Great for Seasonal Affective Disorder!

The long New England winters make the Verilux HappyLight a must! Using it for about half an hour each morning while checking my emails and having my morning coffee has made a huge difference in my mood. The lack of sun during this extremely long winter had me feeling down and unmotivated. It’s amazing how bright this small light is and I love that it is portable; very easy to pack and take to the office.

I don't typically write reviews, but this product is worthy of one. I have winter seasonal affective disorder. I have never experienced it before. I just thought SAD was a "fancy medical term" that doctors made up to sell more drugs to people. I always thought that yeah, people get a little sad in the winter. Oh my goodness, winter depression is a REAL thing. It hit me so hard this year. When it comes to medicine, I am against western medicines. I only take them when I can't find another option. I prefer natural ways of fixing things. This light has been a God-Send. I read a lot about light therapy and figured I'd give it a shot. After a few days of use, I had my first full day of not having the overwhelming urge to burst into tears. That was only one day. The few days I was kind of back to "normal"...feeling sad, depressed, withdrawn. I kept with it, though. What I had read online said sometimes it takes a few weeks to notice a difference. For me, that was the case. I have had my light for 4 weeks now, I use it Monday - Friday. I try to remember to use it on the weekends, but I usually don't get the option. It has helped tremendously. It has been over a week since I've cried for no reason and I don't have the overwhelming urge to cry either. I join in conversations with my coworkers, I sit in the living room with my family instead of hiding away in my room, it's easier to get out of bed each morning. People don't constantly ask me "What's wrong?" Anyway, I know a pill would have helped me faster and I would probably feel even better that I do, but, this light is amazing and I much prefer it over some medication that has a billion side effects. It is 100% worth it! Oh, and my apologies for writing so much :)

It WORKS.

I had been reading everywhere about light therapy for seasonal affective disorder and spring felt like it was taking forever to get here, so I decided to pull the trigger on getting the HappyLight Lucent. No regrets. I have used it everyday since I got it and I totally feel the difference!! I don’t feel as rundown, I have slept better and feel way more focused. The light is the only change I’ve made. People have actually asked me why I’m so happy lately!! It’s cool. Wasn’t a sold believer in light therapy before I bought one. 100 percent am a believer now.

This is a GREAT light! I have never had a HappyLight before, and this is really a game changer! I live in NYC where it feels like it is gray all the time, and in the past I have certainly felt the effects. This season I noticed that my energy never lagged and I was still able to hop out of bed even though it was dark. I use it for about 30 minutes per day while eating an early breakfast and it keeps me going all day! I cannot say enough good things about this light. Also it is small enough to be portable which is very convenient, it would fit anywhere in my apartment. Highly recommend!

Must have for seasonal depression

I can’t believe how well this works. I started using it three weeks ago during the change of seasons when I started feeling my depression creep in. I use it 30 min a day in the morning. If I don’t have time, I put it on in the bathroom while I’m getting ready. My depression is gone. I wish I had started using this years ago. Just a heads up it arrived in a brown box from the manufacturer that says “Happy Light” all over it. No amazon box. So if you’re having it delivered somewhere like work it’s not discreet.

Sturdy, sleek, and energizing!

I absolutely LOVE this light! I use it in the morning and I feel energized throughout the day. It has been especially beneficial during this extended cold snap we have had in New England - all the way into May this year. It is the size of a tablet so it is sleek, fits anywhere, and would be great to pack when traveling. The stand is sturdy and can be detached and clipped to the back - another added bonus for packing/storing. I can't recommend this light enough!

I am a believer! The HappyLight works!

I love my HappyLight! It's made such a difference for me! I have it on my desk and use it everyday. I have noticed over the past month, my energy levels are higher, I am more focussed and my sleep patterns have never been this great! I wake up at the same time in the morning (give or take 5-10) which has been a blessing. The size and sleekness is also such a plus and isn't hideous like a lot of other light boxes. I highly recommend this product!

Love my Happy Light!

I decided to get this product once I changed roles at my work and moved to an area of my building with no windows. The lack of natural light was really starting to impact how I felt during the day and my general mood. Right out of the box it is so simple to set up and start using! The light quality is awesome and improved my feeling of well being immediately. I use it for 30 minutes every morning and can't believe the positive comments I get from my co-workers too. My boss said seeing the Happy Light on makes her happy too - lol! Thinking of getting a second one as my husband is always asking me to bring the Happy Light home for him to use. Very happy with my purchase!

Good design!

I just got this HappyLight and the product itself is great. Packaged great, good quality, simple basic design, easy to start using. Stand is just fine. Was unsure which therapy Lamp to chose and I wrote a couple different companies with a question. Verilux thoughtfully responded and answered all my questions while the other company never even responded. So far happy with my purchase.

A HappyLight that Makes Me Truly Happy!

I have owned this product for only a couple of hours, but love it so much I had to write a review right away—the reason? This HappyLight makes me truly happy. In the interest of being honest, I have to admit I'm a Verilux fan and own numerous products from their large HappyLight to a desk lamp to flashlights and I love each and every one. Verilux is one of those companies that never seems to let me down from their packaging, advertising, and design to the actual use of their products and this HappyLight is no exception. It is just the right size (size of an i-pad) easy to assemble without even reading the instructions and boy, does it provide light. If you've never used a HappyLight product before realize that this one is bright, but that is exactly why I wanted it. I'm from New England and winters, falls, and springs, unfortunately, can be cold and dark. This light illuminates my surroundings and on what is presently a gloomy rainy day reminds me that there is light around me. It's making it easy to do my work, write this review and smile at the brightness. The light's design is clean and simple and in many ways reminds me of Apple in its innovation and sleek styling.
