Love this tuner!
All I can say is this tuner works. Combing the HDHomeRun CONNECT DUO with Plex and a Plex Pass creates the best OTA DVR that I have ever had, (and I have had a few over the years). The tuner seems to be very sensitive too. It pulls in several channels that my tvs don't seem to be able to get. I've had it installed for about two weeks and couldn't be happier. I was considering the EXTEND, (with hardware encoding), but opted for this unit instead. I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money because the CONNECT DUO is doing everything I need. I consider the 4-tuner model also but haven't run across a situation where would have benefited yet. I'm running Plex on a good/fast computer and the libraries are on a NAS so your mileage may vary if you are trying to run Plex on a lesser system. I haven't tried the apps that SiliconDust has for tuning/recording since I was already using Plex so, I cannot comment on their quality.

Item small, but gets the job done.
This actual item was sent back for a refund, but I did order another one from them and it works as advertised. PLEX and HDhomeRun software scan and found the channels faster then the 3rd generation HDhomeRun. The 4th Gen and newer only works for recording on SiliconDust Software with paid DVR service. You can use all Gen for PLEX DVR recording, but you also have to pay for a PLEX Pass. They get you coming and going, but it is cheaper than paying for cable channels you don't watch just to get local channels. With 4 tuners you should be good for a normal size family. I have two (2tuner) 3rd Gen plus this now I have 8 tuners to work with. I use the HDhomeRun software to record with and PLEX to watch TV. PLEX currently is having issues with recordings. I keep having transcode error on my recordings (not reliable). I'll keep you updated on PLEX issue if and when it gets fix.

HDHomerun is a grand slam!
HDHomerun is a grand slam! I was blown away by the quality and ease of setup. Pair it with Plex and it's even more amazing. I never knew that antenna TV had so much great shows that I was missing out on because I had cable. I'm thankful that I now get antenna tv on all TV's in my house. The main antenna needs to be in an area where there is great reception. For the other TV's it doesn't matter as long as you have a streaming device that is compatible with HDHomerun or Plex if you end up using Plex.

Excellent Product & Seller *** Warnings about my usage mistakes ***
Delivery was on time, and it works as expected. Recording quality is excellent, and very easy to install. Two unexpected issues, not with the product or it's advertising. I should have checked to see what cable channels were "protected" before purchasing. I expected the premium movie channels, but found out there were others. The second issue was that I am using an obsolete program called "Beyond TV", which is compatible with the over the air HDHomeRun hardware. I assumed the same compatibility, but discovered that it is not. I could have discovered this by searching the user's forum.

Very Impressed! Spot-on Performance in a Small Package
I've always loved the idea of being able to record live TV. This box alone *only* streams. It can NOT record without a 3rd party app. Luckily, software like PLEX or their own make this possible by using your PC's HDD to record your favorite shows and make a live channel pausable. Upon purchasing, the box contained the device, a cat5 cable, the power adapter and the advertised extras (another longer cat5 cable and the velcro straps). The device its self is very light and fits in the palm of my and! Only 3 simple connections required. One to your router, one to power and the last to your cable or antenna. After said, there are NO drivers necessary! Plug & Play if you're already a Plex Pass users such as myself. I highly recommend this item for the fact it does as it advertises and allows up to 4 separate channels to be streamed or recorded at a time. It shows up as a Network Device in windows, but you can't really comfortably use it without 3rd party software. Pros: - Small footprint - Works very well - Two cat5 cables included - Runs cool, very easy setup. Cons: - Needs more blinky-flashy LEDs! (not really a con, just a preference)

Nice 4 tuner receiver
It seems like a nice OTA tuner setup for cord cutters. I still have a while to go on my contract with my sat. tv provider so I am trying to get everything lined up before truly cutting the cord. Make sure you have a very good antenna for the best results. I can get 16 channels thru the tuner with an average antenna, although I get 20+ with it connected to the tv. I think getting a better antenna will help the tuner get more OTA channels

Quatro .. My tv My way.
I was looking for an alternative to TiVo, The Quatro took over the job nicly. I plan to use Plex, but for now Win8.1 Pro does the job, recording with WindowsMediaCenter with full 14 day FREE guide. Setup was fairly easy, although I had to set a shortcut on my desktop for HD Homerun app. HD HmRn app works great on my android devices. Haven't purchased their DVR service for $35.00 a year, but its still cheaper than TiVo's $16.00 monthly guide service. I will purchase a second Quatro to ensure all family members can watch live tv from their devices and still have tuners left to record scheduled programs!! Also having internet is nice for the guide info, but necessary to watch or record, unlike other dvrs...they know who they are..

Wife approved, it's that easy.
This thing is great! Do not underestimate your need for 4 tuners. You can record one thing, watch another, then have another recording start which overlaps the ending of another...you can blow past 2 real quick. I have this paired with my 1byone 75 mile antenna and a Plex pass on my PC. Works perfectly. I don't use the TV Guide so I can't speak to it. I'm instead using the TV Guide from Plex, and it is flawless. Honestly, plug it in, and watch TV, it's that simple.

Great, Simple, and Unobtrusive
What a great little box. Unobtrusive. Simple. Plugged it in, connected to an antenna, used Plex to scan for channels, and I had local TV via Plex and using the HDHomeRun app on all my devices: Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV -- the works. I've only been using this for a few days, but boy, what a great purchase that I highly recommend. A GREAT PRODUCT. ...the only gotcha, which is NOT HDHomeRun's issue, is how much time you may really need to spend selecting and positioning the myriad of antenna choices to get the channels you're looking for. Don't underestimate the antenna part of the equation.

Great device
Gave Verizon fios their set top box and now I'm using this and the picture quality is much better and I'm able to stream live cable around my house and note if you want cable tv with existing service ask them for an "m" cable card and activate it I know for fios it's $4.99 to rent one but it's better than paying $12.99 for one box
