Secure home
I bought this for outside security of my home. I already do own three indoor Netvue products. I do highly recommend this brand as they do have good price products and are easy to install. The tip I would give is to clearly read the setup instructions on how to add the camera to the app. Make sure you do every step listed and you don't have any issues. It has been giving me extra home security, clear pictures, easy to maneuver app, and good notifications. They recently updated their app to do a monthly recurring payment for their monitoring services which is only five dollars a month per device. I do like their monitoring services as it covers the past two weeks and it is easy to review times and notifications. You can pick the area of camera that you want to detect motions and also the times. I already did recommend this brand to another person who was needing home security cameras and they do also agree that it is great! They have indoor and outdoor camera like me and have the same review.

Netvue Continues to Improve and Impress
Recently received and installed my second Netvue 1080P Vigil Bullet Camera. Setup took a quick 5 minutes with no problems whatsoever. This was helped by the fact that I already had the Netvue App and had been through it once before. The hardest part was just deciding on the exact location to place it! I installed this unit 'inside' an unheated garage, so I wasn't drilling through brick or anything drastic, but it installed very quickly and easily. I chose to use the outdoor camera because in my State, the inside of the garage gets the entire range of very hot and very cold temperatures throughout the year. The recently upgraded App is very easy to work with and understand. Video on the Vigil is crystal clear, and you are able to zoom in and verify who, or what, you are looking at. The 2-way communications seems to have improved as well with the updates. Overall I am very happy with this product and the Netvue Company. Update: November 12, 2018 - Still very happy with Netvue Vigil. Improvements made so App are very helpful and easy to use.

My 2 cents worth
Purchased one of these cameras to watch the front porch of our home. We live in a country setting with very little artificial light. Mounted this on garage pointed at front door about 15 feet away. In my opinion the picture quality was way beyond my expectations. I am no expert with this type of equipment and this was my first security cam. That said I would not have expected this clarity of imagery at this price point. Would have assumed you would spend $200-$300 dollars to get a camera this good. Maybe I just didn't realize what quality you could expect in a cam at this price, nice surprise. For me install was straight forward and simple. Drill the template, run the wires through the wall and plug it in, say 45 minutes tops. Setup for cam was quick ans simple. Scan the code, enter wireless password, push wifi button and it linked up with server. I installed 128gb sd card. I am not interested in cloud storage or notifications so I can't comment on how well that works. I bought this to check a live video feed when I want to and the ability to go back and check video in case there was an incident. SD card should hold 2-4 days video as I understand it. As a side note I have LED outside motion lights with night light on all the time. I was amazed that when I turn them off and the cam switches over to night vision there is very little difference in the displayed image. That was probably the most amazing part. I have had no issues with the NETVUE app either. Installed it on 2 Samsung phones and 1 android tablet. Would I recommend? I bought another camera and a NETVUE indoor video camera. Installed both today and could not be happier with all 3 cams. Will update if I have any issues or things change. One other thing, these cameras feel like a quality build, much different than most of the plastic crap we buy today. UPDATE 12/11 One of the cameras has malfunctioned and I have returned it for replacement. UPDATE 12/14 Received replacement today and it works perfectly. Excellent customer service and fast replacement!

Price and product are great!
This camera worked just the way I expected. We have the netvue indoor cameras and this and those do not fail. Night vision is clear and alerts pick up all the way to the road. Easy set up both hardware and software wise. Only issue I have is my own home and the lack of outlet availability in a secure location. The pictures below are at dusk and complete dark.

Easy to Install and Easy to Use with Smartphone!
This outdoor security camera is a white, heavy duty metal, but light, and very easy to connect to Wifi. Note: You will not need to use an ethernet cable for set-up. One tip is to turn the “Night Vision Mode Setting” to “Always Day” because the Night Mode doesn’t work through double-paned windows. This camera sensitivity is high which can be adjusted. It has a “Motion Time” feature but I run it 24 hours a day. I haven’t used the “Share” feature yet. Having a choice of using a Micro SD card or Cloud is awesome. I use the Motion Detection Storage Cloud Service offered by Netvue. The “Device Timezone Setting” syncs to my IPhone 6. Netvue Support is awesome, I like to use Chat and always have gotten precise instruction for any issues I have had. Responses to email are also quick and professional.

Beat Expectations
Let's begin with the packaging which will be the first thing you see upon receiving the camera. The exterior packaging is attractive and includes a lot of details and specifications about the camera. Opening the box and you will find a very VERY impressive bubble wrap protecting the camera shell. This protection is probably overkill but that makes me happy. They put the effort into protecting the device. The rest of the small parts were packaged up nicely and the power supply was in a separate box. Also included is a masonry drill bit which will be helpful if the install is on brick or concrete. Packaging: 5 Stars Now, let's get started on the camera itself. My first impression was, "wow, this thing is a tank". It feels very well built with a metal exterior and it definitely seems up to the task of withstanding outdoor use. The cord coming off the back of the camera is about 18". This cord includes the power cord, Wifi Button, and ethernet cord if you plan to use ethernet instead of wireless. Don't be confused, there is also the power adapter that has a very long (at least 12 foot). 2 screws need to be removed to insert an SD card. I had an 8 GB card laying around so that's what I used for the test. You can also use Netvue's cloud service in place of the SD Card if you would like the video to be recorded. I'll report in another section about how long an 8GB card will record. Connecting the camera to my wifi was very easy even though at first I wouldn't have said that but I found out my wifi/internet started having issues before I tried to add the camera to my network. The Smart Link feature which is what it attempts to use to connect first didn't work for me but the backup QR method worked just fine. Use of the app is very easy. It's simple for even the most tech-unsavvy users. Once the app and camera have been configured the camera will begin recording to the SD card. I found that it takes a couple hours to be able to review recordings. My 8 GB card is recording about 22 hours which I find to be acceptable. (I do plan to replace it with a 32 GB or larger card at some point as I would like about 4 days recorded). NOTE: the SD card must be formatted to FAT or FAT32 in order to work. Initially, my card was set up as exFAT and it wasn't recognized but when I contacted support I got a fast reply and determined that I needed to reformat my card. I haven't installed the camera outside on my house yet because on the day I planned to install it snowed and has been too cold for me to be out on a ladder, however, i plan to install the camera this weekend when the temperatures should be warmer. I don't foresee any issues with the install as it should be pretty straight-forward given that there are anchors and screws included. There is also a hole template to stick to the surface so your holes are in the right alignment. Overall, I am very impressed with my Vigil camera. For the price, I don't think there is a better outdoor camera that has the same features and includes an easy app such as Netvue. It's worth your investment. I will report back and update my review if I run into issues with install or with the camera later on down the road. Thanks for reading my review.

Quickest to show who is there and works eith Apple watch
Liked the fast motion sensing response. In 4-6 seconds photo appears on my Apple Watch. "good" (86/100) signal strength. Con - poor instructions with it, and no access to IP configuration. I recommend that after you get it linked to your router, restart your router. Setting it up caused my router software to hang. Everything worked great after restarting my router. Con - night vision not great. Infrared has only a 20ft range or so. Overall, a super buy! Secrets to install. To setup- connect to ethernet to configure, install memory card, configure cell phone for 2.4 GHz wifi, then follow manual. One you get it working, you can remove ethernet cable if you configured it for wifi and use either 2.4 or 5GHz for cell phone. Camera can only use 2.4GHz for wifi. Note - I had already set up one Netvue camera at the front door when Netvue asked me to so a review and offered me a chsnce to get a 2nd camera. I jumped at the opportunity because there are the best I have tried. All the other brands were slow to notify me of motion, and even slower to show it to me. A Ring original doorbell was so slow as to miss catching the source. Great software.
Sweetness Jones
Great Detail including at night - Quality Built - Proprietary File Format
Higher quality camera. I own a NetVue Orb Tilt/Swivel type camera and this integrated instantly with the software. Motion notifications are more accurate than other brands I've tried. With the mindset of more IR LEDS make a brighter picture ... this proves me wrong. These are high power IR's and the camera has very good night vision. Sound is delayed but that is to be expected when going over the internet. Lower quality sound but again ... expected. Easy to adjust the mount angle - Tools included. Especially like the white color to keep the unit cooler outside (Black gets too hot on most cameras causing failure). Although this is Wifi it also has a RJ45 connection. I don't like using WiFi in general so this a great option. I would give the unit 4.5 stars if I could since the video on the Micro SD card is a proprietary format and there is no conversion tool if you want to copy the files off of the REMOVED Micro SD card for permanent storage in there raw form. Why the format or no conversion tool? I verified this with support which did get back to me within 24 hours - Great service. Recommended overall

Great little security camera with a nice app
So other than an initial setup issue (my camera wouldn't initially connect to the network using the wizard - I had to have the app generate a QR code that you hold in front of the camera) this has been fantastic. The latency is low (about 1 second behind real-time) - the two way talk works great, and the picture quality is surprisingly good, especially at night. I had to play around with the sensitivity - since mine partially captures the road, I had to put it pretty low so it didn't go off all the time. But the image quality is great! It even caught a winged passerby for a great photo too. I highly recommend this camera. The only gripe is that you have to use the NetVue app (there's no Onvif or RTSP connections that I can find, kind of like Zmodo, except the quality is a LOT better than them on the Netvue). Beyond that, it just runs, no dropouts, it's steady and reliable, just like you want a security camera to be!
