Works exactly as described. I use it on shoes, baseball caps, a windbreaker and the like. It works as advertised and expected. Make SURE to color test your item. You have to really wet the item with the spray in order for it to work effectively and multiple coatings work better, depending on the item and exposure to water. If you have something that is going to be heavily wet, use the heavy duty version. This is not for something like a tent or rainfly. It did take a while to ship, but was within the quoted time frame. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and will purchase again when the need arises again. I paid full price, no incentives for reviews.

Thankfully, we have had no spills yet on our light colored dining room chairs. We sprayed them with Scotchguard and once they dried put some water on top to see what happened. There was definitely a barrier as the water stayed beaded up. Note: the fumes are intense, so I recommend spraying the product outdoors and bringing in the furniture when it dries.

I bought a white couch. I really wanted a white couch. I swore I would never eat on my white couch. I lied to myself. I spilled bright red/orange Chicken Vindaloo on my white couch. Luckily I sprayed my white couch with this stuff twice before I did that. Blotted with some water and it came right out.

I got this for my pillows. Having a 4 and 7 year old who are constantly making messes in the living room, I was a bit fed up with replacing my pillows due to stains. The spraying was easy and quick, then I left them outside to air out. Today I noticed a big splatter of dried up ketchup on the pillow. I took a wet paper towel and rubbed off the stain. It came off completely! Nothing seeped through the fabric. I just wish I used this sooner!

My husband and I just bought our first new couch ever and don’t want to have anything happen to it so I read about this Scotchguard stuff, so like another reviewer said I based my purchase because of the wonderful reviews and by the way when you review something, the review should reflect how the product works NOT if it was delivered on time or if you didn’t get enough for you furniture. It’s not fair or right to give it a 4 star when it did it’s job but the company you ordered it from didn’t get there on time, that should be a review entirely separate to the company. The product is what you reviewed. Ok back to review. We just got our can of Scotchguard today and my husband sprayed the couch he said that when you spray, the pattern that comes out is real thick instead of like a regular spray can would spray like a fanning out instead of a solid line. I believe that’s why some people run out quicker because of the way it sprays out and because of the way it sprays out you don’t need 2 or three layers of it you only need the one because it’s so thick already. When my husband got finished with the couch he still had a little bit left and he is very meticulous so he sprayed every inch of the couch. As far as the fumes, you definitely need the ventilation please please make sure there is lots of it and put a mask or anything like a washcloth or T-shirt or bandanna on you face because the fumes are very strong and I will update in a month or so if it works in stains but my mom has scotchgarded furniture and it worked fantastic. Thank you again for all the reviews because they made my decision to buy this stuff. I will update soon.

I had seen this first used on shoes on Pinterest. I figured I would give it a try because I had been told that a lot of the shoe protectants actually turn white shoes yellow. This worked so well! I used it on my cloth Converse and a pair of mesh running shoes and they are still white. It was easy to spray and great instructions. I will continue to buy this and use it on my white shoes. *In the pictures my Converse shoes don't look great because they have been washed several times since they are 3 years old.

Oh Joanna Gaines - you trendsetter with the light colored fabrics that are not toddler proof. I bought linen colored, fabric covered barstools and cringed the first time dirty toddler hands touched them. I realized that's not living, so I needed to protect my barstool investment. Ordered and applied three coats of Scotchguard and now I'm ok with the kids using the barstools. Scotchguard has stood up to their grubby hands and I still have beautiful chairs. Win Win.

Perfect for my new sofa, and about 60 bucks cheaper than the 'coverage' that the retailer's sales lady kept pushing me for. Granted, this can of protectant does not protect against rips or tears in the upholstery, but the 12 year old sofa they carted out of my rec room had neither...

Great stuff. I spay all the outside patio cushions with it. I do it about 4 times on each. Rain beads on the top and I just go out and shake the rain off the cushion and put the cushion back on. I’ve used it on coats, furniture inside especially arm rests and foot rests, shoes clothdinner napkins and table clothes. Blind cords, sofa pillows and etc. oh and front of aprons, blouses and shirts.....
