First of all, this is a cool little toy. I think what makes this kit great is the little led lights that come with batteries ready to go out of the box, combined with some great little "shadow" puppets that can be easily put together and used. My kids had this opened and were making little plays in about 4 minutes. This made it easy to use and then to expand with more "complex" puppets. it is all paper, so it isn't terribly robust, but it folds up easily and can be taped up as needed :)

This kit was so much fun! My kids and I had fun punching out the premade shapes for making the shadow puppets, and quickly putting together the little stage that came with the lights, so that you can make an actual puppet show. My kids love telling long and involved stories with seemingly no end, and this suited their play style perfectly. They had a lot of fun telling each other what the characters should do and while they appreciated an audience for some of it, they were also okay with just doing their own show without an audience also. My kids are only 3 1/2 and 5 1/2, so I helped them put everything together and get things set up, and facilitated a little bit of early storytelling so that they would have a general framework of what people might generally do with a puppet show. They had seen an episode of Shaun the sheep with a similar puppet show arranged by Timmy, so their imaginations were engaged by that. Overall this is a fun kit for kids, and probably those ages six to 8 would be able to set it up by themselves.

My son immediately told me,”mom, I don’t do puppets”. I told him ok and started putting things together myself and he was asking questions. Turns out, he loves the shadow puppets. He did a whole show for me and dad. It comes with only two shadow people - the rest are animals.. that was a little bit of a bummer but you do only have two hands. It is simple to put together and has nice, easy to follow instructions. You can decorate the stage however you want, the lights for the show and assembled and you can adds different hats, hair, legs or even a mermaid tail. There are lots of options. My son has had a blast with this product. Me and dad have had lots of laughs watching his puppet shows. Great product-

I have been doing shadow puppets with my son since he was a young toddler... It was my trick to get him into bed where I could calm him down so he would get to sleep. When we received this, he loved it immediately. He did an entire show us. It comes with a bunch of animals and he loved. What I love most about this- my son is 5 and speech delayed. This activity encourages him to speak and role play. Additionally, you can teach your child about how light travels and the science behind light while encouraging creativity and social interaction.

This was perfect to have for a rainy day when the kids had been cooped up inside for a couple days and needed something fun and new. They were very excited to get it, they put it together on their own easily, and then spent the better part of the day coming up with little plays using the shadow puppets. My daughter plans to put on a show at Thanksgiving, so I am sure that will be super cute. I like how I did not have to do anything at all, which lead them with a very confident feeling about their capabilities. It was fun to listen to them chatter on while working on it. It was worth hanging on to for a day like today!

I love this set! I have always loved shadow puppets and toy theaters so when I saw an opportunity to be able to create one with my son with this set, I jumped at the chance. Anyone who has built a toy theater knows how complicated they can be. This set takes that concept down to the child's level so that they can create their own. That being said, it's still good to have mom or dad's help while building the theater and putting the puppets together. The instructions are easy to read and understand and even have tips like suggesting a parent's or adult's help would be good for certain parts. For example, I assisted my son with popping out the characters and accessories from the forms because, while a child CAN do it on their own, if you are too rough with them they will bend. It's a small thing but I appreciated that in the instructions there is a diagram that labels the figures' accessories (see photo). For example, it may seem obvious when looking at the Peter Pan style hat on the page that it's a hat but when you're looking at it upside down and sideways in your hand, it can be confusing trying to figure out what it is. On that note, the accessories for the figures are very cute and include things like mermaid tails, a wizard hat, and wings. There is also a form with all kinds of animals. Heads up, parents: it's good to help out with putting the brads into the figures. They are VERY small and difficult for little hands to maneuver without too much frustration (see photo). The theater itself is easy to set up. The sides Velcro together for easy construction and then dismantling for storage and reuse later on. The top portion of the theater has an area that can be written on in chalk and wiped away when done (one piece of chalk is included in the set). I do recommend placing the two front pieces of the top portion in first and then the sides - that part is a little tricky. When dismantling, do the reverse - sides then front. The lights are easy to set up. It's just important to keep in mind placement for them. We actually ended up liking just using one light at once to reduce the doubled look of having two light sources pointed at one figure (see photos for comparison). If you use two lights make sure to point them towards the exact same spot on the screen. This is a wonderful little set that fosters great imaginative play and is well worth the price!

This is a really fun craft. If you ever wanted to build a puppet show, then this is a easy kit to put together and begin your play. The kids really like to use it and we have come up with out own characters and cut them out. It's fun to write scripts for them. I actually wish it was larger so we make an even bigger "stage".

My 5 yr old LOVES this puppets theater game. For $20 (price at the time of this review), this game is a huge value. He started out doing puppet shows for us with the stage and lights, included in the game, but has since progressed to using the characters all over the house to act out various stories. We see them peeking around doorways and furniture. It's been huge creative fun for him and his big brother (7 yrs). For this price, I have no complaints. Really, this could be $40 and I would still be overjoyed with it. I don't gush about products very often, but this toy is inspiring a lot of creative play. If I was going to suggest any improvement, it would be to add a couple more people characters as 2 isn't enough. Some kid figures to go with the adult figures would be great, and less animals. This would be a fantastic birthday or Christmas gift for kids (boys or girls) who like roleplaying, storytelling, etc. My five yr old even has his stuffed animals in on the game. Thanks for reading, I hope this review is helpful!

My daughter really likes this puppet theater set. It's simple but cleverly designed and provides a unique creative experience for kids. Comes with plenty of cut outs to inspire fun stories for theater play. The lighting and shadow effect are really cool and work well even in well-lit environments. All in all a fun kit for encouraging creative play. Love it!

This is a fantastic puppet theater. It is so cute! My kids loved giving little shows. It is such a unique product. This is a very fun toy. They played with it for a while, and had a lot of fun. We have many toys from this company. They make a lot of different products and we have generally been very happy with them. It worked well. This toy was durable. My kids can be a little rough with toys, but this continued to work just fine. We had no problems I feel like this is good for child development. It kept my children's interest. It would also make a nice gift. I would recommend it.
