Heavy duty hold that lasts

These are powerful hooks that do a fantastic job holding tight. I use them mostly on the white boards in my classroom, but I have one on a filing cabinet and another on a metal "bin"/office organizer/shelving unit. They are strong enough to hold up the portable speakers that I use for my PPT presentations. I also use them to hold up maps and posters during lessons, to string cords for displays that hold up student work, and to hold my hall pass. I have three in use to hold up a shoe organizer that I use to keep student objects like extra pencils, scissors, erasers and the like. I like them so much and have found them so useful that my first pack of 6 was soon followed by another purchase! In response to an earlier review about them being *too strong*, if you want to release them, take the hook and twist it slightly at an angle to 'pop' the magnetic attraction more easily. Note: if the hook begins to spin, you will need to screw it back into the base. This takes just a second, but I have found that some of the hooks will loosen over time with use. This is not a flaw, just part of the design.

Super strong magnets!

These are seriously strong magnets. Accidentally got two of them together and had to pry them apart. Using them to mount some hanging files to a metal file cabinet. I don't think they're going anywhere. =)

Very powerful, you won't be disappointed!

These magnets are no joke! I accidently let 2 get stuck together and it took me several minutes to get them apart! I love the hooks because they screw into place so they won't break off. I'm using these in my classroom to hold up a large calendar and wanted to make sure they would have the power to safely secure it because the kids touch and move the calendar pieces around. Highly recommend!

80lbs? maybe, maybe not

These are very strong. Much stronger than anything I've bought before but how well they work for you depends on the surface you attach to. Of course this is true for all magnets but it may not be immediately intuitive. I put this on my fridge and I had no problem pulling it off with one hand. Didn't appear to me to be much stronger than the 20lb rated magnets I already had attached there. But then I attached it to my vise which is all cast iron and I couldn't pull it off at all without sliding it the edge. BTW, the strength is based on vertical pull, not horizontal. One nice feature is that the hook is threaded so you can replace this with a different type hook which is perfect for me.

These worked great for a cruise!

VERY strong magnets and hooks. They come shipped with a plastic spacer to help separate them, so be careful...if two of these come together, they can be very difficult to get apart. Many people do not realize that the walls and ceilings of cruise ships are steel, and in staterooms with little tabletop space, it it easy to hang things up, using magnets like these. Outside on the balcony, I hung binoculars so they would stay acclimated to the warm Caribbean temperatures, as if kept inside the room, the lenses would steam up immediately when going out. Inside, an umbrella and our car keys stayed in one place the whole time, ready for when we pulled back into port and needed them. The only thing to be careful of is not to hang anything too heavy, not because the magnets aren't strong, but because the walls can be smooth enough that the magnet slides down. We'll not go on a cruise again, without at least 6 of these!

Great for cruise ship stateroom walls!

These held up our shoe organizer which we use to organize all of our toiletries, etc in our cruise stateroom (metal walls). These are very heavy duty and 4 of them held up a pretty heavy organizer with no problem. We purchase less expensive magnet hooks for our last cruise and the organizer kept sliding down. We had absolutely no issue with that and these. Would highly recommend for those going on a cruise - great for organizing everything: hang your lanyard, hat rack, bathrobe hook, towel hook, etc... realllly useful as there usually isn't much room in those staterooms - give your walls something to do!

Super Magnets

These are truly powerful magnets. They come with a white wafer between each pair. Do not throw these pieces away because they make it possible to separate the two magnets. I put two together without the white piece and now cannot separate them. I'm not strong enough. Also don't put your finger between two of them when you bring them close together. They will jump together. I have a small blister from when this happened to me. despite the need to be careful, these magnets are fabulously strong enough to hold a myriad of items of varying weights.

These are the strongest and most useful magnet hooks ever!

These hooks are great and exceeded my expectations. The are quality stainless hooks with magnets that are extremely strong. Almost everything I have tried to hang on them has stayed in place except when the object is fairly heavy and the hook is placed on the face of the fridge or other metal object. It tended to slide down. If placed on the underside of the metal it stayed in place even with the heavy item hanging on it. I also have been placing sheets of paper, holiday cards, etc under the magnet and still using thr hook to gang things without any issues. As others have said, use care when you have two of these in your hand and when you are placing them on a piece of metal because they are strong enough to jump to the other item and could pinch you.

Very strong - which is terrific for use but can be dangerous.

These are very strong magnets. They worked perfectly for our Cruise. Save the small white disks that are in between the sets of magnets; you’ll need them later or else you won’t be able to get the magnets apart! WARNING: if two of them get close, they will SNAP together. They got me twice and I lost skin each time. One was pretty darn painful. Big blood blister. It’s been almost a week and I am still healing.

Great Product

Wanted to hang a grill brush under the side shelf of my infrared grill. Perfect hook for that! Just be ware the hooks are hard to separate and if two of them stick together it’s almost impossible to pull them apart the magnet is so strong!
