I purchased this for a tenant to use in their closet, which doesn't have wired lighting. I wanted something that would last a long time (hence the LED), be manageable by them (micro-USB charging is universal/easy, and the instructions appear understandable by most people), and increase the functionality of their closet, all while sticking within a reasonable budget. This appears to meet all my needs. I immediately was impressed by the appearance and construction of this light: It is sleek, the motion sensor rotates well, and (above all) the magnetic mount works very well and is unobtrusive, allowing the design to truly "shine" (as my tenant said: "It looks like a light saber!") The programming is also elegant and unobtrusive in the sense that it uses just one button and colored LEDs (between motion sensor and light sections) to confirm when the programming is successful. It also has colored LEDs in the light bar itself when charging (blue=empty and charging; beige=charged--from what I can gather). The light itself is bright and works well to illuminate the closet; the motion sensor is sensitive. I recommend setting the light to "motion sensor only" as it did not turn on unless the closet was 100% dark. The main negative I've noticed is that the mount comes with very very short screws, which (1) do not easily pierce through the 3M adhesive (I would have needed a nail to puncture a hole for the screw), (2) would barely get through the mount and adhesive, much less obtain any purchase in a wall or drywall; and (3) require a specialty small screwdriver (the type used for phone or laptop repairs), which thankfully I have, but I guess most people don't. Even then, I couldn't get it through the adhesive (which I'd already attached to the wall) and didn't want to bother puncturing it with a nail when I realized the screw wouldn't actually provide much grip anyway. So, the screws are basically useless and the mount depends entirely on 3M technology; I installed it yesterday so I cannot comment on durability. A negative: Besides the screws, the instructions are a little confusing, but workable. (For example, you need to turn the light on before programming it for "motion only," but the instructions don't explicitly say this; rather, I had to infer it from how other programming modes work). You're probably going to set it once and only change the setting if you move the light, by which time you most likely will have forgotten the instructions, so keep them around. For the price--and assuming the light holds a charge for a long time and functions as it currently does--I think this is a 4.5 star product. I will return to update the review if durability or other issues arise.

Very nice rechargeable motion light exceeding my expectations. I have this set up in a closet which measures about 4'X10" and it lights it up entirely. This replaces a battery powered version that ate up batteries and didn't exactly light up the closet top to bottom as this unit does, The rotatable sensor was a must for me as I have it mounted behind the top door jam with the light pointed 90 degrees and the sensor rotated down. No issues at all with it working properly and the sensor working exactly as I needed it to. As soon as the door is opened the sensor engages and the light comes on. The light is very bright and I would have to agree on their lumen advertisement and with the frosted lens creates a softer light. Another nice feature is the light ramps up when engaged and not just jumps to full brightness right off the bat, I'm talking less than 1 second. It does the same as it powers off as well. All in all a great rechargeable light that I will be ordering a couple more of.

I am the sort of person that makes an excel sheet for everything prior to purchase; I'm detail oriented and truly believe that a product should work as described for a lifetime with a warranty to cover any issues that arise. Needless to say, my standards for purchasing items is VERY high. After doing all of my research on similar items, I concluded that this LED motion sensor light would be the best choice for our dark closets. I ordered one for each of the four closets and received them promptly. At first, installation seemed tricky with the itsy-bitsy screws, but once I knew that I could simply use the double-sided tape to mount the magnetic bracket up-side-down without worry about the bracket or device falling to the floor below, installation took only a few minutes. I love the blue light to indicate low battery and the red light to indicate a full charge. The motion sensor and magnetic light rotation features are great when angling the light and motion detection. It even works well with two closets that don't have doors (I was nervous that use of a motion sensor light in these areas would become a nuisance due to high peripheral traffic, but we can angle the motion sensor to detect when someone reaches into the closet only so the light is not overused). The light is bright but comes on gradually, so as not to blind the user early in the morning, such as when my husband hasn't had enough coffee yet. I would certainly buy this product again in the future. I have had no problems after a month of use and I do not anticipate any problems in the near future. This purchase price was on the high end, but the features make it all worthwhile.

**Update (Approximately 1 year later): I still am using this light in the same fashion, within a closet triggered only by motion and it has been fantastic. I think in all that time ive only had to charge it 3 times or so and with the magnetic mounting i just pull it down plug it in and when it's done just fling it back on the mount. I am quite satisfied after this time and am looking to buy another possibly for an additional (wireless) under cabinet light! End update** I received and installed this light today in my closet and am really quite impressed and surprised at how effective this light is. On receiving the light i charged it up which didn't take too long- i imagine it already shipped with some charge and it charges off a standard micro USB cable which is convenient. Having a built in rechargeable battery is totally awesome! I have a similar motion sensing under cabinet light i use in the kitchen which is a plug in and has 3 different light 'color' options which is a bit brighter however considering how much more it costs and that it is not a battery driven light this closet light really shines. -The build quality is excellent, the casing feels like metal and the light is extremely diffused you cannot see any individual leds like on some cheaper (quality) lights, i will attach a photo of the light it gives off in my ::small:: closet. -The mount to the actual light stick is magnetic which allows you to permanently (or double side tape) mount the 'receiver' part of the mount and then easily detach the magnetic light stick when you need to charge it, or to just use somewhere else, i found the light to be quite versatile. -The light itself can be set to just ON or completely OFF by holding the power button and then by just clicking it can set the light to go on when the area it is in is dark AND there's motion, or to just when it detects motion regardless of how light/dark it is. I currently have the light set to go off with just motion and it is mounted on the ceiling of my closet, approximately 3 or so feet from where the motion happens and it has done a good job of turning on when i need it to. The light turns off after 18 seconds of no motion and remains on so long as you are doing something under it, awesome. I cannot speak to how it will hold up but so far i am really impressed at it's price point how well it works, the options it offers with the motion sensing, the built in battery, and the magnetic mount make it a real winner and a definite recommended product.

I got this for an undocumented use, in the trunk of my car. I have it mounted in the ceiling of the trunk because I wanted more light in there. Motion sensor works as designed, I chose only motion mode. The silver finish looks great in the car, although no one would normally look there. However, because of the magnetic mount, it could be removed and used outside the vehicle if needed. Thanks to the small 3 inch stick-on mount, it was easy to find a suitable place to attach it; other LED closet lights with longer mounts would be difficult to mount due to the uneven surfaces of the trunk ceiling. The instructions were not that clear, had to trial-and-error to get the right mode.

It’s great. Not another poorly executed good idea from a cut-rate amazon vendor— this thing is built well, feels sturdy, and best of all, works perfectly. The magnet which fastens the light in-place is strong. Included are two 3M adhesives for adhering the magnet to the wall. I appreciated that the vendor includes a back-up sticky pad. The magnet will easily hold the light upside down (from a ceiling or similarly-oriented surface) for as long as you want it to. The light adequately lights up a completely dark closet. The three modes all work as described. The threshold for the light sensor is a little too low for my preference, so I’m using it on ‘motion detection only’ mode, and the light comes on with a simple wave gesture as I open the closet. The motion/light sensor can swivel so you can ensure it’s oriented to sense whatever you need it to. The light is easily removable from the mounting magnet and can be recharged with a common-style micro-usb cord (item does include a cord). I think this is an excellent product for the price. Everything works as descrived. The removable/rechargable nature is a huge bonus. And the second sticky is great in case you want a secondary location to hang the light, or run into an issue during your first set-up.

I've purchased many LED lights for cabinets, closets, lockers, etc. and this is probably the nicest I've ever purchased. It has a number of good features, most notably: -It gradually gets brighter as it turns on and off. That's a really nice touch, especially in the middle of the night -The motion sensor is adjustable, so you are able to, say, put it on a door sill, but rotate the sensor so it picks up motion as soon as you walk in the door. That increases the amount of places you can use this light significantly. -Of course, being able to recharge it is great. -They include a nice size charging cable, although you have to provide your own power plug. Still, most other lights have a really short cable and the Loft version is about twice as long as others. I've had it for about 3 weeks and the light turns on between 5 and 10 times on most evenings and I'm still on the initial charge. I'll update this review after I've had the light more than 90-days. Although I really like the light, I find it a bit pricey at $24US. I'd consider buying more if I could get a lower price, even if it meant purchasing a set of 5 or 6 if there was a discount to make it worth it. Other than that, I think it is great.

This is a well designed and built light that works well and is easy to install and not too hard to configure. The instruction are better than most but still suffer from a few minor flaws mentioned below. Below I hope to help other folks with their installation and setup with a few things I learned. The light cylinder is very light but very sturdy. It attaches magnetically to the mounting bracket. The cylinder only attaches in one part of the cylinder so you should take care to install the bracket where you want the light. The mounting bracket can be attached by the double-sided tape of tiny (really tiny) screws. I opted for using one tiny screw as I never seem to have luck with mounting tape lasting for more than few months. The package included two sets of the tape and screws. I only used one screw as the light is so light and it was very secure with just the one screw. I thought the cylinder shape was a matter of styling rather than being part of the function of the light. Being CDO (that’s Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder but with the letters in alpha order :-)), I placed the cylinder with the light and subsequently the motion sensor pointing directly down toward the floor. I configured the light for motion and light detection as will be discussed below a bit. I was disappointed that the light didn’t detect motion until I was very close to it. After a bit of thought it struck me that if I rotated the cylinder so that the light and sensor were facing more toward the aisle the light will detect the motion when I wished. So, it turns out that the cylinder shape allows you to adjust both the light direction and the effective range of the motion detection. As other reviewers have noted the selection of the mode can be a bit tricky. I suspect part of this comes from less than perfect instructions and, possibly, the diagrams on the box and the Amazon page. Setting the mode is actually very simple but possibly a bit painful from an eye sight perspective. The pain comes from the fact that you have to have the light on and you have to look at the sensor next to the rather bright light to see the mode color. You press the small power button for a couple seconds to turn on the light and then make short presses of the button to cycle to the motion mode desired. It might have been nice to have the power button be a bit larger and easily found by feel so you could reach it without looking. Overall, this is an excellent motion sensing light. I do get some 'exciting' gift from the seller for making this review but that has not changed anything above.

The instructions were a little confusing for this, but the most clear instructions were on the side of the box not the instruction manual itself. After reading this it made sense to me. I didn't feel it was worth docking a star because everything else is great. I also like that the magnet is strong enough to allow you to rotate and angle the light. Instructions are below (I'm adding them here so I can throw the box away :P). Remember the modes are in order, so to get to mode 2 for example you have to enter mode 1 first. Mode 1 (Always On): Long press the switch about 2 seconds to turn on the light, the light enters to Always on Mode Mode 2 (Motion and Light Sensor): After turning on the light, short press the switch, a green indicator will flash for 1 second, the light enters to motion & Light Sensor Mode Mode 3 (Only Motion Sensor): Short press the switch twice, red indicator flashes for 1 second, the light enters to Only Motion Sensor mode. Under Mode 3: Short press the switch, repeatedly, Mode 2 and Mode 3 will be chosen repeatedly. Mode 4 (OFF): Long press the switch about 2 seconds to turn off the light.
