This is the second time I have bought Kyocera ceramic knives and I highly recommend them. After the success I have had my parents bought a set and my brother bought himself a set. They are exceptionally sharp, but be aware that they are quite brittle and you should not use them for anything that twists the blade or might chip the blade (such as cutting cheese or cutting meat off the bone). A friend tried to open a can with the knife and the blade shattered (of course!), so be aware of what you are cutting! For cutting vegetables these knives give you amazing cuts. I primarily use the chef's knife, and I use the serrated knife for tomatoes (its amazing how thin it will slice). I don't use the paring knife very often.

These are fantastically sharp. They do feel very brittle though since it is ceramic not metal, so do not go prying stuff or smacking it against things in the sink. Wash them right after using, store them seperately, and take care of them. If you do that they are amazing at slicing fruits and vegetables, and boneless meats.

First, these knives are great....super sharp! I love them! I bought the sleeves for them as well and I highly recommend to do that! I am writing this review 7 months later for the simple fact that I had a great customer service experience! The 5" knife got a big chip in it and I emailed Kyocera about it. At first they said I could send it in to be sharpened, but would have to pay shipping. When I emailed back and said I was disappointed and that sharpening would not fix this issue as there was a big chunk out of the blade, I then received a reply stating they would just replace it at no cost and ship me a new one immediately! That is true customer service and I truly appreciate them standing behind their product as I love these knives and recommend them! Thank you Kyocera!!

awesome knives, great set. lightweight and still very strong. I had bought one with a coupon years ago, and hoped for a set like this. Will probably keep being great for a lifetime, unless you do something crazy for a ceramic knife, like cut a frozen corn cob, or try cutting through bone. I also bought the wooden knife block for extra protection.

These have been an unexpectedly-good value. We'd already just bought 5 excellent Henckels paring knifes here to use as steak knives, after the one we had worked much better for that than any steak knife set we'd ever tried. Then, based on advice from a blogger's daughter, and still needing the other sizes included in this set, I ordered this too. Since arrival, I find myself almost always using these knifes, over either our Henckel paring knives or our Henckel 8" chef's knife. Sharp as the Henckel blades are, somehow these are even sharper, with a micro-serrated edge that makes them my daily choice for slicing tomatoes. These knives also clean even more easily than the Henckels, rarely needing more than a quick wipe under water. Highly recommended!

The quality of material and workmanship is outstanding. The blades are so fine, near the edge they are almost see through. You can tell who ever designed these knives took pride in his work. Now, I've owned the for only a few weeks, so I can't speak about their longevity, but I'll just say this. I accidentally bought two sets. I was going to return one, but seeing how well constructed they are, I'm keeping the second set. It's well worth the money.

I love the Kyocera knives. These are not my first purchase of these. They are the best knives. My only complaint is that there is not a better choice of color. The ones I have are pink for breast cancer.

These were to replace an old set of the same exact manufacturer my wife had for at least 10 years. She had dropped one on the kitchen floor and it broke. They have a lifetime guarantee but we felt it would be unfair to claim it after all these years and the fact she dropped it on a tile floor. She loves them.

These knives are ideal, and sharp. I purchased this set to replace a friends, center size 6", that I had broken accidentally.. I brought the remaining 2 knives in this set home with me and find myself reaching for them when I need a knife. They come with a lifetime sharpening service should you ever need it. When you use one of these knives your mind is awed thinking that prior to this exact moment, "What have I been cutting with?" I would like another set of these knives.

We received our first Kyocera knife as a gift from a friend from Japan. The first time I used it, I was cutting a large about of potatoes and would have expected my wrist to be a little sore by the time I was done but it wasn't. We've been very happy with that knife and finally decided to invest in this set which includes a chef's knife, a paring knife, and a serrated knife. We cook a lot and this set fully meets our needs. There's really no need to by an expensive 20 piece knife set. One caveat: these knives will chip if you use them to cut meat. This is a non issue for us because we're vegetarian and they are excellent for everything else
