does exactly what it is supposed to in a small portable stylish package. one thing to note is you will have to use your original power adapter with this adapter. their is no noticeable lag and the picture looks as good as the original dock. just make sure you prop up or lay your switch face down as not to block the air ports on the tablet portion and make your switch run hot on extended gaming sessions.

Amazing alternative dock for my Nintendo Switch! A lot cheaper than buying the official one from Nintendo. The dock also charges my Samsung Galaxy S8+ very quickly as well. I've tested the dock on a monitor and a TV and both work flawlessly. I haven't had one issue. Definitely recommend this dock for the Switch. A small note: make sure to get an official Nintendo or an ac power adapter that uses the same voltage as the original one to power the dock. That's a crucial thing to remember.

The product works as stated! Threw me off when I first connected the switch to the hub as the screen on the switch turned off. But it did appear on the TV as stated. There were two other things to keep in mind as well. When the switch goes into sleep mode after sitting for an extended time, the screen will not appear on the tv when you "wake it up". Unplugging the HDMI cord and plugging it back in resolved the issue. The same with sound, although I only had one instance of sound cutting out, I just unplugged the HDMI cord and plugged it back in. At this moment, I am extremely happy with the product.

Great little product, but I was only able to output HDMI when using the official Nintendo Switch AC Adapter.

Plug in the power first. Customer service is A+, they sent me an email after I received my item to see how everything was going. This is the second unit I ordered the first unit did not say switch compatible, this one was switch compatible. But after first connection I had trouble getting it to work. The trick is to make sure you plug in the power from the official power supply before you plug in to the switch. Great for use with travel. And if my son wants to take the switch to a friends house, fits in the slimline case. Velvet pouch also a plus.

10/8/18 Update: Seller was prompt to contact me after my original review. Sent me a replacement that works like a charm. Original Review: I could not get this to work with my Nintendo Switch. I am back to packing the original docking station again.

I have been using it for more than 6 months now. So far, all of the TV I've connected to works. But one projector didn't manage work. It takes a few seconds before the picture displays on the TV, sometimes the switch have to be on first, etc. It takes abit of fiddling. The usbc end is not clicky. You just push it in, and hope that it stays there. But overall the quality feels great. Tested that the USB works when I paired a pro controller. The reason why I get this over the original dock is portability and price. Make sure that you use the right AC adapter as the dock is very picky with the right V and A. Oh, and it's been working for switch firmware v5.0 till now, V6.+.

Using the original ac Nintendo adapter everything was seamless and easy to connect and worked instantly! I’m sooo happy that I can take this anywhere to play now in a bigger screen! Loved the packaging and that they give you a little baggie to put it in. Durable material. If the conector cable does eventually fail from normal use I would definitely buy another.

More like 4.5 Stars, but I rounded up rather than remove a whole star. This product works as an inexpensive docking solution for the Nintendo Switch (May 2019) . I bought this because I wanted to take the Switch with me this year on our beach camper trip so we can play if we stuck inside due to rain or when we're winding down in the evenings. I did not want to have to take apart my home set up (as its through the wall) but I didn't want to pay $80 for another docking station. I also purchased it to be able to move my Switch to a second screen in the home when we wanted to use the living room television, but the kids want play the Switch together. The good news is that it works for both of these set ups. (Note I did buy a Blackweb usb power supply from Walmart for the Nintendo Switch that works fine, I got it for 9.99). There was only one set up that I tested that did not work. This is actually where my original docking station is in my living room. In this set up the HDMI first goes through an older Samsung home theater. I think its probably 9 or 10 years old. The adapter seems to require that the HDMI from the device trigger it to put the Switch into docked mode. Apparently this older device did not trigger it as the Nintendo Switch never left handheld mode. This wasn't the set up that I was going to use it for so I wasn't that disappointed, but it does make me think there are probably other devices out there that it doesn't work with. The same television worked fine when directly connected to the television rather than through the home theater. The bottom line is that I do not think that the device is malfunctioning, but that the design of the product is not accommodating to every HDMI set up. Janovtec actually emailed me and asked if I was having and problems. I told them about this scenario and they offered a full refund. I responded that I did not with to return it and that it works for the applications I purchased it for. They still provided me with a 40% off coupon for another Janovtec product. It just so happened I wanted to purchase a usb 3.0 expansion (so I'd have more slots) and so I used the coupon for that.
