- ★TRUE DISCRIMINATION MODE★ - This metal detector can detect metals including iron, aluminum, gold, bronze, silver and their articles in all-metal mode. Just press the button, you can simply set the target range (Up to 7.1’’ inches deep) or eliminate the metal you don’t want. Then, you can accurately find the certain metal you want. The crossed frame is for item(s) eliminated and two 9V alkaline batteries are required.
- ★HIGHER SENSITIVE & WATERPROOF SEARCH COIL★ - The bigger the search coil is, the higher the sensitivity. The increased size of the search coil to 10 inches makes metal detecting MORE EFFICIENT. And the WATERPROOF stem and coil enable you to use our metal explorer underwater, especially suitable for outdoor activities, on the beach or in the stream. But it is should be noted that the control box is not waterproof.
- ★MORE INTUITIVE LCD CONTROL BOX★ - A control box with LCD will simplify your metal detecting a lot. The detection mode, sensitivity level, battery condition, and volume level can be known at a glance. An arrow displayed below the target icon will clearly tell you detecting a object. The depth of the target is also displayed. Compared to the knob and dial, button and LCD are obviously more accurate and convenient.
- ★P/P FUNCTION & DISTINCTIVE AUDIO PROMPT★ - There are distinctive audio tones in our metal detector for different types of metal. So after a period of time use, you can tell what type of metal you've detected just by audio tones. And the P/P function enables you to pinpoint a target accurately. Operating steps have been written in the manual which comes with the metal finder. All we have done is let you find the target more easily!

Great for beginners!
It is a great metal detector! I took it to the beach and here is my experience so far: It was able to mostly distinguish the different metals. It knew the coins, but i was unable to find a dollar coin so I don't know if that works. It is very lightweight and it is comfortable to hold. It is very waterproof, and I was able to use it in the water up to 2 feet up on the coil. It is very accurate with depth. I highly reccomend this metal detector!

Good value for the money
Lightweight but solidly built. Easy to adjust. Love that it can be disassembled but in a suitcase. Good for the beginner. Can't Wait to hit the beach!

Works Great!
My father has an $800 metal detector that works quite well. I decided to purchase the Ricomax® as a "starter" metal detector for myself and I'm glad I did. For a fraction of the price it seems to be neck and neck with the higher end detectors. After dialing down the sensitivity two notches the depth and metal accuracy was pretty spot on. The red center button REALLY come in handy to pinpoint your find once you get a good hit on what your after. I found a lot of coin and even an old German coin from about 4,000 miles away in my back yard my second time out! Great buy!

Light weight and easy to assemble!
This product was delivered today with excellent thoughtfulness. The delievery guy put it in my house due to the snow storm we are experiencing today. I just got done putting it together and it was easy as pie. It's very light weight and the perfect size. I cannot wait to try this out on the beach and at the local park! I recommend this product to everyone! Great price! Also, it takes two 9 volt batteries. Happy hunting!

The cost is SO worth it!
I love it! I used it in a civil war trail and found nails and other small things but my best find of the day was a horseshoe with some nails still attached to it, that alone made my day!

... get out of the house and have a little fun. I found that it was very easy to ...
I bought this metal detector as a way for my son and me to get out of the house and have a little fun. I found that it was very easy to set up and when we tried it out in the backyard we found some old wiring about 9 to 10 inches in the ground. I was impressed that it picks up the metal that deep in the ground. We also used it to find some arrows that we lost in the high grass, sweep low and slow. I am glad I bought this, and we are having fun with the product.

I LOVE MY NEW TOY
This metal detector has gotten me on the move for treasure hunting. The first time out I found $.25! I’m psyched at the possibilities this dectector and I can find. I’m going to the beach this weekend to find dabloons! I love my new toy!

Found a beautiful ring first day out!
First time out using one of these in years and we found all kinds of things. The most valuable being a ring. Took it to a local jeweler for an appraisal $1600! He said from the style of the ring it appears to be from the mid to late 1800s.

Great features at a fantastic value.
When I received the RICOMAX Metal Detector, I opened it up and found that everything was packed very well (both the Amazon shipping and the RICOMAX packaging for the product. Even though I felt that I could have assembled the unit without the instructions, I followed them exactly as written and had the unit easily assembled and ready for testing. After reading through the remaining hints, tips and recommendations, I added two new high-end 9v batteries and started testing with various metals in the house (as recommended in the instructions) At first, the unit was only about 65-70% accurate on the type of metal (100% sensitive that metal was present). After adjusting the sensitivity some and playing with the distances, I would say it was up to 80-90% accurate. Testing was done with a penny, dime, quarter, gold ring and a few types of nails. My first dry day was yesterday so I took it out to my 26 acre property for some testing and to get used to it's function in the field. I was only out for a relatively short time, but was able to detect various metals at various distances in the ground with ease. Not having the right digging tool at the time (I have a MocDoo arriving tomorrow) I just up-earthed a few items that were closer to the surface. No real treasures (very old beer can and some shotgun shells, all at about 3" down) but the discrimination feature was accurate, as was the estimated depth of the item. I'm very much looking forward to mapping out my property and with this Ricomax detector and up-earthing some cool things. The ONLY Con that I have on this unit...and it's not that bad..I wish the display was a little brighter. Also, if the sun hits is dead-on, the glare is pretty bad. Combine the two and you're having to move the detector around to see the display better. Again, for the price, quality and features, this isn't that big if a deal. I would buy this detector again and look forward to using it extensively.

Excellent Budget Detector GC-1028
I've been metal detecting for many years now and I bought this detector simply to have an inexpensive backup in case one of my main units fails. Since it is the middle of winter here I was unable to test this product outside, however, I was able to do thorough indoor testing. I know some of you may find it odd I'd review this without outdoor testing, but believe me, a lot of detectors are tested indoors against each other in order to verify strength and discrimination ability ( I may update review once spring rolls around). I put this detector (with it's 10" coil) up against other detectors in it's relative price/power range. The Bounty Hunter Quicksilver, Garrett Ace 200, and Fisher F22 (all with 8" coils"). The coin test is simple; we move a coin side to side against the coil and see how far we can get a strong signal. In this case I'll just speak of the quarter test results, as I do not want this review to turn into an essay. The Quicksilver was able to keep a crisp signal with correct tone at 8", The Ace 200 was slightly less at 7.5", the F22 again 7.5", and this detector also came in at 7.5". Similar results were found with dimes, nickels, silver dollars, and fifty cent pieces. All in all, very much in the same ballpark for power. Now for the discrimination testing, all of the detectors worked correctly, however the large 10" coil on this detector does make pinpointing and garbage pickup a bit more of a problem. It's not terrible and this is a common issue when using larger coils. Long story short, the smaller the coil, the better it will be at using discrimination because it covers less area(smaller coils are also what you want if you are mainly searching for gold). I will point out the larger coils require a slightly slower movement/swing as they can miss things, so keep it a smooth motion back and forth when swinging. Without going into further detail, from what I have seen, this detector at under $100 is an absolute steal. It's definitely a beginner detector but it comes with bells and whistles that you usually don't see until you get to the $200+ range. If you are interested in the hobby and want to play on the beach, dig up your yard, or simply to have a backup like me, I recommend this detector.
