As fun as you remember. For you, that is.

Who remembers buying these planes at the drug store and then taking them home to see how far you could get them to glide? I do. And I was a champ at figuring out which way to tweak the wings so that the planes would travel far, rather than doing loop-dee-loops or stalling out or whatnot. On nice summer days, this could keep me busy for hours, until something broke and I'd either have to get a new plane or figure out how to fix the broken part with whatever balsa wood scraps were left over from the kit. This kept my kids entertained for precisely five minutes. To give you an idea why, let's just say that my boys like to keep their iPads close in order to address that period of boredom that exists between games of Fortnite. So yeah, screw the kids. They don't know what's good for them. After they were done wrecking the planes I built for them and stomping off to find the next thing that can conquer their boredom for a handful of minutes, I thoroughly enjoyed my own stroll down memory lane. Remember to move the wings back, as that's key to a long, level flight across the yard. With Independence Day coming up in the U.S., you might feel tempted to tie on a bottle rocket. Please check your local ordinances before doing so.
