Just connected it and no problems. I'm using XFinity "blast" something or other, which is 100mbps download speed. Using fast.com to test the connection speed I clocked in at 56 mbps over the default 2.4 GHz band. I then switched to the 5 GHz band in the setup wizard, and clocked in a speed of 92 mbps. After that I took it one step further and switched the bandwidth from 20Mhz to 40Mhz in the router settings panel. With this, I picked the wireless channel that had the least interference and best speed, and clocked in at 130mbps which is 30% better than what I'm paying for. So to wrap up, switch from 2.4 to 5 in the setup wizard. Switch from 20Mhz to 40Mhz in radio settings. Then pick a low interference wireless channel, testing the speed each time using fast.com or speedtest.net. For my usage needs there isn't a real difference between 300 and 130, as I have a pretty fast laptop with an SSD. I save $30 a month including the equipment rental and I will recoup the cost of this modem in about a month. After that I'll be rolling in piles of cash with many beautiful women. Also note the difference in size between the two modems.

Great price. Worked perfectly with Comcast / Xfinity. I have the 100 Mbps package and am getting consistent speeds of 100 Mbps over wifi. Couldn't be happier, as I've spent over $100 on modem / router combos and this one works just as well!!

Paid 32.99 for a refurb. Best 32 bucks and change that I've spent... I now have wireless "N" to use with my Fire Stick 4K. Wireless "N" doesn't have the reach that "G" does, but even a weaker "N" signal beats a good "G" signal by a mile. My streaming connection doesn't stall or crap out any more. It's great in my building where there's dozens of apartments using "G" wireless devices which were seriously killing my bandwidth no matter the channel. My 30-MBPS connection was coming in at under 8-MBPS on average, sometimes 3-MBPS. With this Motorola, It never goes under 18-MBPS! Allow good ventilation as this item runs warm to the touch. Besides, you'll get a better wifi signal if it's out in the open, and not hidden from sight. The 4-port router section works great too with DHCP. There's a firewall, albeit a simple one included. Works well with Comcast Xfinity...

So, I was having REALLY slow, lagging internet, and multiple connection dropouts during the day. I did some searching around and it turns out there are a couple of TI chipsets under the "Puma" name that are known to have this issue, and there's an entire website or two related to them; I found my old modem/router on that site, I ran their test and sure enough, my modem was bad. I pay for 100mbps with our cable company and was only getting 30-35mpbs. Got this in this morning, hooked it up, called the cable company and gave them the MAC address of my new modem, and BOOM, I'm now running around 105-110mbps again. This is not a gigabit capable router, but for most standard cable internet use, it is fine. Wifi signal strength seems as strong, if not a little stronger, than my old SMC modem/router, too. UPDATE: After having this for a few weeks, I want to give a quick update. The modem and wired router part of this unit has been fabulous, and is still chugging along. That said, a few days into owning it, I noticed that I was having trouble seeing the wireless with my phone and my Roku box. Turns out the wireless in this unit is kind of weak, I ended up getting a stronger wireless router to use with this, so now I only use it as a modem. I would absolutely buy this again, however, just because it is fairly fast and works as advertised, as long as you don't have too large an area to cover with wireless. If you do, you'll want to get a separate router with external antennas or a wireless extender to use with it.

Bought Friday afternoon, delivered on Saturday. (I used a locker address, it ships faster to a locker address than my home although I am close to locker..) The item is new. Besides modem, it has one Ethernet, one power, and one paper showing how to get online manual. I had everything connected and then called Xfinity. You do need to call internet provider as they need to record the device info. I told them my modem brand, model, and mac id on the device. Xfinity representative helps me to connect to the internet within 10-15 minutes. I also connect the Ethernet port from modem to my laptop so that I can login to the administration page of the modem when internet is connected. The reason is that I don't know the password of the modem I bought. So I was trying to figure out. Even without the password, I can still connect my laptop with Ethernet by clicking the button on the front panel of the modem during connection (the tips pops out when I tried on my laptop). I basically googled how to reset /change password of this modem and followed instructions. It is very straight forward. In the end, I found out the password of the modem and didn't bother to change it at all.

Ordering electronics online is always a bit nerve-racking. BUT, I like Amazon's return policy so I felt good about ordering this item. I will have to go back and read the write up about this modem because I've been using it for quite some time ... and when I ordered it, I don't remember it saying it was a wifi modem. I thought I was going to have to use a router with this but lo and behold, when I installed this it's wifi ready! Super pleased and it's been working great! I would buy again but I have a feeling I won't need to for quite some time.

Works great with my Xfinity. I bought it to replace their Gateway that they were charging me $13 a month to rent. Wifi range is not as wide and strong as the actual Xfinity Gateway, but I'm in a one bedroom apartment and that doesn't affect me as much as I'm sure it would in a larger space. Does not work with the Xfinity xFi app.

This router does not require the LAN cable to be configured as the WPS set up button enables a quick first connection (just remember to hold it, not just press it). You then have to contact your provider to register the device and in a few mins you are online. There are comprehensive instructions in the box and the device is properly refurbished and sealed. Looks like new. If you are having issues with xFinity modem due to b/g/n mode (eg. FitBit Aria connection), those will disappear with this modem. I am glad I bought it and would definitely recommend.

Strengthens your WiFi up to 3-4 time. I went from 30 MPS to 112 MPS. Doesn’t come with instructions but you can use default http://192.168.0.1/ in your browser then type admin as user and motorola as password. You can also download manual on line prior to installation

Works just a well as the high end router that I was renting from my cable company. Easy to set up and the range is pretty good. I live in a concerete surrounded apartment and can still get good signal at the other end of the apartment. The unit is also quite small, which means it is not an obvious eyesore.
