Much more than I thought!

First off I've been using the Deeper Pro+ for a couple years now myself. My son has just started to get back into fishing after several years. I wanted to get him a Deeper to help him since he does mostly shore fishing and some kayak fishing. I tried it out before giving it to him and found it anything but a basic entry level unit. Upon opening it is very solid and well built, yet lightweight. It does not open like my Pro + model, however it charges from the outside with an included USB charging cable. It had some features of my Pro + model, was surprised to see the Fish ID, which shows "fish" icons and actual depth of each fish marked. Also has a live readout of actual water depth and a nice chart readout of the lake bottom. This is great for the beginning or casual angler. Having a sonar like the "Boat" guys do from shore is a real plus! The downloadable app also includes a weather screen, to show current and future conditions as well as a solunar calendar and moon phase which I personally find useful. The app also lets you document your catches and photograph your trophy, right from the Deeper app so you can keep a log. All in all very impressed in the performance of such an inexpensive unit.. I know my son will absolutely love this tool in his arsenal. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get an inexpensive portable sonar, without sacrificing quality. For me, the Deeper "Start" gets an A++. Now that I am done, I guess I have to give it my son!

Awesome Product

I have purchased iBobbler getting this Deeper Starter. A problem with iBobbler was it wasn't connecting to my phone if iBobbler is more than 5 feet away. I have returned the iBobbler and got Deeper Starter. The Deeper Starter had no issue connecting to my LG phone far as I can throw and it's finding fishes. One issue I had with Deeper was after fishing for about three hours, my phone wasn't able to connect to Deeper. I was thinking maybe power run out on Deeper but when I came home and recharge the Deeper, it still had 3/4 full battery. I went out fishing the next day and it happened again. It seems Deeper is turning off or going to sleep and not connecting. I have a workaround for this issue. You can carry a USB external battery and when the phone is not connecting, connecting to the external USB charger seems to wake up the Deeper and start connecting to the phone.

Perfect for the on shore angler who just needs to identify quickly if fish are around. Size is perfectly portable for my fishing bag. Charger is fantastic with its magnetic port. Wish a fishing pole adapter for smartphone was included with the product.

Great for People New to Fish Finders

This newest product from the Deeper team is a great entry level fish finder for those who need somewhere to start. Not only is it affordable, but the interface is friendly and not riddled with advanced features. I have the Deeper Pro+ and I’m still learning on that device. This is great for kids and newer anglers who want to know how to read water and how that pertains to how they want to fish. I’m excited to use this with my girlfriends little sister to help her learn more about the places we fish. Killer product Deeper!

USB chargeable, can charge on the go!

If you all are looking for an easy to use fish finder, to just download the app,charge the device, take out on your trip and cast. This little guy is for you!! Dont let the size fool you. This guy is a beast! I'd your not into all the offline mapping and super high tech stuff, an want an easier version to use other the. The deeper pro plus. I'd definitely go with this guy. Especially if your just scanning around docks or shoreline and your not casting and scanning a whole bunch of water. This little guy will get the job done! I absolutely love it. I have the deeper pro plus and this deeper smart. An I can say when I'm just fishing docks and small places where I dont need to know a whole lot but where the fish are at, this is my go to. Highly recommend, light weight, extremely durable,holds a great charge of 6 hours of scanning time. If you guys are looking for a lower price fish finder, without the higher tech stuff and mapping of waters, check out the deper smart! You wont be disappointed

Easy to use

I have used this a few times and found it is very helpful in determining the depth of the water. It has also shown me if there are any fish in a particular spot. If not I move on to a different spot.

It’s easy to use

I love the deeper it works just as well as a depth finder on a boat. I used it this passed weekend over the fourth week. I wouldn’t get anything different then this product.

The Deeper Start packs all the necessary items into a sleek, lightweight bundle that you will not want to pass up on. The Start pairs to Deepers application on your phone and you are ready to hit the water. I tested it right next to the Pro+ model and it produced the same results. The charger is magnet and is really innovative. The interface of the application is super easy to navigate and visually very pleasing to look at. It weighs much less than the Pro+ which leads to much longer casts. I definitely recommend this product. Buy 2 and give one to your fishing buddy for Christmas.
