't have greasy fingers. The foot pedal works flawlessly. I'm very satisfied with this unit. The lid closes when you release the pedal and if you want, you can still use your hand to open and close the lid. This item was a great buy for the price.

Works well, one complaint

We purchased the 6L simplehuman for the bathroom in our home and it works well - the 6L is the perfect size in my opinion. As far as material quality I rated it 5 starts - our trash can has held up well thus far and has no dings or dents as some other reviewers mentioned receiving theirs dented. The trash can is easy to clean - I typically wipe it down with water or glass cleaner which leaves it clean with no spots or streaks. The color is quite brown but the bronze sheen comes through in direct light. The trash can is not soft-close but with a bag in it isn’t too loud - doesn’t bother us any. The one thing I’d change about this trash can is that you can see the bags - regardless if you use their brand or not - between the lid and the can. Otherwise, we have been pleased with this product.

Highly Recommend - Trash Can with Internal Bucket and Liners

These are awesome little trash cans, perfect for a bathroom. This is my second one. They are made very well and come with a 10 year warranty. I bought the white one which has a hard baked-on finish that cleans very easily. The step opens the lid very smoothly and easily. Inside there's a removable plastic bucket that makes emptying a breeze. And the internal bucket can be easily washed out when needed. Added bonus: It comes with three 'perfectly-sized' disposable liners which I see now are also available on Amazon .. 60 A-sized liners for about $14. I highly recommend this trash can!

Very Attractive Trashcan Which Solved A Very Annoying Problem

Really attractive little trashcan. Nice quality, lovely deep rich color. It's best feature? The lid keeps our naughty dog from foraging through the bathroom trash and bringing us his favorite finds as gifts while we sit on the couch. With guests.

I Love These Step-Ons (with only a minor fix)~!!

I'd been shopping for step-on waste baskets because I needed firmly closing lids, due to my dogs' fascination with the contents from ordinary waste baskets without lids. I found these simplehuman 1.2 gallon compact step ons with lids at a great price, so I then read the reviews to see if they were worth the price. Nearly all of the reviewers were very pleased with them, however, many complained of them tipping over too easily because they were so light weight. Since they obviously needed more weight and balance in the bottoms of the cans, I set out to find the perfect fix. Having searched at home for anything that would work and finding nothing, I then thought about placing magnets or something similar under the plastic can liner, having a small diameter and weight, and whatever it was had to be thin enough or the lid would not close properly. Finding that fix was no easy task! Finally, barbell weights came to mind, the smaller light weight type, and voila~!! I found it! The "fix" that works for me is a Weider 2.5 lb. Workout Weight Hammertone Plate that fits the round bottom of the can perfectly, and is thin enough to not disrupt the mechanism of the lid opening and closing. They were on Ebay for $3 each, and I got one for each of the simplehuman step ons for each of our bathrooms. The weights were a perfect fit in every way, and not once has either can tipped over or even moved! The lids open and close properly every time. I'm extremely pleased with these step ons, and have zero complaints. I no longer have to kindly remind our guests to PLEASE close the bathroom door when exiting, and best of all, I've had to clean up zero disgusting shredded trash everywhere, and the doors now remain open ~ unless occupied, of course! ❤️😊
